This entire case is horrifying...he jad a previous case years before "that got lost"..in which he had kidnapped a woman and held her captive for several days, there was enough evidence to substantiate those allegations ..but the court dropped the ball on that one. If they had prosecuted that case he may have very well been behind bars and not able to kill..

I think the defence kicked up a fuss because it was when he was in jail for a previous offence. Defendant was currently in jail awaiting trial for this case so that would have been admissible. In trials the jurors shouldn't be told about a defendant's prior convictions although in this case one doesn't need to be Columbo to work out he's probably a regular visitor.
What a desperately messed up life the victim had. She left 7 children who I hope will lead happier lives but, I fear it may be too late for the older ones who no doubt have already been damaged by the circumstances which they were raised in.

Because details are sketchy I believe the purpose of the trial is to keep Finnegan off of death row. I am just guessing that he was not offered the same plea deal of life in prison. Yes, many of her statements are self serving. It’s understandable but still annoying. Stayed with dead body all day and kept checking her pulse. Why? What’s the point of checking her pulse all day? She’s gone. Hoping somehow it would be different?
