Was looking for this comment. How do you have Freddie’s HR and Soler’s HR but not Eddie’s? Finally beat the Dodgers in the playoffs after losing to them 3 of the last 4 playoff appearances (2013 NLDS, 2018 NLDS, 2020 NLCS). Arguably biggest hit of the playoffs for the Braves. Edit: after watching the Freddie clip I feel even stronger. We won two playoff series in 2020.
Schwarber ripping a moonshot double off the wall in Game 1 of the World Series. It was his first at bat since tearing his ACL and LCL 6 months prior. He also hit a double to start off the 10th inning after the rain delay to setup the Zobrist hit. He batted over .400 that series. The Miguel Montero walk off grand slam in game 1 of the NLCS after the Cubs came back from being down is automatic chills too. Montero didn't bat well all year and yet he came through in the biggest moments that postseason
Honorable mention I feel like to Mike Brosseau's go-ahead homerun off Chapman in the 2020 ALDS, Game 5. Got down in the count, then fouled off some tough pitches to start timing up Chapman, then boom, home run. You could feel the AB shifting from favoring the pitcher to favoring the hitter the more pitches he saw, just a fantastic piece of hitting and was the game and series winning hit in a year the Rays did go to the World Series. Not nearly as remembered as Phillips's hit, but just as impressive imo.
As much as I love the homerun to win the world series. The homer against Robbie Ray is easily more iconic. It was game 1 alds, a division rival, astros down by a lot, yordan walkoff 3 run bomb game 1 to really set the tone for the whole series.
@mrswizzlestickz2646 I'll even raise you one and say it set the tone for the entire Astros Post-season. First off, if he doesn't come through against Robbie Ray, Seattle steals one in Houston, leverages the momentum, and perhaps eliminates Houston in rd 1. Furthermore, that walk-off NUKE was preceded by a pitching change in an effort to neutralize the powerful lefthanded bat of Yordan. Obviously that was an ill advised move, punctuated by an absolutely soul crushing moonshot & a boss ass bat flip. FF to WS Game 6, similar scene. Electric tension filled that same stadium with palpable nervous anticipation in a very similar scenario. Pitching change, runners on, lefty lefty, game on the line... Yordan don't flinch. Zero fear of failure. He read that book already. He knows how it ends. Just hunting for his pitch. And then... "On a 2-1, Alvarez hits a high drive, centerfield, Vierling's back? THIS GAME HAS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN!!!!" Thus adding an iconic final bookend to a magical title run that likely wouldn't have even come to fruition were it not for that first historic walkoff moment against Robbie Ray. God I love baseball 🥹
I was at 2016 WS Game 7 as a Cleveland fan. The Davis HR remains the best single experience of my life. I wrote my college essay about the HR, and for Rice University in Houston you have to submit a photo along with your application but without any context ("The Box"). The photo I submitted was of Davis celebrating his HR. I'm now a senior at Rice
I’d love to see a “before my time” tier with some of the classics like Joe Carter, Bill Mazeroski, Kirk Gibson, Carlton Fisk and Bobby Thompson’s homers or Don Larsen’s perfect game
add Jhnokensy Noel's huge Home run to save the guardians, or Bryce Harper staring down Arcia twice, or Kyle Schwarber's longest home run in San Diego in 2022
8:00 people often remember zobrist’s double for good reason but forget miguel montero’s single right after to add a needed insurance run that would ultimately be the winning run in the end. I get that the single isn’t as exciting but it’s worth noting, especially to cubs fans.
19:42 Pujols' homerun off Lidge was in 05. Cardinals won the NLCS in 04 and 06. The Lidge ending homerun was the year the Astros won the NLCS and got swept by the White Sox.
To me, everything about the Seager home run screams top tier. Down to their last out, against a closer that was unhittable all postseason. Joe Davis’s call, and the crowd reaction is one of the loudest I can ever remember on TV.
Missing Lindor’s grand slam against the Yankees , the commentary and crowd were top tier. Also Kendrick’s Grand slam vs Joe Kelly, the way that series of events unraveled and you can hear the horror in the voice of the crowd as soon as the ball was hit as they new it was all over.
seeing ishikawa's homer in the upper tiers made me so happy, especially since you talked about his backstory. it's an insane moment on its own, but knowing that ish was that close to retiring about two months before makes it all the better.
