When Howie Kendrick's home run hit that foul pole, I screamed so loud that my neighbor upstairs filed a noise complaint with my apartment complex. Worth it.
Bro, I'm not even a Nats fan, but that was so enjoyable
Peak baseball, and if your upstairs neighbor wasn't screaming, they deserved a fine 😂
I screamed on my college baseball van. I sprained my ankle running into my house once i got back from our game to finish the game
agree but his grand slam was just as hype if not more i know the stage was smaller but the grand slam was more clutch
Oh man that run was the best!
Papi’s walk-off “We’ll see you later tonight” home run will always be my favorite of his post-season heroics.
every oct i think of that swing and call. Made me into the fan i am
I am not a fan of that hit - Tigers fan
yes true and i also think the ishakawa call was a legendary!
@@crackedbull8492the hit hes talking about was game 4 alcs against the yankees not the tigers
@@crackedbull8492why? Cause the hit he was talking about was 2004 game 4 against the yankees not the tigers
Gonna have to update this with Freeman's walkoff grandslam XD
I literally went straight to the comments to see if anyone said this yet.
REAL SHIT LMAO he made this video a little too early
Automatic chills
The fact that Freddie was injured and everything he and his family endured throughout the season with his son getting sick, it happening almost exactly 36 years after Kirk Gibsons walk off HR in 88, it being the first ever walk off grand slam in WS history makes it a goosebumps moment forever
Freddies Grand Slam is instant chills, no doubt. Maybe even own tier
Def not his own tier but yeah
It is tier 2 as it looks like it will be a sweep
Recency bias
Nah Jhonskey Noel’s Homer tho and David Fry’s Walk off no offense but Cleveland had a better run and deserved better
The Juan Soto ALCS Homerun about to be added to this list
Shohei’s walkoff in game 6 of the upcoming world series is gonna be the holiest of grails, just you wait
@@BendyDH might as well give you the ws title then.
@@BendyDHYou already know the script will get Ohtani at least one world series walk off… Hahaha
@@TheSportReelhow about a Freddie freeman walk off?!
@@fries5849 Most scripted Kirk Gibson moment of all time
I know it probably doesn't measure up as well to a bunch of these other moments, but as an Orioles fan, the Delmon Young double is definitely in automatic chills tier for me
Definitely was the loudest Camden Yards has been since 2000.
@@WonkNRollProud to say I was part of that crowd
@@WonkNRolli would also say it's the best moment in Orioles history with the exception of 2131
As a fellow O's fan, I concur disappointed that wasn't included. Especially since Jolly is like a semi O's fan!!
I’m not an O’s fan but I’m shocked that wasn’t here
As a Phillies fan Harper’s bedlam at the bank home run will never fail to give me chills. I woke myself up at like 2 am to watch the game since I was deployed at the time what a moment I’ll never forget.
Agreed. What a fucking moment
No 2017 alds g2 Lindor grand slam is actually diabolical. Automatic chills
Literally one of the most iconic playoff moments OAT
Not really cuz they lost that series
I'm not a Guardians fan but I'm a huge Lindor fan and I agree, to not acknowledge him for his FIRST iconic postseason gran salami is insane. Put some respect on that man's name. And a classic Matt Vasgersian call, to boot.
im a cubs fan but yeah I have no idea how the hell thats not on here lmao. That and Rajai's hr from 2016 are the two most iconic moments in Indians history
Especially as a Mets fan idk how Jolly Olive missed that one
That soler hr at shrug is absolutely criminal, even if you are a mets fan. The pimp and the atmosphere is actually kinda unmatched
Agree. Very underrated moment
Yeah I totally agree and he said it happened in the 1st inning when it happened in the 3rd
As a astros fan that Homer still hurts definitely iconic
A 3 Run HR in a 7-0 blowout. No one cares
@@joerk992Braves did. You sound like a hater
Man Nationals in 2019 had arguably 3 different iconic playoff hits. The Soto wild card hit, the Kendrick NLDS grand slam, and the Kendrick World Series foul pole homer. What a great run that was
I know it wasn't the playoffs, but Johnson or Longoria's homers in game 162 of 2011, could be an honorable mention. They always both give me instant chills
Glad someone else was thinking this too! What an incredible game to watch.
