All I have to say is that I’m 56 years old - no spring chicken, in other words. 😜. I discovered Jillian’s workouts ten years ago...the shirt I’m wearing today was pretty snug a few years ago, but now it’s loose. Feels pretty good! 😊. I have definitely learned a bunch from her, and am grateful. 🙏
I just forwarded this video to about 100 clients! 🤩 THANK YOU!!! Btw to all the carnivores out there that don’t like to hear that red meat is actually a carcinogenic, you are risking your health everyday. Think of your family and loved ones instead of being a slave to your bad habits and tastebuds. Giving things up that are bad for you strengthen your willpower while practicing self love and healing. It is not an attack on anyone. Jillian knows what she’s talking about and her purpose is to help YOU. Take the advice. Or don’t. Your health is in your hands. Namaste 💓
Google is not the reason why I watch this. The reason is, Jillian Michaels helped me to lose 26lbs and feel strong and healthy. And when a new video pops up - can't wait to hear this new, life-changing advice :)
I purchased Jillian’s book in 2009 after my second son was born. I had 30 pounds to lose that wouldn’t budge. The information in the book is amazing. I can no longer do rockstar jumps without my knees aching but Jillian set me up for success on a lifelong journey of health and fitness. Thank-you Jillian!! 🤗
Fantastic , balanced advice.Concise and powerful. I gave up sugar a month ago as well as starting a 16/8.Sometimes pushed to 19 hours when I feel like it.
I remember so many years ago when Jillian came out with master your metabolism, great reference. If it didn’t have a mother or grow from the ground, don’t eat it.
I didn’t realize how much I was overeating until I started tracking my calories I have no idea how I’m not obese right now but I know I will drop weight if I get the calories in control 15 pounds need to go!!
Eat whole foods esp in grains, no starchy carbs, water, whole based non fried meat/poultry & diary, and no zero calories sweeteners except for erythritol and see how your body reacts. Also research fructose malabsorption
I love this woman! reasonable, down-to-earth advice which is easy to follow. also, dear Jillian, please please please make a hair tutorial! I need it so badly
*Looks up the “Ideal Human Diet”* The internet: More carbs, less carbs, more fat, less fat, more protein, less protein, no protein, vegan, with gluten, without gluten, more dairy, less dairy, no dairy, eat food, eat less food, don’t eat at all, fasting, intermittent fasting, juice cleanse, keto, paleo, etc.!!! Jillian Michael: Calorie counting and common sense🙌
Sarah Hulsey Hmmm... Maybe that’s because our ancestors weren’t using cars/public transport to get around nor were they sitting for extensive periods at a 9-5 office job? They were far more active and on top of it all, they didn’t rely on fast food or overly processed foods. What they ate was natural and healthy. They didn’t need to count calories because their overall health was far better. Now we need to count calories using common sense. What do I mean by that? Let’s take the common pizza/salad example. Let’s say you had the options of eating a pizza or a salad for dinner. Using common sense says that the salad has far fewer calories than a pizza (or other fast food options). So in order to make up for the fact that most of us aren’t walking most of the day to burn calories, we have to count how much we’re intaking. This works. I’ve lost ~40 lbs in the last two months after I really let myself go at the beginning of Covid just by changing my calorie intake (which was really important since I’ve been far more sedentary given that a lot of businesses have been and still are closed due to the pandemic). So yeah, take whatever you want from all of this, but Jillian is correct and her teachings are actually beneficial to those who want to become healthier without starting an extreme dieting plan or signing up for one of those “influencer’s” websites to get the body you want.
Sarah Hulsey - Brendan said AND common sense. Still, it makes sense that a certain number of calories are ideal for weight loss even if one doesn't bother counting them. Why pick what he said apart? Why insult Jillian? Why are you even here if you feel that way about her? Yeah, take a look at her body and obvious stellar health and tell us again how she's a "shill" about nutrition. 👀 ☺️
As a medical science student majoring in nutrition/food and diabetes this is spot on. Your gut is linked to your brain as well as your thyroid which regulates your metabolism. It's all linked folks and it starts with what you eat and the bacteria in your guts.
I specifically liked that she not just talks about real issues in diet, but also suggests solutions. I have been eating conservatively assuming that foods like brown do make my blood sugar level rise. But I'll take the quiz and may even take the drugstore glucose test to see if that's actually true. If I know what my body's tendency is, it'll help me in the long run. Thanks Jillian!
Well yes it does lessen my cravings but my craving on my period for chocolate chip cookies will never completely go away. I am not a fan of heavy sugary stuff tho. It actually will make me sick.
You speak and delivered the content of information very well, that allows me not only to understand and digest the information but I stick around to the end of the video because there no annoying over usage of umms and buts.