15:50 was up all night watching with my friend who is from NYC and the tension in the room turning into electricity in an instant was incredible. We had traveled to NY to visit his family for two weeks that season and saw them play the Mariners in old Yankee Stadium.. which was my first big league game. Still the highlight of my baseball fandom and an iconic moment!
Lindors grand slam in Cleveland in 2017 I love as a Cleveland fan myself. But I understand that it’s not in the video considering the outcome. But if you watch the replay the call and crowd was insane. Absolute euphoria. Cleveland has one the best postseason atmospheres cause we have the smallest capacity stadium but that was the loudest a stadium had ever been to that point idk if it still is, but amazing moment
i know it doesnt make thelist because it wasnt in the last 25 years, but i think Joe Carterr has The greatest moment in post season history. everything about it is great. prrobably the best call from the announcer too
Putting moments against the Rangers on Holy Grail and Automatic Chills while the Corey Seager game-tying home run from the Rangers World Series winning year goes into the On Replay for Years tier. I see how it is. Well I'll keep watching it and keep loving it and keep getting automatic chills from it.
I think it's cause of the game. Freeze was game 6 right? Or 7? I forget but when you're an out away from elimination and you pull out a win that's a bit more impactful. Seagers hit is like Kirk Gibson, remembered well but game 1.
Nothing from the 2013 Red Sox World Series run is criminal, the 3 that come to mind are Ortiz game tying grand slam in game 2 of ALDS and either Victorino’s grand slam in the ALDS or his bases clearing double in game 6 of the World Series with the crowd singing along to three little birds as his walk up. That double clinched the World Series.
Shane Victorino grand slam off Sabathia in 08...that's the biggest HR of the 08 Phills plus the sequence of events leading to the grand slam. Brett Myers drawing a walk on 9 pitches prior. That moment I knew we were winning it all!
If Cleveland won Game 7, you could make an argument that Rajai Davis' homer is a top 3 MLB moment EVER behind the two World Series-clinching homers. Probably the GREATEST baseball moment from a team that didn't even win the game.
I honestly put Bellinger's go-ahead single off Doval in game 5 of the 2021 NLDS should've been here. Greatest year of any baseball rivalry, and will forever be my favorite hit of all time.
Being at the 2019 WC game was so surreal man. Was at game 5 in 2012 vs STL, Game 2 in 2014 vs sf, both absolute heartbreakers. Years of NLDS postseason torture went away with one swing from Soto. Loudest Nats park has ever been. Think I watch that clip at least 3 times a week, along with Howie’s.
As a Phillies fan I may be biased, but to not even have Bryson Stott’s grand slam against the marlins on here in any position is crazy. The hit might not have meant that much but the imagery and atmosphere of the hit was insane. The fans signing the walk up song, and then first pitch home-run, that gets so much replay already.
Bryson Stott's Grand Spam against the Marlins in the NLWC (especially with the pure stadium audio) is an all time amazing baseball moment. I have a hard time thinking of another sport that can have that kind of moment.
Honestly as an Astros fan Yordons game 1 walk off is above his game 6 go ahead homer. In ALL of game 6 I never had any doubt we were gonna loose, even after the scwarber homer I still knew that we were gonna come back. But in game 1 going into the bottom of the 9th I thought the game was over. The mariners had all the momentum and especially when Altuve struck out I just lost all hope. And then I absolutely freaked out when he hit the moonshot. Everybody watching the game from home, everyone in the stadium, the announcers, the players, everyone knew that ball was not coming back. A more special moment than his WS homer in my opinion although I lost my voice both times
soler in shrug is crazy lol i expected nothing less coming from a mets fan. i get freddies go ahead home run in the nlds being on here but kinda surprised swanson and solers back to back didn't make it
Geoff Blum hits a home run in the 14th inning of Game 3 of the 2005 world series and it doesn't even get considered and it honestly might still be a shrug if it did because it's overshadowed by Mark Buehrle getting the save after having a couple beers in the clubhouse. Similarly Jermaine Dye's clutch single in game 4 gets overshadowed by Jenks save.
