Back in the '70's I used to fish at a golf course in Southern California and actually caught a 4 1/2 lb sun fish while fishing largemouth bass. The '70's were so much fun. No politics, no cell phones, no drama. Be safe all...

My ex bro-in-law turned me onto it . Creek fishing and was using what i always did . Little open face Daiwa ultra-lite with 4lb line . My first was about 8 inches long and it almost pulled the rod outta my hand ! Lol - caught a few small ones that day . Well , he took me to a different , deeper creek and told me to bring my largemouth setup . Glad he did ! Caught my pb that was 5-14 and it was the best/longest fight i've ever had with a fish . Creek was up and had some current and she used it to her advantage ! By the time i got her in , i had indentions in my knuckles 😂😂

Lake Havasu is one of my favorite places to fish. You should go fish rainbow pools in Groveland California right outside Yosemite. The biggest and prettiest Native rainbow trout you will ever see. You have to do a 20-minute hike but it's so worth it. I travel there from Texas every year because it's that incredible. I fish behind the old sawmill. above rainbow pools. Dig a hole right on the bank and use the native live worms.

Ty you shown us several giant bluegill in your videos. They look like they're puffed out beyond all possibility. I imagine a bluegill like that exploding underwater rather than growing old!

Are you eating those sunfish?, glad you adjust your drag. You should use ultrallite gear when fishing.

What I find fascinating is what an abundant food source they have to grow so big. Just barren hills surrounding what looks like a reservoir. No swamps to attract bugs, lizards or frogs. Im baffled by what they must have to eat down there.
And this may be a stupid question, but could they be artificially fed? We stock lakes and rivers with fish, so it's entirely concievable we feed them also. Just askin..

Ty you're gonna make me give Kastking one more time. It's been a few years. And if I knew where sunfish like that were, that might be all I ever wanna catch. When they turn sideways and get to kicking that tail like a tuna there's nothing better.
