My usual setup would be a 5 foot ultra light spinning rod and reel with 4 lbs test and a gold eagle claw hook tippes with wac worms or crawler pieces and a small foam bobber

Getting old seems like a blessing until you have a stroke. If I made it in the boat I would probably fall in and drown which might be a blessing as a stroke seems like a cures.

I love catching bluegill. I have never seen someone catch that many large bluegill at one time. Those are huge. Great birthday gift, you're living right. There's nothing better than fishing with your dad.
If you ever want big bluegill in numbers hit toldo bend catch huge bluegill all day take a nap limit out crappie at night
