Wrong. We can't digest fiber. Also drinking too much water flushes out minerals in your body, not good. I agree with the alcohol part and the sleep part.

I started filming when I was 316 because when I was so heavy, I felt like I couldn't weigh myself on camera for the longest time.
For me, I'm doing keto with intermittent fasting. It working, I can still have wine but not as much. I also do weight lifting at home and cardio when I can. I still work full time and sometimes more then full time at a stressful job.

The thing people don't realize that you only need to do that for 3 weeks or so. We usually eat the same brand, roughly same amount of food and measuring it for 2-3 weeks is enough for you to eye ball it from later on. It is a silly excuse we tell ourselves. 70- 80% accuracy is enough. You gradually migrate to higher efficiencies

dank:Dilly No the above post is correct. The less you weigh, the less energy your body needs to function, which means you burn less calories. So if you start of heavy, you won’t need to move much to eat. But if you are at a lower weight, trying to drop 10-20 pounds, you really need to move more. You could keep slashing calories until you starve yourself l, but that’s not healthy or safe.
I started off 6 months ago at 200 pounds. The first 20 fell off without moving. The next 10 were harder to get off, I had to cut my calories more and started working out a half hour 3 times a week. I am now down 35 pounds and I’m at a Plateau again. I am adding in more work outs and trying to make them longer. I’m already cut to 1400 calories a day which I low for a man, but I need to move to make the difference.

I started my journey this past January. January 15 to be exact. I weighed in at 197 (200 had been my heaviest) and I was only 14. I was so ashamed of my body and how unhealthy I ate. I started counting calories and exercising. I went to the gym about 3× a week with my dad which helped me lose a lot of the weight. April 21 I weighed in at 173. That same day I felt very discouraged because I wanted to keep losing, but I felt very stuck. We were in quarantine so I had to do my own exercises at home, so I thought that the only way to lose weight was to eat less, and less. It began when i stopped eating breakfast. I started with not eating one of my meals (usually breakfast) then it turned into eating less everyday. I starved myself for months. The rest of April, all of may, and most of June (up until now) I would only allow myself to eat right around 700 calories, and I would cry so so much if I ate more than that. If I'm being completely honest, it did work. I lost all the way down to about 155. But, I can't tell you awful those weeks were. The pounds dropped off, yes, but it hurt my body so much. I felt awful, I would wake up at 3am in the morning barfing up stomach acid. It felt like people were stabbing me in the stomach repeatedly. I wouldn't allow myself to eat anything "unhealthy" because if I did I would hate myself for it. I didn't eat because I felt gross if I ate too much. I exercised so much because I felt gross if I didn't. I would eat basically nothing and then exercise for hours. I missed out on so many opportunities to embrace life and treat myself once in a while. but I refused to because I thought that was the only way to lose weight. I was obsessed with weighing myself everyday. i was obsessed with counting calories. The past about 3 weeks, I've realized how unhealthy it is. I allowed myself a week to get back (extremely slowly) to eating a healthy amount, and once again if I'm being honest, it was really hard. I did not exercise at all that week. yes, i gained weight. yes, my parents basically had to threaten me to eat. It was a really hard week. but after that, I began to exercise a healthy amount, and eat a healthier amount as well, and I'm losing weight again :) at this point in time I weight 151 pounds. I turned 15 June 8. I went from wearing size 17 jeans to wearing size 9. I can wear a size 6 in shorts. I went from wearing XL and 2XL shirts to Mediums and Larges. I've lost so many inches off my waist and all over my body. I feel happy. I walk every morning, go to the gym 3× a week, the other days I do Chloe ting videos, and I eat a healthier amount. it's been about 3 weeks since I decided starving myself isn't the solution. I feel so so much better. I have a totally different mindset now. it's not about losing weight super fast, it's about losing weight, slowly, the healthy way. I promise you, it's so much more rewarding when you take it day by day. I still have my moments when I feel defeated, but it's gotten a lot better. Please please learn from my mistake. Even though it absolutely sucked what I put myself through, if I had the choice to change it I don't think I would. It really helped me grow as a person and learn a lot about my body and a healthy lifestyle. I don't see everyday as restricting myself. When I wake up in the morning I look forward to eating healthy and getting my body up and moving.