I feel like Michael Harris' leaping catch that doubled up Harper should be here. Crazy comeback by the Braves and a crazy end to the game. I am biased because I was there and Im a Braves fan but thats my opinion
Papi's HR in Game 4 of the ALCS is a top 10 all-time playoff hit. Gonzo's walkoff is the only thing on this list that should be above it. Retrospect has shown this to be _the moment_ The Curse of the Bambino was lifted. Remember, this HR sparked the greatest comeback in baseball history, and against the mighty Yankees, who had _one season prior_ beaten them with a Game 7 walkoff from Aaron F. Boone of all people. The GR was so instantly iconic, a major motion picture had to have major re-writes _during filming_ and was all but forced to include the footage from the game _in the middle of making the movie_ . Jolly, we're all fans, but downplaying this hit as anything other than a top-20 moment in all of baseball history is just a full-on disservice to the sport. No idea how you missed on this one.
That game was criminal, they should of lost that game , and it would of been over after Dodgers won game 6 . They scored 12 or something like that to beat the Dodgers by 1 in Houston. How many of the 12 came from banging a trash can …..I’m sure u think none ….
Thanks for respecting the Nats incredible postseason moments of 2019…I am a diehard Nat fan. Started watching the Nats with my dad in 2009, 3rd grade and got to see them win it all in 2019 in my freshman year of college
As a D-Backs fan, I'll give a few of more honorable mentions from their 2023 Postseason run: - 2023 NLDS Game 3 (VS Dodgers): Four Home Runs in One Inning - Made even more brilliant when Gabriel Moreno's homer was called foul, but he then hits one regardless after the review. - 2023 NLCS Game 3 (VS Phillies): Ketel Marte's Walk Off - Tied at one run apiece for most of the game, Marte's clutch hit give the D-Backs a much needed win after being down 2-0 in the series. - 2023 NLCS Game 4 (VS Phillies): Alek Thomas Game Tying Home Run in the 8th Inning - The Answerbacks once again strike back in late game fashion and take the lead from Gabriel Moreno's go ahead hit. This leads to the D-Backs winning the game and tying the series 2-2. Another mention from the 2017 World Series. I know it's become controversial with the Astros sign stealing, but back then, fans were none the wiser, and it was an incredibly clutch moment: - 2017 World Series Game 5 (Astros VS Dodgers): Alex Bregman Walk Off Hit - This game was intense, with the Dodgers and Astros countering each other run by run. However, it was Bregman's RBI in the bottom of the 10th inning which won the game for the Astros.
JD Drew’s grand slam off Fausto Carmona in the 07 ALCS still chills me to my core. Down 3-1 in the series, steals game 5 in Cleveland to stay alive, and in the 1st inning of game 6 he blows the game open. I was 10 years old and at the game with my dad, that was the loudest I have ever seen Fenway Park
another cool playoff AB i love is Miguel Cabrera vs Roger Clemens in Game 4 of the 2003 WS. A 20yo Miggy facing maybe one of the most intimidating pitchers of the time. Clemens coming up and in with a fastball to rattle him, Miggy staring him back down. The battle, the foul balls, then maybe one of the coolest home runs ever. Not one of the most consequential hits of all time but to me, represents what the game is all about.
Would've loved to see Russell Martin's Home Run in the 2013 Wildcard game. The way the Pittsburgh crowd got to Cueto, before the homer was hit is amazing
Jolly - one of my favorite of your videos. I do think that the Holy Grail tier should be reserved for winners. I would have put Howie’s HR above Davis’. The audible “clang” off the foul pole was iconic. One of the greatest moments in WS history given the Nats 2005-2019 storyline, not to mention the DC baseball curse since 1924 that the media ignored for some reason. The hindsight of knowing what happened to the Nats downfall post 2019 adds to it.
2022 Oscar "Spongebob" Gonzalez, 15th inning walk off HR off Corey Kluber to eliminate the Rays in the Wild card round, then the game 3 walk off single to cap a comeback win against the Yankees a week later in the ALDS.
Rajai Davis and Ben Zobrist gave us two great moments in one of the greatest games in MLB history. It feels like that was the last truly great World Series, especially considering everything that came out after the Astros won the World Series the following year
Thank you for properly rating the Soler HR. So funny when Braves fans try to troll by showing that HR, like it was a 7-0 blowout no Astros fan really cares
What sucks about Altuve’s walk off I’m 2019 is that in my opinion DJ LeMahieu had an equally as iconic homer to tie the game in the 9th but it is always overshadowed. That homerun always gave me chills

You gotta add Freddie now. That one will be remembered for centuries
Yordan's nuke against Robbie Ray was the definition of the most clutch play off home run, i du no what you are smoking my guy
THIS GAME HAS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN!!!!"