whats even better about that is just the whole month of September the rays had which lead to them knocking out their division rival red sox and on top of that dan johnson of all people who had terrible numbers but it was only like 30 games. still amazing the entire story of that team and the comeback in that game alone
Pujols home run was so great that even you Jolly thought the cardinals won that series, the Astros won that series!
and yet he completely forgot Jim Edmonds extra inning walk off against the Astros in 2004 to force game 7!
Edmonds catch in cf as an angel is the best catch I've ever seen. The best for me
Or Jeff Kent's walk off that 04 NLCS too.
(Cards fan) Often forgotten - Pujols HR on Lidge was in 05 - the Astros won the series.
Huge
the way the cardinals played after the pujols homer, you'd think they were the ones on the losing end of it
Saying the '07 Red Sox had no problem in the ALCS after going down 3-1 is wild.
This dude left So many clips off, his whole list stright up blows!
@@CharlesShabubby If he included more, ones which are very much deserving, such as Rhys' bat spike homer, or Lindor's grand slam in 2017, etc, he would be there all night and this video would be 45 minutes long. Probably should do a part 2, and put in a bunch more moments, like Adam Kennedy in 2002, Renteria's in 2010, Hamilton's in 2011, etc, etc
@@CharlesShabubbyit was only hitting too, Keith Foulke fielding the last out of the 2004 World Series, ending the curse is still used in MLB tv ads when they try to market the World Series
What’s funny about the Zobrist game 7 hit is that it actually wasn’t the game winning RBI. Montero drove in an insurance run right after, then Cleveland scored one in the bottom half of the inning
I’m always reminding people of this! Miguel Montero is a Cubs legend, got the hit that ended the curse!
@@GamingClips7 Not to mention his iconic pinch hit grand slam in the NLCS while being injured and not even supposed to be in the game
NOPE! Zobrist was the winning hit. Cubs let the runner go to second on defensive indifference in the bottom of the inning…. They let him score….
@@GamingClips7FALSE! Zobrist was the winning hit
@@ryanolson2308false. Zobrist’s hit made it 7-6. Montero’s hit made it 8-6. Cleveland score one run in the bottom to make it 8-7. Which means Rizzo’s run that was scored because of Miggy’s hit was necessary for the win. Defensive indifference or not, Cubs don’t win without the Miggy hit, because numerically 8 is bigger than 7.
If you had just waited a week, you could have added Freddie Freeman’s WS grand slam.
The Spiezio Game 6 home run in the 2002 World Series that spurred a 5 run comeback in the 7th inning of an elimination game? Literally the reason they won the world series? Cmon man, that's so far above so many of these moments. Top tier.
Thank you! I was looking for this comment. His homer is insanely iconic and I thought it would 100% be on here
Thank you
or the Glaus 2-run double for the lead in the 8th. either one.
As an Angels fan, this might be my favorite at-bat that I've ever watched. So much drama. So emotional. So clutch. The rally monkey came out to play that night.
Soto 3 run bomb against the guards goes in absolute chills
Honestly surprised that Scott Spiezio's 3-run homer in game 6 of the 2002 WS isn't on here. That led to one of the best comebacks in WS history and propelled the Angels to win the series
Shane Victorino grand slam off the tigers in game 6 of the 2013 ALCS is so underrated. That moment is filled with so much emotion.
You gotta add Freddie now. That one will be remembered for centuries
Surprised that of the 2021 Braves playoff big hits that Rosario's walk off in game 2 of the NLCS wasn't included. The homers were big but that was the first moment that made me think they could actually pull off the upset over the Dodgers.
Was looking for this comment. How do you have Freddie’s HR and Soler’s HR but not Eddie’s? Finally beat the Dodgers in the playoffs after losing to them 3 of the last 4 playoff appearances (2013 NLDS, 2018 NLDS, 2020 NLCS). Arguably biggest hit of the playoffs for the Braves.
