Hook City you are off the HOOK MAN!
I can not explain how much I enjoy and relate to your love and fun in the whole gamut of fishing, A-Z. Man your Expressions and little funnies are over the top and literally cracks me up through out your show and when I start watching whatever you are doing, I can’t put my phone down! You are the most entertainment, down home, and crazy to bone passionate in your fishing show/videos that I have ever watched.
Thank You MAN for being Who You Are👏🏾👏🏾💯🙏🏾✝️👍🏾😁💯💯💯
I really do appreciate the support and kind words man. I think you just helped me to keep on keeping on
Thank You for taking the time to respond, Sir. You are off the chain funny, good at your sport, and educational. Man I could go on and on about the passion and enthusiasm you have‼️👍🏾👏🏾😁💯
Legit video from beginning to the very end. I don't typically watch 36 minute videos especially when it is a catch and cook. It was perfect from your reactions and demeanor to the very fine simple details like drying the filets and consistent oil temperatures. I honestly teared up a little when you took that first bite. It reminded me of my Dad preparing some broiled flounder that we caught in Galveston years ago. Please don't ever stop making videos. First time watcher and subscriber and proud to represent 817 Fort Worth,Tx.
Yummy I want to fish with you
That looking good
You are the first person to prayed over food I like that I will keep watching.
Bluegills are so underrated. They are one of the best eating fish out there..
Hands down
The best fresh there is...even better than specs or crappies
shhhh, don't let it out. People will start keeping them and less for you and me
They're super good and I agree with you but my favorite is still rainbow trout until I try more than just trout catfish and gills.
Catfish most underrated, spot, croaker, bluegill, swai, talapia, flounder,Goldfish,Koi etc etc etc BUT BEST BY FAR IS PUFFER FISH 🐟
My favorite fish is the one I get in the boat and then in the pan. . . and its good to see a man giving thanks for the fish to the creator of the fish
That fish looked so good. Appreciated the prayer. Such a well done video. Thank you.
My friend, this video on catchin' and cookin' Blue Gill was very good to watch. Keep On Keepin' On
the sound he makes after the first bite of the sandwich is priceless
I am a strange person. Cancer took my ability to eat but I enjoy vids like your catch, clean and cook bluegill vid from 3 yrs ago.
"Mmmmmhh" ..as he turns and walks away chewing, and starts to cry from sheer pleasure..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
CLASSIC💣💥👊🏾💯
The "CRUNCH" when he took that bite! Good Lawd!
Amen bro! 💯
"Hand size, pan size!" Great motto to live by.. I'm a crappie fan myself but that sammich.. Lord Jesus!!
Blue Gill is a better fillet the bigger they get were most the they are the fillets are not always as good. Blue Gill is always good cut bait for stripp , keep it up fellas i like the show you talk clean comradery with your family and all
Absolutely fabulous. Are there any fishing vacation packages in that area?
There is no finer tasting fish living in America's lakes and streams. Your sandwich was a thing of beauty. Thanks.
Really? I plan on trying my first time tomorrow! I’m not sure how seasonal they are though
@@christianleeperrr7641;' I used to have the best luck in the springtime but did quite well in Autumn by knocking down wasp nests in the barn and using the larvae for bait. Best of luck to you.
@@christianleeperrr7641 yes, u can simply fry them with seasoning and flower and you'll be amazed at how good they come out.
Man I am a 51 year old Louisiana man who has been fishing since I could pick up a pole. Gotta tell ya, I am impressed with all aspects. The way y'all catch, they way y'all clean and how you cook. Great job.
"We gonna get the family fed. . ." #Respect. Be Blessed Hook City!
I prefer Crappie but the way you prepared that Blue Gill Sandwich qualifies you as a "Sandwichista"! Pure work of art!! Thanks for the vid!
I’m 77 years old and u just taught me something new, thanks bro.
I lived in Waco for a short time , now I wish I was back , this has been the best fishing video I've seen ! You made this Polish person Hungry and I need to go fishing ! Please take it from someone who lost his Father at a , young age Enjoy your times together , Thank You for sharing !
I wish my Dad were around to see this, he loved catching blue gills
Mine loved catching anything
Mine too.
