I just today did my first test on a new iDraw H A3 (my first plotter) and was instantly disheartened that it drew the hidden lines. I’m now happy again! Thanks!!!
I thought this would work, but it doesn’t for some reason. Works fine with Inkscape drawn shapes, but not my art. This could be an expensive mis-purchase, but I hope not. Must be other ways
I have worked it out. You need to use inline style on everything. I had mine in the css. Fortunately bringing into illustrator and re-exporting under different settings fixed it to work with the AxiDraw extension @@metaphysicalArtist 😅

I've always struggled to do this in Illustrator. Mixing lines and shapes never worked in the pathfinder for me. Looks like this will do that just fine.
Very useful axidraw feature! Do you know a way to do this for non axidraw printer? (I use idraw) I have managed by using the preview path of the axidraw extension in Inkscape but the resolution is low. Axidraw CLI method does not seem to be able to output a new svg but only sending to plotter. May be the Python library can…

Happy to help! It's super useful, I hope it works out for you (as much as I don't use InkScape I do pop in to do this with it, saves so much time)
This is one of the best developments for the AxiDraw software ever. I have to wonder if it is memory bound.

I've found it can still leave the odd short line here or there, but those are easy to clean up (far easier than removing hidden lines for sure)

I dont have hidden line removal on the latest 1.3 Beta version available is report time elapsed not hidden line removal .what am i doing wrong?
Have you experimented with having AI generate your gcode? It surely has the creativity to draw lines? I think that's the next step in plotting.