Edit: after watching the Freddie clip I feel even stronger. We won two playoff series in 2020.
@@kristopherwilson506 the celebration of Eddie as well was just insane, dude was a monster in that CS
Nats 2019 run was incredible. I was there for every game 5 NLDS elimination ‘12, ‘16, & ‘17. I was there in CF for that wild card game, head in my hands waiting for another heartbreak. Soto base hit to right, Grisham misses it. I blacked out, apparently ripped my jersey off and stood on my seat and screamed my ass off (according to my gf, now wife). Beer showers all around. It was a moment I’ll never forget. Thanks, Jolly
I think you forgot Yadier Molina’s homerun to win the NLCS against the NEW YORK METS. That homerun clears at least half the plays on this list
Honorable mention I feel like to Mike Brosseau's go-ahead homerun off Chapman in the 2020 ALDS, Game 5. Got down in the count, then fouled off some tough pitches to start timing up Chapman, then boom, home run. You could feel the AB shifting from favoring the pitcher to favoring the hitter the more pitches he saw, just a fantastic piece of hitting and was the game and series winning hit in a year the Rays did go to the World Series. Not nearly as remembered as Phillips's hit, but just as impressive imo.
15:50 was up all night watching with my friend who is from NYC and the tension in the room turning into electricity in an instant was incredible. We had traveled to NY to visit his family for two weeks that season and saw them play the Mariners in old Yankee Stadium.. which was my first big league game. Still the highlight of my baseball fandom and an iconic moment!
seeing ishikawa's homer in the upper tiers made me so happy, especially since you talked about his backstory. it's an insane moment on its own, but knowing that ish was that close to retiring about two months before makes it all the better.
I was at 2016 WS Game 7 as a Cleveland fan. The Davis HR remains the best single experience of my life. I wrote my college essay about the HR, and for Rice University in Houston you have to submit a photo along with your application but without any context ("The Box"). The photo I submitted was of Davis celebrating his HR. I'm now a senior at Rice
I was there too, absolutely epic and bone chilling! Wish my Tribe would have pulled it off.
Kerry Wood's HR in 2003 would have been top tier if the Cubs had won
Yeah, that Soler placing is pure bias lol. Also, it was the 3rd inning
that one pissed me off. a mets fan shrugging at an out of the park MISSILE in a world series clinching game?
@@j_wataz 100% bias
honestly no - very inconsequential
@@galap0g0sisland He has a tier that is literally talking about being on replays for years. This homerun is shown all the time. You can feel that way, but it is not fitting for that bottom tier.
@@j_wataz he’s a clown
Great list but here are some I disagree with:
-Jeter’s homer is automatic chills with the context of 9/11, a walk off home run in the first baseball game in November, and the come from behind win
- Soler’s homer is also automatic chills. The back and forth of that series, then comes the gut punch that is Soler’s home run to give Atlanta their first World Series in over 20 years
As an Astros fan, I don't recall the series being back and forth. We were down 3-1 at one point. Soler homer should def be higher though.
Jeter’s homerun wasn’t a homerun though, it was fan interference and would’ve been caught if the fan didn’t reach over. That’s the only reason I don’t think it should be high
@@pokerbuddy62 that happened in 1996. I’m talking about his 2001 World Series walk-off home run
Personally I think Escobars inside the park HR on the first pitch the Mets throw in the WS is more iconic and memorable than Gordon’s HR
Schwarber ripping a moonshot double off the wall in Game 1 of the World Series. It was his first at bat since tearing his ACL and LCL 6 months prior. He also hit a double to start off the 10th inning after the rain delay to setup the Zobrist hit. He batted over .400 that series.
The Miguel Montero walk off grand slam in game 1 of the NLCS after the Cubs came back from being down is automatic chills too. Montero didn't bat well all year and yet he came through in the biggest moments that postseason
Not including the Kendrick grand slam against the dodgers is criminal
The Nationals had so many clutch hits in the 2019 championship run
I’d love to see a “before my time” tier with some of the classics like Joe Carter, Bill Mazeroski, Kirk Gibson, Carlton Fisk and Bobby Thompson’s homers or Don Larsen’s perfect game
Agreed. Plus, it would be an excuse to finally get at least one top-tier Mets play on the list.