7:28 "Cut his head, you got tail" I come here for the funny comments as much as for the bluegill fishing.
Ken, great video. It is good to see you spending time with your dad fishing. We really enjoy your sense of humor, and it is good to see you giving thanks to our lord and God.
Thanks for the support man!
I also appreciate that I didn't have to tolerate any of the cussing and swearing that accompanies so many of the videos now days. It was really refreshing.
Crappies because they are a little bigger. But those some righteous Blue Gills...😎
I just picked up fishing I'm in the process of buying a boat. This was great motivational video. Nothing like spending great quality memorable time with family. Than you sir!
How about Whittings
What's the name of that season; and where can u find it???
Ok I'm starving no cap!!! I need me one of them samiches!!!!
Best catch, clean and cook ever! My first Hook City TV video. I subscribed! Love how your family is involved, you shared the catch with others and you prayed before you ate. Also had me laughing hard too. That sandwich looked absolutely delicious. Thanks
THAT WAS TORTURE! You ain’t right man. That sammich looked so so good. 😋
Sammich ? SAMMICH ? That's no Sammich....lol...That's a By God american made delicacy ..........
Bluegill
Love it all brother even tha cat fish river fishing brother makes a great day
Bluegill are my favorite of all the fish. I do love crappie and catfish, but nothing tastes better to me than a bluegill.
I am with ya, bluegills are number 2 on my list of favorites, just one tick behind rock bass, some call them red eyes in these parts.
Must’ve never had a California trout
@@trillmoney3147 Never have, but if they are in the salmon/trout family it is unlikely I would like it.
@@trillmoney3147 what is a California trout exactly? And are we talking rainbow, brown, Brook, golden,or cutthroat? Personally my favorite are cutthroat but I am intrigued and curious and would be interested in getting down there one of these days and catching some!!
Great clip! Looks like a lot of fun fishing with family, I’m going to try your mustard recipe looks yummy! Tight Lines 🎣
We all took a vote and decided you need your own cookn show! I’m a Chef, and I gotta tell ya, your a great teacher and everything was spot on! Nice job. I’m starving now! And I wanna go fishn. Thank you. And blessings
Man I'd love to go fishing with these guys.. I'm the same way out there, positive vibes all around
Y'all amazing hook city i want to be just like y'all when I grow up!😎😂😂
Yall the truth!
I watched the fishing and was impressed with the size of the gills. Then I watched the cooking, man you killing me, best looking sammich I ever saw.
When you started crying I cried too my good brother 🤣🤣🤣💪🏾
I loved it. Bluegill is for sure one of the best tasting fish. Great presentation!! thank you
Bluegills are the best....especially when you making fish-N-grits!!!!
That thang PREACHED at the end! My sons are begging for blue gill now!
This is the first time I’ve come across one of your videos. I really, really enjoyed it. Just some good people, having a good time and are grateful for it. Keep the videos coming brother. Great job!!
Hook City! Glad I found you on the tube! Enjoy watching your videos, and the tight nit fishing family time!
Dude, I love the catch clean and cook's ! ! You need to try scaling, and leaving the tail and fins and skin on when cooking. The tail, especially, is like a tater chip, and the skin gives more flavor. I would love to hear more on how to locate bluegill from the shore on an unfamiliar lake if you could help.
If you cook them right you can filet them with your fork
I too enjoy the whole fish fried and the tail taste incredible.
He does do them whole as well and he is a very good teacher. Been watching his vids a while.
If I went by that motto: "hand size is pan size" here in Cali I would starve to death man. lol Those bluegills are some bigguns!! Great video.
It's hit or miss here in Pa. Getting them that big are trophy size.
@@beebob1279 same for michigan, that first 1 he put back is what I fill a stringer with. Maybe they get bigger in the great lakes idk
In CO they stock a few local reservoirs
@@TheEporterfilm I live in colorado and I fish t barr lake they get about hand size in that body of water
Great video! I've been catching bluegill and other sunfish my whole life, but we just used them to bait the trot line. My son caught a monster sunfish tonight, and we decided to cook it along with a small catfish. Your video was exactly what we needed. Thanks!