agusta cookeygam , the same with me. I don't lose weight from exercising. Neither did my ancestors who were very active.
About 70% of humans have intestinal sensor cells that produce excessive amounts of GIP, which causes the pancrease beta cells to produce excessive amounts of insulin.
Insulin causes the hypothalamus to send out the message for the body to feel hungry and to store fuel, in the form of triglycerides, in the adipose (fat) cells.
Leptin causes the hypothalamus to send the messages of feel satiated and use the triglycerides that have been stored in the adipose cells.
When the amount of insulin is excessively high, the insulin blocks the hypothalamus from detecting the leptin.
Thus, you have an obese person who is uncontrollably ravenously eating food.
I got rid of my hunger, lost the weight, and am keeping the weight off by eating 20 or fewer grams of carbs per day. My goal is to produce as little GIP and insulin as possible.

Mam u got the wrong idea I lost 26 kgs in 6 months it takes to naturally weight loss which is a better way than having a diet ,because diet depends upon indiviuals body made up and how much it recieves I think u might not have had put much effort or lack of consistency when u work out it intakes a certain amount of time period and again depend upon indiviual to loose weight ,diet makes it faster but still can't give you the natural energy

@@gprashx812 , read some of the books written by scientific researchers Jeff Volek (PhD), Stephen Phinney (PhD), and Eric Westman (MD).
Their research helped them conclude that ability to lose weight by exercising depends on DNA. Some people are genetically coded to lose weight when they exercise. Other people are genetically coded to lose little or no weight from exercise.
However, overweight and obese people are genetically coded to lose fat and keep it off when they use therapeutic fasting and when they eat in a style that reduces insulin production. "The Obesity Code" by Dr. Jason Fung, MD, explains why and how to reduce insulin. Also, the RUclips channel Nadir Mir Ali has a presentation in which Dr. Ali explains intestinal sensor cells, GIP, and insulin.

For some tracking calories can lead to an eating disorder. I find it’s better for me to stick to a diet with little processed foods, I cook a lot, and I make sure there is always a source of protein, carbs, and fat on my plate. I also don’t think it’s always sustainable for people to do excessive exercise or count calories constantly. If it works for you, great, but this isn’t the only way to live! Look at the contestants on the biggest loser, they gained all that weight back because it wasn’t sustainable. Listen to different perspectives, find what works for you. If you don’t think you can do it long term, then it’s not a good fit.

This is great! I have reduced my calories and have been tracking consistently but I haven't seen much progress. I have been working from home and I am pretty sedentary. On a busy work day, I might get in only 2,000 steps by the end of the day. I am going to commit to moving more and see how that helps.

I am no expert. Let's clear that out. But I think that saying: to lose weight it's 80% work and 20% diet is not applicable to everyone, and not applicable at every age. I'll talk about my experience: 6 years ago I started taking swimming lessons, twice a week. Lost a lot of weight the first year, fast, without ever doing a diet or making an effort to change the type of food I was eating. So, yeah, that time of my life, it was true. 80% work. And I was not even at an advance level. Took swimming classes for 3 years, so I got from level 3 to level 6, also twice a week, also without diet, burning more calories during each lesson, but I was not losing any more weight. Why? My metabolism changed in the meantime. So I think the actual answer is: it all depends on our metabolism, which is constantly changing due to many different factors, hormonal, psychological and so on. You have to work hard, and you have to count calories, for sure, because weight loss it's a matter of math really. But sometimes you might have exercise more that watching your diet, sometime the other way around.

