I'm grateful I was raised on this.
I wasn't but I'm glad I discovered it
Short & simple -- W O W !!! I'm almost 70 grew up with them, feel like a teen again!!
THE BEST Yes show that I ever saw (2 drums, 2 keyboards, 2 guitars, 1 bass and singer). Every songs sounded like a ton of brick and hit you right in the gut. Just one word for that show WOW. More then 26 years later and I still remember the feeling of it.
I saw that tour also. My first "In the Round" experience. It was amazing!
I also saw this tour in the round, front row and it was bittersweet because my friend that had muscular dystrophy and got us the handicapped section seats, he couldn't make it because he was having a medical emergency in the hospital, so watching this tour in Albany NY front row was especially powerful.
Funny thing is I couldn't convince anyone that the extra front row ticket I had was real, and I couldn't sell it to anyone however I tried.
I wasn't even trying to sell it for more than face value.
Every musician on that stage was phenomenal.
I was 3rd row for that Albany show and I feel like I’ll even remember it when I’m dead. It was, is that unforgettable. ❤
Yes forever!!!
The bass player counts for 2. One of the best ever. 😁
The best show I have ever been to period. This tour in Washington DC. My friends had bought their tickets on the first sale date. I bought mine last minute. Three days before the show. I sat with them up in nosebleed. There were some empty seats around them and they had the shrooms. About half way through I ventured down to my seat just to see where it was. I kept going lower and lower and lower. My seat was in like row 5. I was looking UP to the band. No one was sitting to my right, left, front or back. I spread out, put my feet up. Heaven. Ticket price was the same, too. Not like today, where you'd pay 800 dollars for up front seat tickets.
Two guitarists, two keyboard players, two drummers, ONE bassist, ONE singer.
Thanks for letting us know what the line up is.
@@marlowemarlowe4893
Chris Squire bass
John Anderson vocals
Steve Howe guitar
Rick Wakeman synths and piano
Tony Kaye keyboards
Bill Bruford percussion
Alan White drums
Trevor Rabin guitar
Howe is the most unique guitar player who ever walked on this planet! -this guy is unbelievable.
I got to meet him in a album signing for Asia, looked him straight in the eye and said "You're the best, man." He said thanks and seemed to take it to heart.
Indeed without a doubt 🎸🎸🎸
I don’t know of another guitar player who can play all the different styles he can. And who plays live and switches between all those different kinds of guitars? Answer: no one.
Howe is totally one of a kind.
I. LOVE JEFF BECK & WAS BROKEN-HEARTED AT HIS SUDDEN PASSING. STEVE HOWE IS THE LAST OF THE ORIGINAL GREATS. HOW DID HE AMASS SUCH A UNIQUE TALENT IN '71. AND SO DAMN YOUNG. I WISH NO ONE WOULD DIE W THIS GOD GIVEN SKILL.
Thanks so much for share.
Great YES music: song, performance and arrangement.
Nice memories.
Virtuosos:
🎼🎤🥁🎸🎤🎹🎤🎸🎤🎹🥁🎸.
Absolute classic! Timeless.Look at these stageanimals! Love, it! Every second of it.
Lost in music, circumstances, thats just where you are.
How did Yes manage to attract two such incredibly talented guitar players as Steve Howe and Trevor Rabin? It may have been difficult for the two of them to share the same space on stage, but they did a great job of displaying their talents in a song that was ideally suited for them to wow us with their musical abilities. Loved it!
Howe is incredibly affected by Rabin's presence on stage. He doesn't do the half of what he is capable of. Rabin shines
Trevor Rabin is great but Steve Howe is Friggin motzart
And 2 incredible drummers with Bruford and White
@giovannigalvagno8720 Nonsense. Howe played excellent this tour.
TALENT personified! Musicians exude any and all past or present musicians with their uniqueness, versatility and energy ! It doesn't get any better than this.
Yours is no disgrace turned me into a Yes fan for some 50 years already, this is a fantastic performance of the song. Thanks for uploading
Stage full of Maestros!
Steve, Trevor and Chris. The best trio of guitars ever.
RIP Chris. They shouldn't be doing it without you.
They should have packed it in after Jon and Rick left.
I remember the sound being so well mixed, so overwhelming. I also remember being surprised at how well the two guitarists playing styles overlapped and wove in between each other, all at the same time. Great show! As always, YES!
