- Tokyo's summer is hot with temperatures often over 35C / 94F and humidity so high it's like being in a sauna. One was to stay cool it so eat ice cream. Japanese has it's own original flavors and ingredients. Nevermind Ben&Jerry's, Baskin Robbins 31 flavors, and Cold Stone! John Daub heads to Ebisu where he enjoys Japanese ice cream at JAPANESE ICE OUCA.

My boyfriend (Now fiance) and I went here on our first trip to Tokyou this summer, all because I saw this video! It was a serious challenge, but luckily a really nice lady came over and showed me how to use a small spoon to great effect. When you get all of the flavors in one bite it's really amazing how well they work together!

I made it to Japanese ICE OUCA when I visited Tokyo in July and it was awesome. After watching this video it was high on my list of things to try. The best flavor we got was the peach. Got 3 flavors first and then went back for another all peach! Was great to sit outside and watch the people enjoying their Friday night, some looking like they were enjoying a little too much.

I'm curious to know how the milk-flavored ice cream tastes.
I thought it was an unusual flavor -- most white ice cream is vanilla flavored. Milk is sweet, tastes more natural. No artificial vanilla added. It's especially good in the Japanese countryside where they produce milk, like Tochigi, Nagano, Shikoku or Hokkaido!
There is so much in this tower that it's hard to make out all the flavors after a couple of minutes. It just blends together :p -John