Thanks for respecting the Nats incredible postseason moments of 2019…I am a diehard Nat fan. Started watching the Nats with my dad in 2009, 3rd grade and got to see them win it all in 2019 in my freshman year of college
I respect your bias jolly. Saying Alvarez home run more chilling that Harper is crazy
8:00 people often remember zobrist’s double for good reason but forget miguel montero’s single right after to add a needed insurance run that would ultimately be the winning run in the end. I get that the single isn’t as exciting but it’s worth noting, especially to cubs fans.
The Montero grad slam in Game 1 of the NLCS is also an underrated moment.
Being at the 2019 WC game was so surreal man. Was at game 5 in 2012 vs STL, Game 2 in 2014 vs sf, both absolute heartbreakers. Years of NLDS postseason torture went away with one swing from Soto. Loudest Nats park has ever been. Think I watch that clip at least 3 times a week, along with Howie’s.
Not having the “Cueto” moment in the first ever playoff game in PNC Park on this list at all feels like a miss but it’s the pirates that’s what we deserve
I'm shocked Scott Spiezio's homerun in game 6 of the 2002 World Series wasn't on this list
To me, everything about the Seager home run screams top tier. Down to their last out, against a closer that was unhittable all postseason. Joe Davis’s call, and the crowd reaction is one of the loudest I can ever remember on TV.
Lindors grand slam in Cleveland in 2017 I love as a Cleveland fan myself. But I understand that it’s not in the video considering the outcome. But if you watch the replay the call and crowd was insane. Absolute euphoria. Cleveland has one the best postseason atmospheres cause we have the smallest capacity stadium but that was the loudest a stadium had ever been to that point idk if it still is, but amazing moment
I too was there, that game was beyond incredible, the park was so electric!
add Jhnokensy Noel's huge Home run to save the guardians, or Bryce Harper staring down Arcia twice, or Kyle Schwarber's longest home run in San Diego in 2022
19:42
Pujols' homerun off Lidge was in 05. Cardinals won the NLCS in 04 and 06. The Lidge ending homerun was the year the Astros won the NLCS and got swept by the White Sox.
Bryson Stott's Grand Spam against the Marlins in the NLWC (especially with the pure stadium audio) is an all time amazing baseball moment. I have a hard time thinking of another sport that can have that kind of moment.
True
True
Missing Lindor’s grand slam against the Yankees , the commentary and crowd were top tier. Also Kendrick’s Grand slam vs Joe Kelly, the way that series of events unraveled and you can hear the horror in the voice of the crowd as soon as the ball was hit as they new it was all over.
Jolly - one of my favorite of your videos. I do think that the Holy Grail tier should be reserved for winners. I would have put Howie’s HR above Davis’. The audible “clang” off the foul pole was iconic. One of the greatest moments in WS history given the Nats 2005-2019 storyline, not to mention the DC baseball curse since 1924 that the media ignored for some reason. The hindsight of knowing what happened to the Nats downfall post 2019 adds to it.
You’re crazy. Seaver’s homerun is absolutely chills. Lead to the first World Series in Texas Rangers championship
As a Phillies fan I may be biased, but to not even have Bryson Stott’s grand slam against the marlins on here in any position is crazy. The hit might not have meant that much but the imagery and atmosphere of the hit was insane. The fans signing the walk up song, and then first pitch home-run, that gets so much replay already.
Did you forget Justin Turner's 2017 Walk off in the NLCS or did I miss it?
Right? After that homer it felt like the dodgers were finally gonna make the WS
I honestly put Bellinger's go-ahead single off Doval in game 5 of the 2021 NLDS should've been here. Greatest year of any baseball rivalry, and will forever be my favorite hit of all time.
