- Topmate is a scam that blocks creator accounts and runs away with the money. We have been receiving complaints against Topmate, prompting us to investigate them.
IIT Bombay alumni Dinesh Singh and Ankit Agarwal founded Topmate, also known as KAVALRY TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, on January 25, 2021.
They have set up a website, topmate.io, to provide a monetization platform for creators, teachers, and consultants. For the service they provide, they charge a fee of 7% from the money received by the creator from the customer.
The money paid by the customer first goes to the payment gateway account of Topmate, and then it is up to Topmate to settle the money to the creator after deducting its 7% platform fees.
However, Topmate doesn't settle the money to the creator; instead, they send an email notifying the creator about freezing the creator’s Topmate account and ask them to contact support.
Upon contacting Topmate support, fake legal threats are issued, and the money is scammed by Topmate, as it is neither settled to the creator nor refunded to the customer.
Topmate uses Stripe & RazorPay payment gateways to process the payments from customers.
Topmate doesn't hold any license from RBI to operate as a payment aggregator.
It is found to be operating a nodal account where it is accepting payments on behalf of merchants into its account & then settling the money to the merchants, which is a clear violation of The Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007.
Since Topmate is using a merchant account from Stripe & Razorpay opened with its own company documents for its own use and in reality, it is using it to mimic a payment aggregation model, it is thus exposing itself to cumulative risk.
If it has 50 merchants & 1 merchant commits fraud, its account gets on hold & thus it impacts the rest of the 49 merchants on the platform.

Hello, these guys are frauds. They have made a platform to attract creators because no payment gateway is giving service currently to individuals. Once they have creator's sales money, they either block the account or give fake settlement data.

Since they are running an international scam, this becomes a federal offence and the FBI has jurisdiction. They are committing conspiracy, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and money laundering.
India has an extradition treaty with the US, so if the grand jury at the federal court at NYC finds the case fit for trial, the owners of the company can be moved from india to us for trial.
We casually let go of scams, don't take action, thus it becomes big over time & becomes a threat to society.

I'm a creator on Topmate and now I'm in the top 1% but such incidents never happened. I had a great experience as a creator and they even send gifts to creators a lot of times that none of the brands are doing.
The entire operation is illegal. They are running an aggregator model without a valid license from RBI.
Also, they are ripping off creators. We have received many complaints and we have many reviews online.
By the way, fake influencer ravisutanjani was also using topmate and was among the top 1%

Ye log khud chor hai, wo kya FIR karenge? Aap 154 CrPC k tehet in k against 120B/420/406/409 ka case file kar sakte hai. Ye log public ko scam kar rahe hai.