Amazing concert-Rabin was being a shredder show-off but these 2 versions of Yes all playing together will never be forgotten! Remember all the Hits Trevor wrote for the band like Lonely Heart and made them very popular, before you criticize his guitar playing.
He does tv and movie soundtracks now. I see his name pop up in the credits.
Saw them in Rotterdam in the Union Tour in 1991. They opened the show with this.
It was the start of a great and unforgettable concert.
The turning round podium in the middle of the arena and all these great musicians together.
Yes rocked like never before!
They opened every Union Tour show with YIND as I'm aware.
1 of the thousands of Masterpieces that is a TRUE classic!
First time I have seen the full length of this stunning track, I always loved Yes what a fantastic show this must have been.
The extrodanary band of all time nobody plays live like them better than a recording
It was an amazing show! I saw it in Indianapolis. Three hours of the most fantastic music you can imagine. They played everything you could have wanted to hear.
To see Chris smiling and having a great time and just on it is a treat! Would give anything to have this tour as a memory! They were all at the TOP of their game!
I was at the MSG show which I believe closed the tour, and they blew the roof off the place...it was transcendent.
I saw 2 times YES in '70 (sigh!) with original set...fantastic days!
Muso of nearly 50 yrs Guitarist in awe of steve Howe so why is it im still totally listening to Chris Squires Bass playing? So much drive! wow!
I saw them on this tour and I got Alan's drumsticks. I'll never forget this! 🌴🌴
Chris is a monster on the Bass. Always a huge part of any Yes dong. 😁👌
Thank you Tim Bryan, Crystal Lake Illinois for turning me on to this in 1972
Steve Howe is in a class all by himself. There aren't many better guitarists to be found.
Still sends shivers up the back…brilliant 👍👍
Simply awesome..
Can you imagine the rehearsals for this??? Just WOW!!!!! Incredible.
My guess is a lot of arguing who plays what part.
This is what you call a jam session 🎸🎹🎼🎵🎶. I love the way they played
5 dislike, they either have no idea what great music is or they're Justin Bieber fangirls.....lol!!
Yes has very distinctive harmonies that put them head and shoulders above a lot of bands!
That little fall into Big Generator at 10:15, so good.
Yes is one of the best bands ever formed . They don't have music like this any more . This real music at it's best
Tool
Damn it, Chris. Why did you have to leave us?
+6arcsn1sky You can't blame a guy who paid all his dues for going home to paradise, Bro. But we'll all be up there soon, indeed. )
+Paul F Brown Well, he still had a few more years to go before he'd be put to the ground.
One of the best!
😢 😢💔
I still can't believe it.
R.I.P. Chris.
@@6arcsn1sky But he left ALOT!
YES! YES! YES! ROCKS! Amazing as always!! Steve rocks it like no other. Everybody is exceptional!! Love jamming on the drums to them!! 💜💚✌️🗝😎🎤🎸🥁🎹🎸🎸☮️W.💚💜
The years of memories Yes gave us. Sad they won't play live much longer but the music will forever!
Yes forever!!!
@@frankhoulihanfh4972 I made 2 Yes concerts in the 70's and 1 in the 80's but given them all up to be at this one!
@@nolaserv Some reading these comments have been to many more shows than we have, but we all share the joy of having seen them. These memories we take with us but on this channel are being archived. The future will view Yes with the same love and disbelief. How were they this good?! Music for all times.
@@frankhoulihanfh4972 Probably hundreds of years from now too. If it was good back in the day and they are still doing it. Tomorrow has no limits.
The best and most terrific version of Yours is no Disgrace ever. A multitude of sounds, mixing the old and more melodic Yes with its more modern and heavier version of the Rabin era.
Wherever this show was recorded, this song (and perhaps the entire show) deserves a remastered and cleaner audio. Does anyone know where to find?
Unreal
Too bad for the Stones... I just got some satisfaction!
masterpiece of a video presentation!!!
I really like the contrast between some of the band members who play the same instruments
The cool thing about Steve Howe's playing is he never really had very much gain . Gibson ES 175 through a couple of Fender Twins ? Doesn't get any cleaner than that .
That's what so many young players don't seem to get about Steve, and about electric guitar. Precision and power through the fingers can sound like a banshee when a band is tight. You're playing a guitar, not a pedal. Want to learn how a true guitar great plays the way they do? Study their influences; use a metronome. Imagine Wes Montgomery or Chet Atkins with a Mesa Boogie. Silly, right? Spend six months in an ashram with Carol Kaye studying tempo/groove, and maybe-MAYBE we'll let you have an MXR compressor or treble boost on the way in.
i remember being in Washington DC for this tour. It was an awesome show to go to. I was still younger, and always loved them growing up
awesome song with an awesome guitar riff !