@@josephsilva345bellingers 2020 nlcs game 7 homerun too
Bellinger’s 2018 NLCS game 4 walkoff is super underrated too. Dodgers could’ve been down 3-1.
Shane Victorino grand slam off Sabathia in 08...that's the biggest HR of the 08 Phills plus the sequence of events leading to the grand slam. Brett Myers drawing a walk on 9 pitches prior. That moment I knew we were winning it all!
Putting moments against the Rangers on Holy Grail and Automatic Chills while the Corey Seager game-tying home run from the Rangers World Series winning year goes into the On Replay for Years tier. I see how it is. Well I'll keep watching it and keep loving it and keep getting automatic chills from it.
I think it's cause of the game. Freeze was game 6 right? Or 7? I forget but when you're an out away from elimination and you pull out a win that's a bit more impactful. Seagers hit is like Kirk Gibson, remembered well but game 1.
@@ILoveMisty1985 Only Rangers fans would seriously think the Freese and Seager homers were on the same level, what are we doing here 💀💀💀
As a Cubs fan, time legitimately stopped when Rajai Davis hit that home run off Chapman.
JD Drew’s grand slam off Fausto Carmona in the 07 ALCS still chills me to my core. Down 3-1 in the series, steals game 5 in Cleveland to stay alive, and in the 1st inning of game 6 he blows the game open. I was 10 years old and at the game with my dad, that was the loudest I have ever seen Fenway Park
Thank you for putting Papi’s 2013 grand slam in the top tier, remember that hit everyday!
One major one you forgot was Joe Carters walkoff in 1993
That was top tier 💯
Yordan's nuke against Robbie Ray was the definition of the most clutch play off home run, i du no what you are smoking my guy
As much as I love the homerun to win the world series. The homer against Robbie Ray is easily more iconic. It was game 1 alds, a division rival, astros down by a lot, yordan walkoff 3 run bomb game 1 to really set the tone for the whole series.
@mrswizzlestickz2646 I'll even raise you one and say it set the tone for the entire Astros Post-season.
First off, if he doesn't come through against Robbie Ray, Seattle steals one in Houston, leverages the momentum, and perhaps eliminates Houston in rd 1. Furthermore, that walk-off NUKE was preceded by a pitching change in an effort to neutralize the powerful lefthanded bat of Yordan. Obviously that was an ill advised move, punctuated by an absolutely soul crushing moonshot & a boss ass bat flip. FF to WS Game 6, similar scene. Electric tension filled that same stadium with palpable nervous anticipation in a very similar scenario. Pitching change, runners on, lefty lefty, game on the line...
Yordan don't flinch. Zero fear of failure. He read that book already. He knows how it ends. Just hunting for his pitch. And then...
"On a 2-1, Alvarez hits a high drive, centerfield, Vierling's back?
THIS GAME HAS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN!!!!"
Thus adding an iconic final bookend to a magical title run that likely wouldn't have even come to fruition were it not for that first historic walkoff moment against Robbie Ray. God I love baseball 🥹
You should do a part 2 to this, so many more iconic postseason moments that could be included. For me, definitely the Lindor grand slams in 2024 (that one hurts me) and 2017, the Hoskins bat spike in 2022, the Victorino grand slam in the 2013 ALCS, Hamilton in 2011 WS Gm6, Renteria in 2010, Adam Kennedy in 2002, and probably a ton more that I can't think of right now. Enough to get 15+ minutes out of a video? I mean maybe, but definitely feels like a few were left out
The most clutch hr that no one remembers- 2011 2 run hr game 6 from josh hamilton
Man I miss Josh Hamilton
No Justin Turner walk-off HR in 2017 against John Lackey, but including CT3's HR against the Cards, is CRAZY!!!!
Thank you for properly rating the Soler HR. So funny when Braves fans try to troll by showing that HR, like it was a 7-0 blowout no Astros fan really cares
It's an absolute moonshot that I don't think any other fanbase cares about all that much.
