For those who may be interested, it's just me making these types of videos in my free time (I'm a full-time video editor), so it's just me making the maps, the animations, the research, the editing, the narration (with a text to speech service, free by the way), plus English is not my native language, so a huge effort is made to publish the best content under these circumstances. If you don't like them just because of the voice and you don't want to see them, that's fine, if you have any suggestions, they are welcome (including if someone wants to do the narrations, a little better)

Jon Snow: so we plan to send our giant in without any weapons, that will clearly defeat any enemy.
    Wun Wun: Snow!

Not even an armor, and honestly it lasted longer than I expected, even managing to break the gate of Winterfell.

@@DecisiveBattles During the battle of the Bastards you see WunWun trying to deal with the spears too. He could just pick up dead bodies from the ground and throw them at the enemy. Even dead horses are no problem for him. Without dead things to throw, he could scope up dirt and throw that as hard as he could.
Even worse: The guys fighting him held their spears upwards, so any wildling there could walk towards the shields without any spears in their way....
So much dumb things here, and the battle for Winterfell was not even there yet...

@@sjonnieplayfull5859 Yes, I remember. I think when you imagine a giant, you think of the scene of the Trolls when they penetrate the entrance to Minas Tirith, who enter wearing armor, helmets and enormous weapons and crush the soldiers of Gondor easily. Although this giant (GoT) looks less strong, there is a big difference in equipment.

    • @sjonnieplayfull5859

@@DecisiveBattles When they entered that gate I was terrified. I knew it was a movie, I had read the book, I knew they would win, but dang! how do you stop something that big WITH armor? They move too fast to get accurate shots in the weak points, they smash comrades every second, and within half a minute the gate is lost and you don't even have a chokepoint left.
With Wun Wun, every arrow was a wound and with spears he could not even fight back.
He could have picked up that giant bow they used during the attack on the Wall. Shooting that high into the air equivales to piercing six men at once... the best he did was grab some spears....
I loved the battle, but they should have had him do something else. Now they Worfed him :S

@@sjonnieplayfull5859 Yes, and the Trolls were many, not just one like Wun Wun . In general, I found the battles of the Lord of the Rings make more sense and than those of Game of Thrones (speaking of the movies and series, since the books differ a little, and this battle has not even occurred in the books from GoT). By the way, I plan to recreate the attack on the Wall too, but for the moment I'm currently working on the Siege of Bloodstone (as seen in the House of the Dragon series).

Jon wanted to wait for the Boltons to attack but setup no defenses, funny enough we see Jamie do just that at River run. Jon’s comment about shaky loyalty meant nothing. Never plays out. And the genius, Sansa Stark, who shouldn’t even be there happens to have secret army she never mentions to Jon that would have given Jon’s force and easy win and saved many lives. But no, Sansa’s army waits until Jon’s army is almost entirely dead before acting. Pretty sure she was hoping Jon would die and looked disappointed when she saw him on the field. She also never acknowledges Rikkon dying, ignores her little brothers body. Made up D&D crap. Horrible scene, horrible episode. Oh Sansa won the north. Really she shouldn’t even be there, she should be in the Vale, enjoying herself and slowly poisoning Robyn. D&D kept writing dialogue to say Sansa was smart. Every character, oh boy that Sansa is smart. Technically Littefinger won the battle of Winterfell, he bought the Army, he said just let me know if you need me, it was his idea. Then it was Bran who solved the Littlefinger issue after that. Sansa did what she always said, whined and complained till she got her way. She was Xenophobic about outsiders because of Cersei and KL, but the north was awesome and loyal to her. Except that part where a Northman betrayed her family, killed her mother, burnt Winterfell, killed her brother, killed her other brother, stole power from the Starks, brutalized her, abused her, tortured her, and a civil war in the North. But outside of that the Northerners were all peaches, the few that supported the Starks, the mormonts and…. The Mormonts. Great writing.

This season was already an example of how bad the scripts would be in the following seasons, especially the last one, and how rushed it was. The series had the opportunity to become the best series in history but they wasted it, I hope George R. R. Martin manages to amend the course that the producers and writers of the series decided to follow in his next book (if he ever finishes it and actually publishes it).

It was a great battle but horrible reasoning for Sansa to keep her army a secret, if I was Jon I surely wouldn’t be happy with Sansa. The worst battle by far is the Long Night, probably one of the worst battles to be aired which is a shame since it was hyped since the pilot.

George isn’t responsible for the writers adapting his books barely being able to rub two brain cells together

    - A line of "pikemen" with seperate shieldbearers = 100% silly
    - A line of "pikemen" with one row of spears.... ever seen an macedonian sarissa phalanx? Or an Landsknecht/Tertio/swiss mercenary "Gewalthaufen"? It is 5x rows of spearheads. So that people not just "undercut" the pikes. In this formation, soldiers would have easily dodged down, stand behind the deadly point of the pike. Theory? No, thats the way "double-pay" mercenaries of Landsknechts/swiss mercenaries did it with plate armored two-handed swords/helbards, against 5x rows of pikeheads.
    - Commanders letting their general run alone to the enemy = 100% silly
    - not armoring a giant with 5-10mm thick steel plates (and no crossbow penetrates 5 mm of steel) = 100% silly
Martin and D&D have and had zero clue about mediveval/rennaisance style warfare. Zero!
Every sixteen year old kid with an interest in military history would have been clever enough to copycat some history battles.

    Good video.
My only critique is that I would guess that you used an AI program or some other software to narrate it.
This is fine, but they sometimes need a bit of tweaking, sometimes spelling the words phonetically so they are pronounced correctly in the narration.
Throughout the video a few words are mispronounced because of this - the more glaring being "Bow" (as in bow and arrow) pronounced "Bow" (as in bowing to someone). I would expect if you spelled it "bo" or maybe "bough" in the input text, it would pronounce it correctly.
Just a small tweak to increase the polish of the final product.
