The average person will spend 12 years of their life (4 hours and 37 minutes each day) staring at their phone. Seeing this literally made my stomach drop, so I've been on a mission to figure out how to take back some of this time.
I thought I would share the 3 key phases and a bunch of tips that have helped me the most in making my phone something that supports my productivity, instead of harming it.
Whether you want to reduce your screen time, beat your phone addiction, make your phone less distracting, or just set your phone up so it improves your life...
I hope this helps 🤍

Hi, I've watched several of your videos. You are amazing. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Would you please consider not using persistent background music? Background music and sound effects create an additional unpleasant cognitive load. When people are speaking it is unnecessary to have background music or sound effects. A little bit of music goes a long way. Music is okay when people are singing. Music is okay used in small amounts when people are NOT talking (but it is still unnecessary). For people who are listening to their own music, your music is just interfering. For people who are hard of hearing, who speak the video language as a second language, for people who are on the spectrum/neurodivergent, or have other learning challenges, then any background music or sound effects are always extra challenging. Also, for people who are listening to the video speeded up or slowed down, then the music becomes unpleasantly distorted. Please consider just leaving it out and/or at least making a music-free version of the video and prominently offering the link to it. Thank you.
