    These ballast videos have helped so much with a sub I have been fixing from the workshop. Unlike your videos where the system is exposed to atm I am dealing with a closed loop for reloading torpedo tubes while underwater. I have to pull air into the ballast from the topedo tanks when emptying the water from the tubes. If not the tubes eventually get to 0 pressure when emptying water to reload and won't drain. I have 1 pipe going to each tube with a T pipe at the other end with 2 pumps - they only allow air as I have a filter at each end of the pipe. One pumps air in and one out. This way I can use the air in the ballast (it doesn't need to be filled for stable depth hold, so there is plenty of air) to equalize pressure in the tubes for multiple reloads.
    These videos have helped me land on the quickest way to fill and drain the tubes for reloads. I think I am down from about 8-10min to drain/reload with early tests to about 2min. Thank you for your content and keep up the great work.

    You made a comment about using pressure to transfer fluid, I haven't tested it recently, so it may be broken, but when the gas update came out, I did build a functioning truck mounted vacuum pump, it has a PTO driven impeller pump and a series of valves feeding into a custom pressure tank. Depending of how the valves were switched, you would either be sucking the air out of the tank (therefore forcing the liquid into the tank), or pushing air into the tank (and blowing the liquid out), this made the transfer of water between the truck and a water bombing aircraft very quick.

    Amazing, great as always. I would recommend, though, to use the Hebis Target Drone addon in the workshop, which will add a teleport spawn button to the hangar. This will then spawn any creation exactly where you want it, on that big flat area. Hope this helped!

    The first example worked perfectly from the release of the gas update, up until the last patch. The last patch broke a few more things (wasn't sure that was possible), such as the ballast example, and steam. Steam is now produced at a 1:1 rate.

    I have found with pressure tanks.... if you have no one way valve connected to the pressure tank the pumps and pipes will take up the liquid or gas when the pumps are turned off ( Sea>Pump>Pressure Tank on then off will be Pressure Tank>Pump>Sea)

    Good testing. I think you should put a button in that will start multiple test cases at the same time instead of pushing several buttons in a row though.

    I wonder if adding a gas relief valve to the second system will make it fill faster. Also, if you added a compressed gas tank to aid in emptying I wonder if that would speed up how quickly the tank empties. Great video as always!

    The conclusion I've come to is, the large pump is more efficient at pushing through a restriction than pulling.
    I'm just saying the same thing you did but wording it differently.

    Quick question, if the pumps are always going to be in water do you really need the relief valve?

      You don't, but if your boat flips or jumps a wave, you would be bringing in air

      @@454ss_gaming That is true. I guess you could make air effluent pumps for that. But, man this ballast system stuff is so intricate now. Its fun and annoying at the same time. lol