Wow! I have been learning from you and following your nutrition and training advice for years! It just keeps getting better and better! I’m 54 and. In the best shape of my life! Thank you so much Jillian ❤️
Another awesome video Ms Michaels. Been using MyFitnessPal, really helps me be mindful of calories. Have been staying within a caloric deficit every day and working out 4 or 5 days a week. Feeling much better and clothes are sagging more and more. Thank you for the wisdom.
Gosh I love jillian michaels. She's so upfront on how to lose weight and how all these fad diets are bs. I have lost weight doing calorie counting. And no longer do these fad diets, it's all bs. Common sense diet, count your calories. I do think for certain disorders some diets are useful like eating gluten free, but still count your calories!
Jillian, I can’t thank you enough, I have just read the comments and found the quiz, I turned 40 and my body is simply not responding any more, so after a long break, I have started using your workouts again, hopefully I can wake my metabolism up and start seeing a change! I desperately need one !🙂Why is so hard after 40?🤪thank you ever so much xx
I was at my healthiest when I was totally vegan. I am now mostly vegan but consume some dairy (yogurt and cottage cheese), some seafood (once or twice a week) - but I absolutely do not eat "meat", not only is it unhealthy but it is also unethical. I dislike it intensely when people say they "love animals" yet eat them (and yes, I feel guilty about eating an occasional sea animal). I am always at my healthiest when I limit sugar - sugar is my nemesis and when I become depressed sugar can slowly creep back in, along with chips and processed crap. I am almost back to my ideal weight (I am at 160 lbs. and am losing 10 more lbs. right now). Absolutely NO to "meat".
Can you explain about the after burn affect you talk about in a lot of your videos? How many calories are you burning with after burn? How do you tap into the after burn affect? What is it exactly?
Amazing info as always Jillian. I'm a PT from the UK & been in the industry for 20 years. When will people realise that these fad diets whatever they are, are just the fashion of the times. The sooner people get that natural, organic, whole foods in their simplest forms are the best for you and more than enough for the body to utilize as long as you have good quality variety. Thank you. Keep doing what you're doing, we all appreciate it. & thanks for the input Ross.
Thanks Jillian! I've taken the test and got to what I've always known... No fruit or carbs for me lol ill continue with my cravings for salts. I've noticed all my life that I gain weight when I eat fruits. And I am not talking about excessive eating, but a banana once per week or even apples. Its reaaaally weird. Fruictose doesn't agree with me. Berries are OK. And carbs.. The only ones that don't affect me are veggies. Any kind of veggies. I thought I'm overly doing the carb thing and got worried coz I thought I'm maybe influenced by the new-old trends about carbs, but I feel super sleepy when I eat them. When I eat meat or eggs or fish I'm super happy. I don't like sweets. I hope I'm not depriving myself but this is what works for me and the test also said C... Dunno
This was so wonderful to watch. Thank you for the great info. I definitely know some healthy foods that I don't digest well. I changed my life when I first did 30day shred. 💚💚💚
I love Jillian's style--fun, engaging, common sense, no BS! Great advice. Jillian, do you have advice for athletes and healthy eating? I'm an athlete and I work out between 3-4 hours a day between figure skating and cross-training(biking or running), plus about 10-15 min's a day of HIIT training. As a result, I'm starving all the time, and I know that I'm not losing weight because I overeat. My diet is relatively healthy, lots of fruit/vegs, all organic, little meat, etc...but my portion sizes are large because I'm always starving. I'm not extremely overweight, but I'm above where I should be at a "healthy" level. Any help?
"Autophagy or apoptosis." These are distinct biological processes. Apoptosis is a regular part of cell life cycles -- cell death. It occurs regardless of how frequently an organism eats. Autophagy, in brief, is when cells and tissues break down less functional components to replace them -- like recycling. Autophagy is a relatively recent discovery that currently appears to be associated with fasting. People might want to promote autophagy. They don't need to promote and may not even have any control over apoptosis.
Funny how I eat well over 3000 calories a day something I had never done before. I eat 6-10 eggs a day fried in butter along with bacon among a ton of saturated fat. I've reversed type 2 diabetes, My blood pressure is perfect. My cholesterol is perfect. I'm no longer on any medications for anything and I feel amazing. Dropped over 40 pounds eating like this but yet this isn't supposed to work? So am I a freak of nature and the hundreds of thousands if not millions around the world that are also experiencing these results? I wonder how that could be?
