Same, I turned 50 last October and skated through the 80s and 90s. Recently got wrist guards and started rolling around in the park. I dont get as discouraged as I'm stoked that I can still do some tricks, grinds.

Its refreshing to see someone comiting to every trick and not afraid of making a fool of themselves bailing. Just seeing Bailing in itself is refreshing as these things happen in the real world.
100%, bailing is half the sport and most of the times people just film the lands, but the bail is a huge part of learning so you make the next land

I’m 54 and started rollerblading at 35, ice skating at 36, skateboarding at 40, snowboarding at 45. Still progressing at everything. Age only slows you down a bit, it’s no excuse to give up completely.
Now you have to start BMX at 55 👍🏻
Do u get self conscious being out on your board ?? I'm pushing 50 - and just feel bit self conscious I guess skating in public (like when I was literally 16!!!)
@@mrtambourineman6107 i skate for myself, not for everyone else, so I don’t care what others think of me. I look much younger than my age too which helps a bit, I guess.
Just started skating again this Christmas. Stopped at 15. Turned 47 in January. Wanting to teach my son. No better way than to do it with him right. Nice to see the love continuing for all.
Same her man. Im 41 and my son seems to be a little lost in what direction to go and he really seems to like skateboarding. I havent skate since 12 so im an absolute beginner, and for now we're just having fun in the driveway together goofing around. Inspiring to watch this man flying around like a teenager.

Yes sir, like Purple said, once we turned old enough to drive, we quit skating. GET BACK AT IT, you'll be amazed at the muscle memory you'll feel comfortable in no time. Plus, It's a great workout for us ...older people. :)

Go for it! I'm 41 and just got back into it 8 months ago after about a 25-year hiatus. There are more of us out there than you may think.

Learning how to fall is so crucial and no one talks about it. Doing martial arts and especially Judo breakfalls have helped me in some nasty slams on my bike. RESPECT, PURPLE!

Dude, I'm almost 50, and have been skating since I was 11. Never actually stopped, just had a few years of not skating as much. It's not as easy as it used to be, and I'm a little more conservative in what obstacles I skate, but I definitely still skate a decent amount and can still bust out a LOT of tricks. Keep pushin' on, Homies!!