I like them both . Although I believe there are more bluegill than crappie . I could be wrong but I know I've caught more bluegill in my life and I'm 57 , and been fishing since age 3 .
I live in Florida, but will travel for one of those "Blue Gill" Sammachis and the fine company.
John...Okeechobee is loaded with them
LOL. I would too.
Yeah I'm up here in Baltimore and I 2nd that
Where are they located. I live in fl too.
Try Rodman Dam/Reservoir. It's near Palatka, FL and Interlachen, FL
Maaaan, Hook City my stomach touching my back looking at that Bluegill sammich!!!
One of the most enjoyable vids I've watched in awhile. Keep'em coming big bro
You are my new hero . You are one funny yet informative guy. I love that you fish with your dad. It brought tears to my eyes, wishing that i could have just one more fishing trip with mine. And yes, you made me HAWNGRY.LoL
I like that cleaning station setup. When the fun is over the work starts. Good show.
Me too
Boy...you crazy....I don’t know if I enjoyed the fishing more or you cooking/eating. Awesome job sir....Keep up the good work!!
Got to have the hot sauce tho
Hey man your show was great looking for more I blue gills try cooking the tails man o man try it i b looking for it Randolph
Love the blue gill sandwich. I like the catch, clean and cook. Take doing those. 👍🏽🐟
I thoroughly enjoyed your show. I felt like I was right there with you! You remind me of Good times, good health and Good friends! Keep up the good work with that down home feel!
Crappie all the way around. But I love catching bluegills too. They are a close second!!!!!
Redears are the best too me.
In MN crappies are softer meat than bluegills and gills have a bit more flavor. All good though when you get out for your own fish catching.
@@aaronalto3034 You have to catch them in cold water and it's way better. That's my 1 and 2 and morgans are my number 3. Morgans just have a sweet firm meat that's right up there with one and two. Flathead's are number 4. Those are the funnest to catch. We always use set hooks or limb lines. People call them different things but the flats came through our river decided to wipe everything out just about. If you catch a redbreast now it's a miracle. That would be my number 1 but we never keep a read breast beecause they are disappearing so fast.
Dr. Robert Neville Not at all they are in a class all by themselves
My God brother, I was telling my wife you remind me of my father in law (her father) who’s an Pastor and fisherman from West Palm Beach, Fl. I love your enthusiasm for fishing especially catching, cleaning, and cooking. My Father in Law always say, I don’t fish for fun, I fish to survive. Then I call him greedy for a great laugh because I know he loves fishing like you guys. Great video! You got a new subscriber. I encourage you to keep them coming and God bless you all.
Man loved the video. You keep me rolling on the floor with your dialogue and you flat out fish and cook!
Tough decision, love fishing and eating both Crappies and Bluegills. Another great video, makes me hungry just watching you folks catching fish and then cooking them.
Hey buddy, me and my dad were just watching this video and thought it was very interesting and informative with many great laughs in there as well 😄 very nice video once again and we're going fishing!
That prayer added extra flavor, man.
"I'm getting jittery. Yall know I'm a big man." Hahaha I feel ya there. Looks great!
As a kid I did much fishing in Arkansas. Some of you may be surprised how hard a bluegill sometimes can hit your line.
And these fish are consistently huge.
Dude I learned something new regarding the cooking, I’ve never tried the mustard to hold the corn meal and never waited still the end of cooking to season my fish, thanks for the come up👍
Yea fam I really enjoyed the video. Your commentary and love for the craft was amazing truly brought joy to my heart. Tell grandma we said thank you too, they did a good job teaching you!!
Probably the best bluegill sandwich catch and cook on you tube that I've seen so far. I also like red ear sunfish aka shellcrackers. Thanks!
1st let me say the video is so entertaining. You touched me right away because you were with your dad. I think it is a beautiful thing to see fathers and sons together, but when the son is grown. OMGOODNESS!!! i just started fishing late last summer, and must say that I am addicted. I went from being too squeamish to cut and bait my own hook to having my own knife and opening razor clams. This video has me eager to do the cleaning part. You make it look so easy. Also, as someone who loves to cook and try new methods, I will try the mustard next time. I just knew you would put some hot sauce on the fish. The sandwich was still beautiful. Loved that you said grace, for we know where all of our blessings come from.
