Good video. Without many dead mallers in this area of SC, this mall didn’t get the attention it deserved on the final days. One of the shop owners told me the mall had difficulty getting to this point of redevelopment because it is actually divided on three or four pieces of land that was previously owned by different family members. Good luck with your channel with future posts. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of malls left in a few hour radius if you live in the Myrtle area. It’s going to be a lot of traveling with little reward if you focus only on malls. Thanks again!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Hey there, I've seen several of your videos so its a pleasure to see you ran into my video. I'm glad I was able to make the trip during its final weekend since nobody else could. I'm in the Upstate region so it was quite the drive but I knew I had to see it. I hope to have some more videos out soon enough on other less documented malls :)

@@TheMallFoxKeep up your documenting! I have subbed! You have a good voiceover and music choices. You actually remind me of a RUclips channel “fall of the mall”. He posted a bunch of really good videos in our area but then stopped posting about a year or two ago.
Also… I just found out Inlet Square is actually still open for mall walkers. I was there a few days ago. All the inline stores are of course closed, but there were several seniors walking around. The entrance to Belk from the mall was still open and so was planet fitness. I guess they will lock the doors when it’s time to put up fencing and do the demo.

@@charlestonpinballarcade Thanks for the shout out of my series Fall of the Mall! Unfortunately I don't have the time anymore to make videos as a lot has changed for me since I made my last videos. You have put out some good mall videos as follow ups to some of the Myrtle area malls that I have enjoyed watching. I am sad to see that Inlet Square has completely cleared out now as when I was there last it was still doing decent. And to The Mall Fox good job on covering this mall, well done for your first video.

@@RetailWorld Great to hear from you! Hope all is well! Yea, I miss your vids. I still go back and watch a few now and then. Thanks for the good words. I will also run out of bandwidth to film and post, but trying to get these places before they are gone and also have some fun along the way. Stay in touch!!!

@@charlestonpinballarcade I am doing well, life is just very busy now for me. Glad to hear you enjoy my videos. I enjoyed making them and wish I was still able to make videos to cover more dying malls, but I will never say never though.

I've been there however didnt film it. The Food court is decently interesting, but being its a hull mall thats about it sadly.

@@TheMallFox yeah I don't make it back very often but it's sad compared to what it was. One end had a giant carousel when I was a kid in the early 90's

Very sad and a total waste to pull down a mall in excellent condition.

I am not an economist or an investor but my RUclips roster is full of video reports of dead and dying malls from across the country. I'm sure a hefty percentage is internet commerce. I am not necessarily against out-sourcing or great changes but when the manufacturing sector moved to Mexico and then on to Asia, not a thought was given to the millions of people left behind. I felt that government should play a role in clearing the way to help this country compete. The homeless living in tents on the pavement conspicuous but the truth is that most are living in their cars and still working. Infrastructure is one thing and access to education and re-education is another.... But suddenly college tuition became an upper class privilege and a bad risk if you are unsure about what you want to do.
A dead mall could be a great city or town college teaching skills relevant to today's needs.
You probably can get any education on the internet but people still need groups and mentors..
These schools should be free as far as your grades can carry you.

Some colleges have actually taken over dead malls. McAlister Square in Greenville SC and University Mall in Blacksburg VA. They are used as community spaces and or classrooms