Thus adding an iconic final bookend to a magical title run that likely wouldn't have even come to fruition were it not for that first historic walkoff moment against Robbie Ray. God I love baseball 🥹
Not including the Kendrick grand slam against the dodgers is criminal
The Nationals had so many clutch hits in the 2019 championship run
I was at 2016 WS Game 7 as a Cleveland fan. The Davis HR remains the best single experience of my life. I wrote my college essay about the HR, and for Rice University in Houston you have to submit a photo along with your application but without any context ("The Box"). The photo I submitted was of Davis celebrating his HR. I'm now a senior at Rice
I was there too, absolutely epic and bone chilling! Wish my Tribe would have pulled it off.
I’d love to see a “before my time” tier with some of the classics like Joe Carter, Bill Mazeroski, Kirk Gibson, Carlton Fisk and Bobby Thompson’s homers or Don Larsen’s perfect game
Agreed. Plus, it would be an excuse to finally get at least one top-tier Mets play on the list.
add Jhnokensy Noel's huge Home run to save the guardians, or Bryce Harper staring down Arcia twice, or Kyle Schwarber's longest home run in San Diego in 2022
8:00 people often remember zobrist’s double for good reason but forget miguel montero’s single right after to add a needed insurance run that would ultimately be the winning run in the end. I get that the single isn’t as exciting but it’s worth noting, especially to cubs fans.
The Montero grad slam in Game 1 of the NLCS is also an underrated moment.
I'm shocked Scott Spiezio's homerun in game 6 of the 2002 World Series wasn't on this list
19:42
Pujols' homerun off Lidge was in 05.
As a Cubs fan, I can respect the Davis homerun in automatic chills. Partially because we had chills as well. Just very awful chills
Holy shit a lot of these are biased and did NOT make sense 💀
Kinda a garbo tier list. Sorry bud
Bro is a cardinals hater
And a braves hater
Lindors grand slam in Cleveland in 2017 I love as a Cleveland fan myself. But I understand that it’s not in the video considering the outcome. But if you watch the replay the call and crowd was insane. Absolute euphoria. Cleveland has one the best postseason atmospheres cause we have the smallest capacity stadium but that was the loudest a stadium had ever been to that point idk if it still is, but amazing moment
I too was there, that game was beyond incredible, the park was so electric!
15:07 I don't know, man. Boston was down 3-1 in that ALCS to the Indians and had to storm their way back.
Dude should re-title the Video " I'm gonna hate on the Red Sox because they have been the most dominant franchise since 2000"
Thank you lmaoo. I was super stressed out during that ALCS.
I respect your bias jolly. Saying Alvarez home run more chilling that Harper is crazy
No Justin Turner walk-off HR in 2017 against John Lackey, but including CT3's HR against the Cards, is CRAZY!!!!
i know it doesnt make thelist because it wasnt in the last 25 years, but i think Joe Carterr has The greatest moment in post season history. everything about it is great. prrobably the best call from the announcer too
As a Cubs fan, time legitimately stopped when Rajai Davis hit that home run off Chapman.
We need to see where you're putting Juan Soto's homer from game 5.
@@ILoveMisty1985 Only Rangers fans would seriously think the Freese and Seager homers were on the same level, what are we doing here 💀💀💀
Brandon Crawford hitting a Grand Slam in a win or go home game in Pittsburgh against their ace for his home team will live on forever.
Did you forget Justin Turner's 2017 Walk off in the NLCS or did I miss it?
Right? After that homer it felt like the dodgers were finally gonna make the WS
I honestly put Bellinger's go-ahead single off Doval in game 5 of the 2021 NLDS should've been here. Greatest year of any baseball rivalry, and will forever be my favorite hit of all time.
@@josephsilva345bellingers 2020 nlcs game 7 homerun too
Bellinger’s 2018 NLCS game 4 walkoff is super underrated too. Dodgers could’ve been down 3-1.
“LINDOR WITH A SWING AND A DRIVE AND ITS GONEE”
The most clutch hr that no one remembers- 2011 2 run hr game 6 from josh hamilton
Man I miss Josh Hamilton
One major one you forgot was Joe Carters walkoff in 1993
That was top tier 💯
As a Phillies fan I may be biased, but to not even have Bryson Stott’s grand slam against the marlins on here in any position is crazy. The hit might not have meant that much but the imagery and atmosphere of the hit was insane. The fans signing the walk up song, and then first pitch home-run, that gets so much replay already.