As a Cubs fan, I can respect the Davis homerun in automatic chills. Partially because we had chills as well. Just very awful chills
As a D-Backs fan, I'll give a few of more honorable mentions from their 2023 Postseason run:
- 2023 NLDS Game 3 (VS Dodgers): Four Home Runs in One Inning - Made even more brilliant when Gabriel Moreno's homer was called foul, but he then hits one regardless after the review.
- 2023 NLCS Game 3 (VS Phillies): Ketel Marte's Walk Off - Tied at one run apiece for most of the game, Marte's clutch hit give the D-Backs a much needed win after being down 2-0 in the series.
- 2023 NLCS Game 4 (VS Phillies): Alek Thomas Game Tying Home Run in the 8th Inning - The Answerbacks once again strike back in late game fashion and take the lead from Gabriel Moreno's go ahead hit. This leads to the D-Backs winning the game and tying the series 2-2.
Another mention from the 2017 World Series. I know it's become controversial with the Astros sign stealing, but back then, fans were none the wiser, and it was an incredibly clutch moment:
- 2017 World Series Game 5 (Astros VS Dodgers): Alex Bregman Walk Off Hit - This game was intense, with the Dodgers and Astros countering each other run by run. However, it was Bregman's RBI in the bottom of the 10th inning which won the game for the Astros.
I have a good friend who you can see in the front row of the bleachers right behind the cop during the Papi 2013 slam. As a non-Red Sox fan, that was still a pretty special moment.
Also, your memory of the 2007 ALCS is no bueno. The Sox were down 3-1 in that series and while none of the subsequent games were close, they did not cake walk through it.
Would've loved to see Russell Martin's Home Run in the 2013 Wildcard game. The way the Pittsburgh crowd got to Cueto, before the homer was hit is amazing
I was at the 2019 NLWC game as a Nats fan sitting out in right field near that shot where everyone was throwing beer. Absolute chills being there, seeing the clip, rewatching my video of it. Insane and rated properly (full bias on my part too)
2 Yankees ones that came to mind right away were Tex’s walk off homer in the 09 ALDS and Hicks’ 3 run shot in the 2019 ALCS
“LINDOR WITH A SWING AND A DRIVE AND ITS GONEE”
That Bonds homer is automatic chills for me. The sheer power behind that shot is jawdropping
bro I literally got chills everytime you showed the automatic chill clips 😂
Nothing from the 2013 Red Sox World Series run is criminal, the 3 that come to mind are Ortiz game tying grand slam in game 2 of ALDS and either Victorino’s grand slam in the ALDS or his bases clearing double in game 6 of the World Series with the crowd singing along to three little birds as his walk up. That double clinched the World Series.
15:07 I don't know, man. Boston was down 3-1 in that ALCS to the Indians and had to storm their way back.
Dude should re-title the Video " I'm gonna hate on the Red Sox because they have been the most dominant franchise since 2000"
Thank you lmaoo. I was super stressed out during that ALCS.
Russell Martin’s home run in the NL wild card game, pirates vs reds. First pirates playoff game in decades. Cueeeeeeetoooo, cueeeeettoooooo
JOLLY WHERE IS LINDOR'S GRAND SLAM VS THE YANKEES??????
I only remember a few of these moments. Archie Bradley's triple was one of them and I remember how stoked he was when (I think) Rosie interviewed him later on. Cool moment that I would have rated higher. Thanks, Jolly!
Glad you included the Ishikawa 2014 walk-off HR, I was actually at AT&T Park that night, it was incredible. Maybe I'm biased as a San Franciscan, but how about Buster Posey's slam that put them over the top vs the Reds in the 2012 NLDS? The Giants were down 0-2 in the series, and won the last 3 games. And of course, they went on to win the WS. Speaking of, how about Panda's 3 home runs off the Tigers in game 1. After the 2nd one, you could see Verlander say "wow" on the mound.
not a phils fan but Bryson Stott’s grand slam in the WC gives goosebumps everytime i see the clip
As a Mets fan, Alonso's home run is gives me chills tier for me. I was screaming my head off in a restaurant in a small town in Kentucky! Love that moment! Also, I know it is forgotten because the Mets didn't win it all in 2015 but David Wright's home run in game 3 of the World Series is iconic and gives me chills just thinking about it. If the Mets win that is one that is remembered a whole lot more, just for David Wright's story and sentimental value to Mets fans.
