    wooah that trick with the jacks and the extension cable is fucking genius!

    this is honestly a pretty genius way of rehousing it. It requires no desoldering. A question about the switch. Can it be a traditional spst switch or does it have to be a "normally open" switch? I ask because I have a behringer FX600 and the switch is a "normally open" switch.

    • @zurowetz
      @zurowetz  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you unless you can do more with the switch than turning it on and off I don't think it matters I have another switch first and then I changed it and then I changed it again because I wanted the switch for another thing I also have a video on the super fuzz sf300 and if I remember correctly I use a dpdt on that but I don't remember anyway hope this helps 👍😃👍

    Main reason I'm interesting in rehousing pedals is I like pedals that sadly are not easily found or justify the money they cost plus I want them to have a proper aluminum enclosure that is durable and capable of handling hits and scratches plus reducing RF interference. For example there's the boss fz-2. This one's no longer being made and the price on second hand market is ridiculous. It makes sense for me to buy the SF300 and rehouse it for long durability

      Awsome then you should totaly do it 👍😁 I just bought sf 300 and an working on a new video making it even easyer to rehouse behringer pedals 🤓

      @@zurowetz You showed us how to actually do this in a way that makes total sense. I've asked my tech to rehouse a behringer pedal in the past and He very much did not want to mess with such a complicated board. Neither him nor myself thought to just keep the pots, keep the jacks, and solder in the switch. I believe behringer work well enough as plastic pedals, But now I can rehouse a few and give them out as gifts without me looking like a jackass for handing out behringer pedals. Thank you, sir.

    im a bit confused with what you did with the jacks (input output) where do you get those connection wires?

    • @zurowetz
      @zurowetz  2 года назад

      yeah looking back on it now i could have done a better job of explaining it. its just a patch cable cut in half and then I have stripped the ends back and solderd them to the new jacks. the resan why they look so wired in the video is because i didn't have a thin one to use (something like a Harley Benton FPC-10 Flat Patch Cable) so i used what i had laying around and cut the plastic to fit and used hot glue to cover it i hope this helped if you have more questions let me know 👍

    Respectfully I disagree. I think its fun to rehouse the Behringer SF300. The circuit is as far as surface mount goes well engineered. The sheer volume of what that company can produce with their own city in China & 10 000 employees & global distribution means almost nobody can compete with them on price vs performance. Its still the most sold pedal in the sweetwater inventory.
    That said they are hit & miss. Some are utter CRAP. But the SF300 isn't one of them. Its one of their best. Also Behringer manufacture quite a number of the "quality" components found in the
    " boutique" pedals. Simply because if they didn't make em. Nobody else would have the industrial muscle to supply the entire world. In closing. I think people have a negative bias because the plastic housing has the charisma of a steaming Yak turd. What better way of personalising a generic clone of a clone. Than housing it in an enclosure YOU designed?

    • @zurowetz
      @zurowetz  Год назад +1

      Yes I know what you mean I have a sf300 now and its good 👍 i have sense i make this video done 2 more on the behringer rehousing 😁 if you are having fun keep it up and don't let some guy on the internet tell you other wise even if its me😉

      @@zurowetz Thanks mate. I found modding the Behringer was a cleansing thing for exorcising my tone snob demons. Added a buff & blend from Pedal parts Australia. It just re injects a variable amount of the dry signal which is kind of essential for my bass to be well....a bass. My Bass rig is worth over Au $5 K & it ROCKS not just me. But the whole damn street I live on. Hahaha! 👹Gotta say its just bigtime FUN! I'm now totally addicted to DIY pedal design. I think its the best if not the ONLY way for YOU to create YOUR unique tone. Keep on doing what you're doing. 👍 Cheers

    How did u connect the power input?

    • @zurowetz
      @zurowetz  3 года назад

      I solder two cables from the power in on the pcb. if you have a multimeter it's easy to find the ground. if you don't its the one in the back (at least its on mine and i think it's the same on all three pedals) then I bought a new plug for power in with threads in so I could put it in the enclosure. if you look at the power supply you are going to use there is a symbol that shows you if the outer part or the inner part is ground and then you can conect the wires how you want. hope this helps ✌