    • @hazween23

Simply put: you must be at a calorie deficit to lose weight. Whether that means you’re eating less or exercising more- if you’re at a deficit; you will lose weight! Yes hormones and age play a role but what people fail to see is that it is notwithstanding the fact that it boils down to the caloric deficit/surplus. When we age, we lose muscle. If we don’t exercise regularly to maintain muscle mass, our metabolism declines. When BMR goes down but we still eat as much as we used to: weight gain. Simple.

Yes, being in a calorie deficit is a must, but you can't overlook what you are eating as well. 1500kcal of fast food will have a very different effect on your body than 1500kcal of whole non processed foods. Also, how feasible is it for most to burn 1000/1500kcal a day through exercise?

I've hit a plateau after 25 Kgs Loss. I've started counting calories, using MyFitnessPal app, got me a fitness monitor band, do cardio, do some strength training. But the thing is, I get a daily caloric deficit of average 1000 cal, every 8 to 10 days, but still see some ups and downs on the scale. The thing is when weighting food that's not processed or packaged it's really hard to get an acurate number of cals. What's the best Source to see Nutrition values on these types of food?

Truth! Postpartum weightloss, I had to double up on my workouts every week, 6x days min of 60 mins. Combo (slow state cardio & weightlifting) while watching my caloric intake to stay consistent with losing 1-2 lbs weekly to maintain accountability. Ideally, 4-5 months is how the process works so anything shorter will only set you up for failure. Also, women have hormones that elevate stress so that can increase weight gain too. Sleep 7+ hours every night, early AM workouts, meditation, sex, water hydration adds to the overall wellness goals.

I walk everywhere, at least 2 hours of brisk walking, a 45 minute continuous laps swim every day, 3-4 times a week of a half hour of circuit training at the gym....

Thing is people take this to mean quite literally as ‘eat whatever and however much’. You’ve prob come to a point where your body has attained a level of fitness and muscle mass that can sustain a high level of metabolism so even when you think you’re eating a lot, you’re burning calories a lot more at rest than most people who are not as fit.

I think most people just use my fitness pal, because it does all the math for you. If you want to be exact you can weigh everything, but my fitness pal lets you measure by volume too, so when I eat, for example, oatmeal I can guess that it's 1/2 cup worth and then I don't have to deal with weighing stuff all the time. It will be more exact if you weigh and/or measure things carefully though

Jillian Michael’s break down of health & weight loss makes the most sense to me than anything else I’ve ever heard.
Years ago I used her core workout DVD, modified the speed & intensity to what I could handle and decreased my food intake and I lost 100 lbs! I honestly couldn’t do more than 5 mins of workouts at first but I’d push myself just a little farther. By the end of the month I was easily doing 30 mins 6 days a week. I ended up having some female issues and couldn’t exercise for a couple months. Then I went to work around foods that were my weakness and in 2 years I put it back on. I stopped regulating my intake and exercising.
However, I’m back on track and I can’t wait to see the outcome again!

How much variability is there when calculating BMR? I’ve been told by my doctors that some people just need fewer calories and have a slower metabolism. The same doctors who say it would be good to lose 10-15 lbs, ignore questions about why a balanced approach of daily workouts & active lifestyle + good sleep + appropriate caloric and nutrient intake = no results. As a lifelong athlete and someone who has always had to track nutrition due to being a type one diabetic, it’s very frustrating to have the people who are supposed to be authorities dismiss your requests for help.

If you’re having trouble counting calories there are tons of tracking apps you can download. I’ve been using the Lose It app for about 2 months and have lost 1-1 1/2 pounds per week (I selected to lose this amount when joining, you can choose more or less). They even give you a scanning option where they will provide you with the nutritional facts just by scanning the barcode on your food item.
It allows you to track your food intake and exercise, laying out how many calories you’ve got left in a day. One of the reasons she’s saying fitness is so important is because if you exercise, you’re given more calories to eat. It’s a lot easier to eat within your calorie deficit when you’re burning extra calories! The more you burn the more you can eat! The more you exercise, the more you lose if you don’t need those extra calories! It’s a win-win.
