- A tour of Los Angeles' newest museum, the Academy Museum Of Motion Pictures. We really enjoyed our visit to this museum and it far exceeded our expectations! If you like movies, you'll love the Academy Museum. It's located adjacent to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and across from the Peterson Auto Museum at the intersection of Fairfax and Wilshire.
Don't miss Backdrop: "An Invisible Art,” featuring the backdrop of Mount Rushmore used in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1959 classic, “North by Northwest.”
The museum’s inaugural temporary exhibit is on display through Summer 2022: the tribute to legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki, whose films include “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Spirited Away.”

Hi Chris. Thanks for the awesome tour on the museum. A must see especially if you love movie history. I think for $25, it's worth it for all the history you can experience in one place.I'm a Star Wars fan so the character room with R2-D2 and C3PO would be awesome to check out.

How do you go there and not do the whole experience for the review?!? I wanna know about the Oscar experience
Because we didn't realize there was a paid element until we got there. And then they were out of reservations by that point
I wasn't impressed by The Oscar Experience esp. for $15. You enter by barcode based on a timed reservation, staff escorts you to a small room that has a real Oscar (heavy) on a stand and a large screen in front of you showing a large cheering audience on screen from the Dolby Theater. You pick up the Oscar, they snap a photo of you holding the Oscar and they email it to you. Basically, you're paying $15 for a photo of you holding an Oscar. The whole thing lasts maybe three minutes.
This looks great! I will definitely visit the next time I'm in LA. The Traveling Princess is getting bigger each video it seems.

Hi i bought tickets but wanted to confirm if they’re really checking proof of vaccination or negative test results?
They were checking when I visited. Not sure about now
Thankfully, they kept, and restored the façade of the May Co. department store that formally occupied the building that was built in the late 1930's.
