    i can't thank you enough for this video, the donut tutorial just wasn't cutting it .
    i got to episode eleven before i realized i didn't even remember what i learned in episode two , despite the fact i was closely following along the entire way through , and that was partly the issue , i was just following along . i tried restarting and even taking notes like it was an actual class , but then that just took the fun out of it , so now i'm watching this video as a refresher , and it's helping me out so much more than the donut tutorial did
    not to hate on the donut tutorial , but this is just so amazingly better for people in my position where even though they followed the tutorial and made the donut , they were basically just copying the work he was doing . thank you a million times over dude

    SO just fyi, if one is learning blender via tutorial and switching between the video and the software on different screens and then forgets to click into blender again before pressing 1 to look front on, they will be taken straight to 6.25 and immediately jump-scared by Suzanne the Monkey overlaid with a scream. 😂 Theoretically... Totally didn't happen to me many.. many times. 😅
    In all seriousness though! This tutorial was amazing and so very helpful! I am so thankful for finding you. I've tried a couple of times over the years to start learning blender after playing around in DAZ Studio for years and wishing I could make my own meshes but this is definitively the farthest I've ever gotten and I am so proud of my little low poly scene. 🥰 I'm nearly finished the second vid in the series but stuck on the bike. I'm going to move on to geometry nodes for a bit and come back to it with fresh eyes. Thank you so so much for taking the time to make these amazing, informative tutorials! ❤

    • @SpicySpinosaurus
      @SpicySpinosaurus 6 месяцев назад +1

      Also just want to say that as a beginner, the shortcuts are so overwhelming so I really really appreciate that you repeat them every single time because it becomes somewhat of a mantra and makes it easier to learn. Shift A, mesh, cube, tab edit mode, G Z 1, tab object mode, scale it down. Pretty sure most of that is from the second tutorial. But I will remember it and probably think it every time I add a new mesh to the viewport for a long time to come. 😂

    2 minutes in and you have already provided so much more information than so many others. And you have done it in such an easy to understand way. Your organization is absolute top tier! Thank you so much for making this! As a viewer I can clearly tell how seriously you take this and also how much you love making these videos. P.S. The cheat sheet is a god-send. Joey, I thought I should point out that the "F9" hotkey is not a "construction history" but a "last action" meaning if you click on the object after fiddling around with other objects or even moving the object "F9" won't allow you to define the parameters again. I spent hours watching and rewatching the video trying to get back to the parameters with "F9". i thought my keyboard was broken. so I tried that hotkey on three different keyboards. googled and searched what was going on and found what happened. I still love the tutorial, don't take this as a criticism in ANYWAY. I still don't understand the workings of Blender to even suggest if a construction history would even work much less make a suggestion for a cool addon that would allow you to reconfigure the parameters way after the fact, but it would be awesome if it were possible.😁

      If you are interested in being less destructive with modeling, you should check out the modifiers and geometry nodes

    OMG! I absolutely love the way you teach. you have a wonderful style that helps beginners like me feel at ease. i've been trying to get going on the more complex modeling but always get stuck on the simple stuff like user interface and how the heck do i find the "fill-in-the-blank" because other tutorials assume the user somehow intuitively knows where stuff is and how to get back to things just opened up? I usually spend more time trying to find the cube i just made and how to center it on the screen before i just give up and walk away. thanks for understanding that and showing the little frustrating things and anticipating that beginners can get lost and overwhelmed. i almost wish that blender would have a tab just for beginners and progressively add tabs as you learn new skills. and I simply love your avatar! so cute. please keep teaching and, i haven't checked, but do u do a video on how you made the avatar?

      I'm happy to help. My next video is about how I make my avatar scenes, but I also have a playlist about character modeling that will have better step-by-step videos

    I highly recommend anyone new to Blender to go into Edit -> Preferences -> Navigation, and under orbit & pan, tick on depth next to auto. This will let you scroll in as much as you want and won't slow down the zoom.
