Mike for sure. His ability to keep the bass simple and let EVH do the talking and his massive vocal harmonies were a key component in their sound. It's too bad Mike was replaced by Wolfie however I saw them with Wolf and he was very talented and as we all know now he got his dad's genes. I get the family aspect of it.
Yep I remember when a new VH song was announced and about to be played after the break. I was glued to the radio patiently waiting and once I heard Alex’s drums kick in I knew it was them. His drums just pop different.
I forgot the song I'll have to dig it up LIVE but Alex as adding double bass to the groove live it sounded so sick.

I agree that Mike was a big part of it, but, as stated, in the video, I think Alex’s contribution was massive.
