The downpipe scenario is the exact reason i went catless. Cheaper, sounds better in my opinion, and no issues with cats blowing out or melting. Only issue is the smell
Hey Adam I have an issue with my TTE710 on my sq5. Was wondering if you ever experienced the car going into limp mode or just absolutely no power randomly. I’m using IE tune stage 3 plus hpfp rs injectors . When it happens , if I step on the gas the turbo spins and wines real loud and the car barely moves. No cel either 🤦♂️. Any help would be appreciated 😁 Thx
Wow, that doesn't sound good. Have you logged the car or informed IE of the situation? Nothing like that ever happened to me when I ran that turbo and tune.
@@VancityAudi ya Ive informed them of the situation and have to send them logs but I’m pretty sure that won’t help as it really random . Sometimes even does it on startup and all I have to do is shut it down and restart it and it’s fine . Really weird
Hey! Thanks so much for video documenting your journey! I have a question: I have a 2020 SQ5 and I have a cold air intake, turbo inlet, intercooler and high flow cat downpipe. I am considering buying the TTE-810 and going stage 3 in the spring. If I do, I am ONLY going to run the 93 octane fuel. Would I still need the HPFP, map sensors and RS injectors? Or are those necessary for hybrid fuel only? Thank you so much in advance for any feedback!
No, you don't need those upgrades to run 93. With that said you to get the most out of the turbo you'll want to upgrade those parts so you can squeeze more out of it running 93 octane fuel. You can find this info on IE's website here: performancebyie.com/collections/ecu-software-tunes/products/ie-audi-3-0t-turbocharged-performance-ecu-tune-fits-2017-2020-b9-s4-s5
Looking forward to an update on the downpipe situation. I'm waiting for mine to arrive and I'm hoping that problem is not due to low quality catalysts being used 😬
With some of these cars being worth 35k us with 50k miles, it gives me an option besides the bmw 340i. Is it s reliable platform as the b58? Are there any big issues? I found your channel searching for upgrade possibilities after finding out the price of some of these. I see you reply to most comments and that's very kind of you as dreading as it might be.
I always try and answer when people ask real questions and aren't being a$$holes. My car in particular has been extremely reliable. There have been some standard thermostat and water pump failures that I know of. There have also been some more expensive rocker arm failures. I personally think they are less common than people make them out to be, but they certainly do exist. I'd take an EA839 in a heartbeat over a b58. I'm biased of course, but I think they're pretty badass for a completely stock motor & transmission able to run 9's.
I definitely think that could be the issue it could also be causing excessive heat in the cat and causing the separation. What diameter pipe is the stock exhaust .
@@topsecretmx5142 it isn't the issue. Integrated Engineering has tuned their cars using a full OEM exhaust other than the midpipes and downpipe upgrade that I'm running.
Probably not. In order to utilize a full frame turbo to its full potential you'd need a built bottom end. I already have a racecar and don't want to dump that much money into this car too. That's the way things are looking for me now at least.
Great video! Did you consider some catback exhaust maybe after this? On that level of power surely helps even with resonators just bigger pipe diameter?
I haven't yet, no. IE managed to get everything they could out of the 810 safely with a stock exhaust plus their downpipe & and midpipes, which I already have installed.
I see adam upload, I click watch! Still want to see someone go with a aftermarket turbo with larger housings like a precision! start tuning yourself nobody else is reputable ;)
Nobody else is reputable? Lots of companies are providing great tuning solutions for these vehicles. It will be very cool though once we get to the point of strapping on bigger turbos onto fully built motors and seeing what they can do.
@@whackaify Different context.... I don't trust anyone to do a custom tune on my RS3. As for reputable tuners for a B9, there are plenty for OTS tunes. If you meant a reputable tuner to do a custom tune on a B9, then yes, you are correct. I don't know of any reputable one's to do a custom tune.

Not in a lot of places. I prefer running a catted downpipe in my daily driver simply due to it being much quieter and less obnoxious than a catless downpipe.
I h8 decat smell, but for this setup it is better to go catless. Also catless you can make a bit more power, any “high flow” cat still chokes the turbo :(
No one has shown any proof that a catted downpipe chokes the turbo on this platform, so I'm not sure what you're referring to. Have any evidence of this claim?
@@VancityAudi I don’t have any hard evidence to show, also I have no benefit to lie or tell BS. Same tuner did a custom tune for the S4 B9, same setup, the only difference was cat gesi gen2 6” 400 cells vs decat. Catless showed a bit better graph and extra 20hp. You might do a test yourself, but probably with the canned OTS tune you wont see a difference.
@Sheban not accusing you of lying. Was just asking for proof seeing as I have never seen anyone post test results like you're talking about. According to what you're saying, there may be a gain to be had. Keep in mind as well the IE downpipe is a 200CEL and not a 400CEL like they used in the testing you're talking about. Not sure I fully understand your comment. I have no sound issue. I love the way it sounds. Also the back pressure is caused because of the design of the engine and hybrid turbo, not because of the exhaust. I think the whole catted vs catless downpipe test may be what I'll be doing in the near future though.