I have a tip, which you may know already. To get ride of the "burnt oil taste", strain the oil to get rid of the residue, I do it while it's hot if I need it right away, but waiting until it's cold is fine. After straining, cut a potato and fry it in the oil. It cleans it.
Please market your motto. I certainly would buy a t-shirt.
Thank-you and looking forward to more videos.
Brotha this was special!!! You had me crying when you started to eat. I have subscribed and will be watching.
Probably the best I've ever seen on a CCC. And we been doing it my whole life. Good job bro.
Yes sirrr🍴👍🏾 bluegill my favorite to catch crappie my favorite to eat thats some good eating u got there brother great video🔥🔥🔥
That reaction was the best! 🤣
Great tutorial. That sandwich made me want to jump through the video. I learned a lot. The cleaning, cooking was just what I needed. Your prep for cooking fish looks like it will work with any pan fish. Thanks. Keep the videos coming.

Walleye cheeks are good too
*Hand Size PAN size* oh yeah that's the way
d
Oh yes!
Great video of catch clean and OMG cook them bluegills. I'm ready to go fishing and eat some bluegills. 👍
My moms uncle Joe was all about fishing and eating Bluegill. It was his primary fish to fish for. His second favorite was Perch. He taught us all about them, how to catch and clean them. We would all go out for them, come back and in an hour or so later he would have fifty or more cleaned and cooking, usually just in a cast iron pan with butter and a sprinkle of paprika, but then some times he felt like the egg wash and cornmeal batter. Good times, good fish. Liked your video, will try the mustard and cornmeal next time fo sho.
When he said "Like that that there" you know he can cook. 😂🤣
That ain't McDonald fish sandwich it's the real deal love it keep them coming......
You know McDonalds don't have nothing on his sandwich
Shellcrackers ,but I eat them all
Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Especially the highlight on cleanliness!
Great catch clean & cook video. Fish looked delicious
Wait a minute! When you poured out that bucket...... Hee Hawwwww
Bro .. that was a lovely sammitch...lol wow that looked go.... I was raised on blue gill...
Thank you for sharing your videos sure making me hungry and blur Gil is one of my favorites.
I love this kind of fishing, the atmosphere they created while catching those slabs was just awesome
Nice! They call those red ears “shell crackers” around here. And it’s hard to find more fun fishing than bluegill when they’re on the bed and biting.
Love your show, this is the first one i’ve seen.
I have enjoyed this video, from start to finish. Keep them coming!
Really good video, from beginning to end. 👍🏿🐟🐟🐟
Please tell me you saved the back bones of those babies. That’s my favorite part of the fish. I have a good fish fry and I’ll feed everybody the fillets and when I’m wanting fish I fry up the backbones and have myself a feast. Another great video brother. Keep up the good work. If I ever make it to Texas imma hit you up to catch some of those big pretty things lol.
I'm with you my man. I love those backbones too. I always save them for catfish and crappie.
Interesting. I'll have to try that after filleting. I hate wasting any meat and love crispy fins and tails.
Never had that but sounds good !
Damn. That’s some good eaten. I have cleaned hundreds of bluegills back in the day. And enjoyed eating every one. 😋
I'm hooked! Loved the catching and cooking, Keep them coming because I will be looking forward to watching.
will do, thanks for the support
LOVE hookcity!! "WE ANT AT ARBY'S BUT WE GOT THE MEAT"!!! Love the fun and excitement!!
I sure would like to find some bluegill here in East TN big enough to make filets like that!!
You making me hungry for some bluegill.
They are here man. I can think of several in the area where 8-11 inch bluegill are not uncommon. You might not get 97 in a trip but you'll get enough for a good mess.
Way to get after em. Pound for pound that bluegill fight harder than crappie. I eat em both. I would be a fan of catch, clean, and cook cause of the different techniques people use. It look absolutely delicious. Keep em coming.
Cool way to make a bluegill taste good. I'm impressed and love your style, you made me laugh a couple of times and that's important. One love.
I have enjoyed all your videos I have watched. Showing the cooking is great. I am hungry just watching and will try that taste and tangy.
