I’m curious what kind of process have you been using?

@@LabcraftStudio i was just hand sculpting bases in nomad sculpt and hoped for the best on the fit 😅😅

Oh yeah, this method is WAY easier. CAD software allows for the needed precision but you can’t as freely sculpt. You can use similar software such as Tinkercad or Autodesk as an alternative to Shapr.

@@LabcraftStudio I always been a bit afraid of cad softwares, quite overwhelming but I’ll face my fears though and start using them! :] thank you for sharing your process!

I did a live last month as an intro to Shapr and I cover some of the basics. I had some serious sound issues with the broadcast unfortunately but it might give you some insight into the software.

This is great! Not only are the pins cool to make, but you've inspired me to make a double sided key chain version. I also wanted to ask if you put anything on the sticker before you put the UV Resin on it?

This was a vinyl sticker, so it seemed to tolerate the resin OK without needing sealed. But I have tried them with standard online label stickers, and you really need to throw some sort of sealant over it. If you do layer of lamination, either self laminating or heat lamination, it works just fine.

Very cool! What material is the pin itself made from? I'm not familiar with 3d printing materials?

It's called PLA. A plastic that’s made from corn typically. It can be composted in industrial composting. There are other materials, but this is the most common to work with.

I do. It’s not perfect and sometimes when I need to do more mesh modeling I will do it in Nomad sculpt but it is definitely great for CAD design. It is subscription based software, but it is at least multi platform and fairly intuitive.
