Emma is patient and more consistent from the back now, not as anxious, it's a good sign because she's playing close now to how she played at the US Open. As her confidence returns she'll start to realize again how good she actually is. Emma did well in the last tournament as well being beaten by Iga Świątek in Stuttgart, but there's absolutely no shame in that given how amazing Iga has been playing recently.

This is probably the match that is most promising for Emma's remaining 2022 and possibly for her career moving forward. Her fight after being down 5-2 in that first set speaks worlds about where she is mentally vs. any of her matches since the USO where the fight and motivation just didn't seem to be there. Her strategy is almost perfect on this surface, too, very Hingis-like - mixing her shot making up and moving her opponent around the court, then go for the kill shot. This is a very good sign.

I think he wanted to expand her shot selection more, instead of the US Open where she kinda just beat the ball it the opponent till she won. But it worked. And it’s clearly still working. She’ll need to add more selection to her game eventually but not much point in forcing it prematurely when she’s so good at painting lines with ground strokes. That’s just imo though.

Emma Raducanu is awesome tennis player. She is great fighter and very beautiful, sexy and hot. Overall she played great. Teresa Martincova also played great, but she wasn't able to match Emma Raducanu's level. In the second set Emma Raducanu proved why she is defending US Open champion. She can win matches, if she is focused and doesn't let anything to distract her. She today played like a true champion. I hope that she can keep on praying at this level. I think she's still proving herself that her US open win was not a fluke and today's match is one that can build a lot of confidence for her fighting spirit. Remember in the US open she never had to make a come-back, actually she didn't drop a set!

@@fourthmwu I think Torben was trying to turn into more of a Kerber, defensive type player, but Emma is naturally aggressive. She doesn't need to be over coached, she's intelligent and can figure things out for herself. It was just a bad match up.