Russell Martin’s home run in the NL wild card game, pirates vs reds. First pirates playoff game in decades. Cueeeeeeetoooo, cueeeeettoooooo
Bryson Stott's Grand Spam against the Marlins in the NLWC (especially with the pure stadium audio) is an all time amazing baseball moment. I have a hard time thinking of another sport that can have that kind of moment.
True
True
You’re crazy. Seaver’s homerun is absolutely chills. Lead to the first World Series in Texas Rangers championship
Did I miss it or did you not include Scott Spiezio’s home run in Game 6 of the 2002 WS? If not, this list is invalid lol
Juan Sotos 3 run jack to send the Yankees to the world series in 2024, auto chills GO YANKS
2023 is the year for the Rangers that the Guardians need to have in 2025.
Thank you for putting Papi’s 2013 grand slam in the top tier, remember that hit everyday!
soler in shrug is crazy lol i expected nothing less coming from a mets fan. i get freddies go ahead home run in the nlds being on here but kinda surprised swanson and solers back to back didn't make it
I think we have a couple more moments to add to this list with the 2024 ALCS
Geoff Blum hits a home run in the 14th inning of Game 3 of the 2005 world series and it doesn't even get considered and it honestly might still be a shrug if it did because it's overshadowed by Mark Buehrle getting the save after having a couple beers in the clubhouse.
Similarly Jermaine Dye's clutch single in game 4 gets overshadowed by Jenks save.
5:40 Magglio’s walk off was 3 run hr not a grand slam
10:26 I disagree with you, I think any World Series winning home run (even in retrospect) should be higher
Not to mention it was an absolute piss missile
Mets fan bias was shown lmao
Braves had a ton of iconic moments also. The back to back by Danaby and soler
No Alex Bregman 2017 World Series Game 5 walk off single is criminal. One of the greatest moments in postseason history.
As a D-Backs fan, I'll give a few of more honorable mentions from their 2023 Postseason run:
- 2023 NLDS Game 3 (VS Dodgers): Four Home Runs in One Inning - Made even more brilliant when Gabriel Moreno's homer was called foul, but he then hits one regardless after the review.
I know it's become controversial with the Astros sign stealing, but back then, fans were none the wiser, and it was an incredibly clutch moment:
- 2017 World Series Game 5 (Astros VS Dodgers): Alex Bregman Walk Off Hit - This game was intense, with the Dodgers and Astros countering each other run by run. However, it was Bregman's RBI in the bottom of the 10th inning which won the game for the Astros.
JOLLY WHERE IS LINDOR'S GRAND SLAM VS THE YANKEES??????
The 5 minutes after the rajai davis home run were the worst moments of my life, we won that game and I still can’t watch replays of that
2005 World Series Game 2 walkoff was insane to see in person
100% great call on that one, it was epic for sure!!! That was the end of Kluber too.
Thanks for a great season with great coverage. Love you Jolly, makes me proud to be a Met fan knowing how well you represent us!
2 Yankees ones that came to mind right away were Tex’s walk off homer in the 09 ALDS and Hicks’ 3 run shot in the 2019 ALCS
Only matter of time sotos homerun to send Yankees to world series is on this list
It's an absolute moonshot that I don't think any other fanbase cares about all that much.
Gonna have to add a few more …Cleveland AND NYY moments… Noel, Stanton, fry, Soto
100% such an incredible series for sure!
What sucks about Altuve’s walk off I’m 2019 is that in my opinion DJ LeMahieu had an equally as iconic homer to tie the game in the 9th but it is always overshadowed. That homerun always gave me chills
The Yordan bomb off of Robbie Ray is easily automatic chills.
You should do a part 2 to this, so many more iconic postseason moments that could be included. For me, definitely the Lindor grand slams in 2024 (that one hurts me) and 2017, the Hoskins bat spike in 2022, the Victorino grand slam in the 2013 ALCS, Hamilton in 2011 WS Gm6, Renteria in 2010, Adam Kennedy in 2002, and probably a ton more that I can't think of right now. Enough to get 15+ minutes out of a video? I mean maybe, but definitely feels like a few were left out
Not all of these are clutch. But all of these are iconic. Might wanna change the title.
15:35 was today years old to learn Aaron Boone played baseball never the less for the Yankees 😭😭
