It's because Monster hunter is a niche game in the west on top of the fact that it's a pve oriented game, which most people dislike, including me, but I have played it and wish it had pvp and you could attack other players, but asians don't mind this later aspect, so it's more popular there were testosterone levels are way lower.

I always talk about Monster Hunter with great reverence. I call the earlier games 'Rubiks cubes covered in razor blades'. Your hands get fked up and it's literally pure pain to play. But you dropped your pocket money on it at Gamestop, so you don't have the heart to return it for much cheaper. So you play it. Your hands are bleeding. It's so broken. Looking at MHW, it's like looking at a shiny new Rubiks cube and going 'why did our Rubiks cubes have razors on them in the first place????' but it has a special place in my childhood.

I had to take a break off the game for a week because when i tried gathering resources on a mission, i ran into a something called a Khezu...and yes, it clapped my cheeks >.
Dude, try to master the GunLance. You either go full tank(Guard Up and Guard Level) or go evasion. And of course Artillery. It's an amazing weapon when you equipped it with the right skills, and in a game like MH mastering other weapons MULTIPLY the playing time ❤️🤟
G-rank got me fucked up. I thought everything was dandy, my equipment is good. Until I farm a freaking G-Rank Lavasioth that hits like a freight train and killed it with 10minutes left. Had to upgrade my God forsaken Plesioth GS just to improve killing Lavasioth....screw Plesioth too. Luckily all my hunting buddies were active so I completed my Lavasioth armor with them. Top Quality content btw.
Technically Of 100% Experience Grinding of Higher ranks in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite as I can Confirm this since i reach Hr 6 right now and Many too monsters i can take as serious well not kirin and Plesioth mf hitbox
I made it to GRank using a Bow, solo play. Used bow on every monster, except my first Akantor. I learned to use a hammer just to kill Akantor. Upgraded my bow, then hunted Akantor with it.

Honestly.. For me MHFU wasn't hard when it comes to the big monster.. But the mobs when you fight the monster. Mhp3rd's AI was a blessing because the mobs immediately go far away from you when you fight the big monster unless you get closer to them. And then there is Rhnoplos, Uroktor and Bulfangos. I'm a Bow user, so Mobs are annoyance in MHFU. Unlike next generations.
