Yo, I know this is 6 years late, but I changed mine cause they were solid plastic, and snow/mud would build up, defeating their purpose. I live in rural colorado, and my car model is notorious for snow buildup in my wheel wells and could cause steering lockup. I don't need dangerous conditions being even more dangerous.
No sure why you want to replace the nice factory mud flap with this new cheesy looking one. Looks so ghetto. LOL