You’re a great fountain of knowledge. I really appreciate and take in what you say. I am 55 with a metabolism that doesn’t know what to do. I have lost 50 ponds over this past year and have been stuck for about the last 5 months. What can I do to kick it up. I want to lose another 40 pounds ... I was 226 and am down to 181 ... 40-50 more off would be heavenly ... however I’m finding there’s a whole psychological thing happening and that’s when I tend to self sabotage. Anyway thank you for all of your time that you put into to helping others. Your a good human 🦋🇨🇦
What do you eat? Have you looked at the website or documentary Forks Over Knives? Do you add extra oils and fats (which is also extra calories) to your food? Do you eat a good percentage of whole foods, in which you're getting nutrients with the ability to eat more due to calories density? Do you do physical activities?
So I am on my second container of Alaya Green SuperBlend. After Jillian mentioned this product in a video on supplements, I decided to give it a chance. I certainly can do more to incorporate vegetables in my daily diet, and this product seemed like a great choice. A few days ago, I noticed my nails are getting long and they are strong ( when I push on the tip of my nail they are rock hard and do not bend like before). Now, I am interested in trying a Nutrigenetics test with optimized dietary recommendations. Not cheap, but I believe researched based, specific information will make my health journey a little easier.
Looking forward to the video on how to cultivate a healthy microbiom!! It can’t come soon enough! Also I appreciate that you always tell your audience to get your books and DVDs for free from the library. You’ve got great ethics and it just makes me want to invest in you more!

I lift weights 6 days a week & don’t eat meat. This is darn hard (to finish a good wo & gain mass). Julian, I love you! Oh my god I listen to ur teachings. I changed my diet a tad. In a week my abs popped right back! I used to have 6 packs. Now, it came back just a tweak of my diet. I feel amazing!!!! I still don’t eat meat but now I consume alternative clean proteins throughout the day. I feel trem stronger & I lift so much better 👍😀 You’re AMAZING 🤩
Hi!!!!!!. from Puerto Rico just need so say THANKS so realistic and full of knowlegde, but most important you come through to US with great advice with simple words.
This is great, balanced information. When I see some people eating loads of bacon, beef mince, spare ribs, ghee, coconut oil etc on the keto diet and not counting calories but only carb intake I just think that cannot be healthy long term even if cutting out carbs does make you lose some weight short-term.
JM: The brain 🧠 and science💙. I'm a nurse so I love this kind of video! Such useful informations ! 👍🏻 I've lost 7kg on this quarantine only doing this kind of macronutrients adjustments.
Hi Jillian, I have been working out for 5 months, and I have made a great process of my exercise, I would like to know what foods should I eat to have abs, I have been struggling to get abs, I would like to know what foods should I eat that will help me get toned and, I am a beginner. Please help me out.
I love your videos, thanks for all of them :) I am a vegan and I tend to remain like this (ethical and health reasons). But I love your realistic approach to a healthy diet. I am curious about what do you think about how much reality is in the "game changers" (vegan doc movie) and how many of that do you think is an overact?
Many reasons. This video stood out in my "recommends" as a must watch because her passion for fitness and health is matched by her common sense and thorough and thoughtful approach. She kicks ass!
Thank you; this is really interesting......please can you give some advice on how to eliminate cellulite.....maybe the best foods to eat and or exercise.....many thanks x stay safe, stay well x
Love the information! Going to put in a book request with my local library. Also I love this hairstyle on you!! Probably the best one I’ve ever seen on you.
I don't comment on you tube just not my thing. lol... But I recently stop eating processed foods and sugar. It's actually not hard to stop the processed food but the cookies and chocolate bars 😋 definitely a challenge. I'm pescartarian and just now doing your workouts . Have to loose 15 pounds at 51 so we shall see. BTW love the bird talk!
I like the suggestions except the part about veganism being included in the "diets that cut out macronutrients" category. You can get all macronutrients (i.e. carbs, fat and protein) on a vegan diet. Protein doesn't equal "animal protein" it can come from plant sources too.
OMG!!! Always so knowledgeable...thank you for helping us to understand our own bodies and needs!!! I for one don't like to break my fast early in the morning because I feel too full. THANK YOU 🥰☺️💚💪🏽🙌🏽
So how to you reconcile being a high oxidizer with not eating too much meat? I can understand not eating all meat, all the time, that part is pretty clear. But, if you are someone who does better with more meat in their diet, how much is too much? Also, cheese has to count in there too, right, because it's an animal fat?
"I have a quiz in this book. Take it out from the library"
This is why I love her. No looking to plug herself or make money. She's doing this to help us.
Thank you!
I stopped the video to make this comment. She ends up proving my point by putting the quiz on her website. Amazing!
put quiz up for free on my website. Just click the link for it in details. It's on my site under blogs.

@@JillianMichaels one thing you missed, is the better your diet is, the more you fart :))
Jillian always talks in these videos like she's so over everyone's shit 😂😂
yes, dumb and ignorant people often have a lot of confidence...