I think we have a couple more moments to add to this list with the 2024 ALCS
2005 World Series Game 2 walkoff was insane to see in person
Juan Soto screaming at his dugout in the middle of a pickle cracks me up and shows Soto's awesome personality😎
Would love to see where all the homers in this years ALCS would be. Between Giancarlo and Judge back to back, Big Christmas tying, Fry walking it off, and then Soto’s extra innings to send them there, this was a series of awesome moments that I think could definitely compete
If Cleveland won Game 7, you could make an argument that Rajai Davis' homer is a top 3 MLB moment EVER behind the two World Series-clinching homers. Probably the GREATEST baseball moment from a team that didn't even win the game.
This releasing on the day Juan Soto had an automatic chills moment in the ALCS is awesome!
I just found your channel. LOVE IT. You do great work.
I have a suggestion...
Put together an "all world series team" considering all players that have played in a world series dating back to the 2000 world series.
Maybe 2 at each position.
i know it doesnt make thelist because it wasnt in the last 25 years, but i think Joe Carterr has The greatest moment in post season history. everything about it is great. prrobably the best call from the announcer too
another cool playoff AB i love is Miguel Cabrera vs Roger Clemens in Game 4 of the 2003 WS. A 20yo Miggy facing maybe one of the most intimidating pitchers of the time. Clemens coming up and in with a fastball to rattle him, Miggy staring him back down. The battle, the foul balls, then maybe one of the coolest home runs ever. Not one of the most consequential hits of all time but to me, represents what the game is all about.
Papi's HR in Game 4 of the ALCS is a top 10 all-time playoff hit. Gonzo's walkoff is the only thing on this list that should be above it. Retrospect has shown this to be _the moment_ The Curse of the Bambino was lifted. Remember, this HR sparked the greatest comeback in baseball history, and against the mighty Yankees, who had _one season prior_ beaten them with a Game 7 walkoff from Aaron F. Boone of all people. The GR was so instantly iconic, a major motion picture had to have major re-writes _during filming_ and was all but forced to include the footage from the game _in the middle of making the movie_ . Jolly, we're all fans, but downplaying this hit as anything other than a top-20 moment in all of baseball history is just a full-on disservice to the sport. No idea how you missed on this one.
Love these. Would love to see top ALCS and nlcs ranks since 2000
Juan Sotos 3 run jack to send the Yankees to the world series in 2024, auto chills GO YANKS
Rajai Davis and Ben Zobrist gave us two great moments in one of the greatest games in MLB history. It feels like that was the last truly great World Series, especially considering everything that came out after the Astros won the World Series the following year
Did I miss it or did you not include Scott Spiezio’s home run in Game 6 of the 2002 WS? If not, this list is invalid lol
I got to see Nationals vs cardinals nlcs in 2019 and I can say that playoff game had the best atmosphere out of every other game I’ve ever went to
Brandon Crawford hitting a Grand Slam in a win or go home game in Pittsburgh against their ace for his home team will live on forever.
I love these tier lists man!
You oughta do a list with 20th century baseball moments. Mazeroski's home run walking off the World Series, Babe calling his shot against the Cubs, Carlton Fisk walking off Game 6, Sid Bream scoring to send the Braves to the '92 World Series, etc.
Thanks for a great season with great coverage. Love you Jolly, makes me proud to be a Met fan knowing how well you represent us!
Geoff Blum hits a home run in the 14th inning of Game 3 of the 2005 world series and it doesn't even get considered and it honestly might still be a shrug if it did because it's overshadowed by Mark Buehrle getting the save after having a couple beers in the clubhouse.
Similarly Jermaine Dye's clutch single in game 4 gets overshadowed by Jenks save.
Gonna have to add a few more …Cleveland AND NYY moments… Noel, Stanton, fry, Soto
100% such an incredible series for sure!
