  • There seems to be something remarkably stable and well-coordinated about walking in insects by comparison to humans. What's the deal?
    Dr. Buggs! Here to convince you that insects are the most incredible creatures you've ever stepped on!
    An Extra Special Thanks to Dr. Cole Gilbert and Dr. Jeff Shultz for teaching me about this stuff as an undergrad and graduate student! Definitely couldn't have done this video without those lessons!

    You're a great teacher - you make all this so interesting and fun. I'd nearly forgotten my childhood love of flying bugs, but you're inspiring me to revisit that as well as to look into all the other types. Maybe someday I'll be able to take classes from a teacher as good as you.

    Just discovered this channel via Tumblr. I'm a plant person and usually the only "bugs" that give me a thrill are isopods, but these vids are awesome and I hope more will follow! Especially appreciate the Latin name breakdowns. And all the insects/arachnids nonchalantly walking around. :p Good stuff!

    Hey Sam! I just discovered your tumblr and youtube and I'm really enjoying the content you're producing! I was wondering if you has a consistent upload schedule yet. I imagine your videos take a long time to edit and this is a new channel so its understandable if you aren't sure.

    • @drsammyramsey
      @drsammyramsey  8 лет назад +1

      +Breanna Brashears Not quite yet. These actually do take a while to produce and edit so I'm guessing when I do get into my groove it's going to be a consistent once a month sort of thing.

    I really liked the video! You have a great style!
    I'll add a small correction though, when you corrected your imaginary student on the pronunciation of arachnid, you then went on to spell the specific epithet improperly. The "G" should not be capitalized in the specific name.

      +John Mola Ha! That's embarrassing! You're absolutely right! I totally didn't notice I'd capitalized the species in the binomial name >///////