Lol 😂 it’s cause there’s so much misinformation that goes around :(
watch your language young lady
Lol so true, & I dig it!
I’d love a what I eat in a day by Jillian video!
She looks like a young Sarah Conner from the Terminator movie.
I made this comment in another of her videos😀😀

She's prettier than Linda Hamilton was. Although, Linda is very pretty also.
I got started with Jillian in 2014 and her philosophy for fitness and health changed my life. She's a hardasss and I love it!!

Brendan Neyman - Hell yes! Well said.

Thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thank you Jillian! :)
Me : May be I can get another donut 😋
Jillian : Okay jacksass come to the kitchen so I can give you a talking to
Me : yes ma'm 😟
😂😂😂

I love this advice! thank you for educating us! So straight forward and easy to understand!
Great summary...you are so right...we all need to prescribe our foods to eat....thank you Dear Jillian x
This women motivates me bc she is just so badass and straight up. Thank you!
Whoa. You are glowing
Loved this and she made it so clear and simple!
I actually bought this book years ago... time to pull it back out!
Hi Jillian, I have been working out for 5 months, and I have made a great process of my exercise, I would like to know what foods should I eat to have abs, I have been struggling to get abs, I would like to know what foods should I eat that will help me get toned and, I am a beginner. Please help me out.
You look so amazing! Your clothes fits well perfectly!
You explain these things so beautifully 🙏 thank you!!
You're such a reasonable and nice person.
She is not wrong here, I like the video. It makes sense, I prefer to go the next step and be fully plant based though.
I love your videos, thanks for all of them :)
I am a vegan and I tend to remain like this (ethical and health reasons). But I love your realistic approach to a healthy diet.
I am curious about what do you think about how much reality is in the "game changers" (vegan doc movie) and how many of that do you think is an overact?
5:30 too much fat causes insulin resistance, it blocks the signalling
Who's here just to see Jillian speak because she speaks so well?
Psychguy00. I came here to tell her my story and to see what her latest philosophy is. I did that, but I didn’t reply.
@@nathan7265 oh I see. Well hopefully she can read the comments section and can respond to you.
Psychguy00. Thanks. Calorie counting works.
Many reasons. This video stood out in my "recommends" as a must watch because her passion for fitness and health is matched by her common sense and thorough and thoughtful approach. She kicks ass!
Arlene Hill. I’m down 30 pounds.
I gotta watch Jillian just to give me the strength to work out.😌
Thank you; this is really interesting......please can you give some advice on how to eliminate cellulite.....maybe the best foods to eat and or exercise.....many thanks x stay safe, stay well x
Jillian way of eating just makes common sense and I am excited to get this book! Thank you!!! #IHATEKETO
Calories are only a small part of the answer.
Cut carbs x
Best advices that follows common sense.👏
Love the information! Going to put in a book request with my local library. Also I love this hairstyle on you!! Probably the best one I’ve ever seen on you.
How should you go about combating a prescribed medication that has a weight gain side effect?
I don't comment on you tube just not my thing. lol... But I recently stop eating processed foods and sugar. It's actually not hard to stop the processed food but the cookies and chocolate bars 😋 definitely a challenge. I'm pescartarian and just now doing your workouts . Have to loose 15 pounds at 51 so we shall see. BTW love the bird talk!
You are absolutely beyond stunning!!! I love listening to you speak...
I like the suggestions except the part about veganism being included in the "diets that cut out macronutrients" category. You can get all macronutrients (i.e. carbs, fat and protein) on a vegan diet. Protein doesn't equal "animal protein" it can come from plant sources too.
Jillian, you rock! As always!
OMG!!! Always so knowledgeable...thank you for helping us to understand our own bodies and needs!!! I for one don't like to break my fast early in the morning because I feel too full. THANK YOU 🥰☺️💚💪🏽🙌🏽
Jillian please give us a video of you having a conversation with your bird please and thank you
Jillian always talks with authority, because she knows her stuff. Love No.1 "you can't overeat." - #truth
Continue to Love Your Information! My original book has been used well. I have it in hard cover. I have always continued to go back to that book
I’m on a Lindt Hazelnut Milk Chocolate diet. Makes me happy - end of story!
Jillian u should do a workout for Seniors!!
This video was cool
So much better than just hearing the same stuff over and over
Really enjoyed
THANK YOU JILLIAN
what desserts can i eat while trying to maintain my weight?
Can you do a video on what and how much to meal prep in a day 🦋💯👍🏼🙏🏻
So how to you reconcile being a high oxidizer with not eating too much meat? I can understand not eating all meat, all the time, that part is pretty clear. But, if you are someone who does better with more meat in their diet, how much is too much? Also, cheese has to count in there too, right, because it's an animal fat?