I AM SO FUCKING BLOWN. LIKELY, THE BEST LIVE RECORDING EVER. IT IS BEYOND THE STARS!
I'm a fan of '70's YES, back in their peak of live perfomances. I saw them in 78' & 79', and for me it's all about the Core Five (Anderson, Squire, Howe, Wakeman, and Alan White on drums). What I like best about seeing this footage of Union Tour is Bruford playing more of the percussionist role while White chugs along as the premier live rock drummer of my lifetime (and I've seen all the best drummers). Bruford was the great studio perfectionist with the jazz chops, but White brought them to another level playing live, especially when they really rock out like on this track.
This is correct.
I love everyone in the band all so talented , THE BEST
This version Rocks!!! Thank-You for Posting!
In one word FANTASTIC
A show I never thought I'd see...I was 19yrs old...and a yes fan since I was 15. The union of the two camps was an almost religious experience...and the Wembley arena gigs were my church. The round was the ultimate.
I'd have too say The Yes Union Tour was 1 of the greatest non-Benefit show's i'd ever seen.. Caught this tour at MSG New York City.. Sat side stage lodge with 3 of my best friends.. The stage was set up different Bufford and White were along side each other back of the stage, like a traditional band set up.... And Patrick Moraz was on the other keyboards instead of Tony Kaye... To this day i sometimes bring up this show to my buddy's and all of them tell me, I WAS SO HIGH AT THAT SHOW I HARDLY REMEMBER IT!!!!!!... Well, i was just high enough and remember it all!!!!!!! The Band played their entire recorded History.. 3 hour plus concert.. just AMAZING...................
@TheThroet I totally agree!! I saw them when they were the lead in band for Jethro Tull at the Alexandria Roller Rink. (Alexandria,Va.)'71-'72!! Wakeman had leslies stacked 5 high on each side of the stage. Almost didn't want to here Tull after this ear-opening super group played. Fantastic!! And I too thank you for sharing!!
Yes Steve Howe is a remarkable player, but Trevor rabin? Cmon! The guy is outstanding!
However > Rabin
John Anderson's Voice of an Angel❤
holy crap that was fire
I had almost forgotten how much fun these shows were. We caught 'em 3 times, including a couple of road trips, to Detroit and Cincinnati. Thanks for the post.
A shining moment in the highly criticized Union your. Four part vocal harmony is outstanding and nobody seems to overstep their role. Howe and Rabin complement each other nicely on the signature lengthy guitar passage.
The Union tour wasn’t criticized at all. The album was a disaster though! Rick Wakeman called it “Onion” because it made him cry whenever he heard it! Possibly the best 3 concerts I ever saw!
I like this because Tony and Bill, who are on the original cut, are here playing together, which is rare. Very few videos of that incarnation of Yes before Wakeman and White.
So is Howe, Squire and Anderson. How can you forget them?
@@lenini056 yes of course but I mean in addition to them, and in a rare instance, because these two that is Tony and Bill, had not played together on stage for such a long time.
I remember the union tour stopped in Vegas!! Great show at the round at Thomas and Mack center!!: great revolving stage.. no bad seats in the house!!🤘
Holy shit!!!!❤
They were all the greatest ever .
loving the rabin white combo
Saw this concert twice at the Spectrum in Philly. Mesmerizing
"Battleships confide in me and tell me where you are"
Merci beaucoup.
Around 10:22, Trevor and Alan used a few seconds from the song Big Generator.
i think its the best video of the year
Trevor Rabin, MONSTER...👏👏👏👏
perfect.완벽하다 진짜!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great song
Elrond on guitar
JON NUANEZ IS RIGHT JUST IMAGINE SITTING SOLO IN THE FRONT ROW during the rehearsals for this.....I'M IN HEAVEN........I SAW THIS SHOW AT THE CENTRUM IN WORCESTER, MASS. IN 91' PHENOMENAL......LOVE THE OPENING THUNDEROUS GUITARS ACCENTUATED BY CHRIS SQUIRE'S HUGE BASS SOUNDS........MY BROTHERS and I were blown away by this show STEVE HOWE'S SOLO AT 5.02 ......I LOVE RICK WAKEMAN,. Years before I saw the ANDERSON, BRUFORD, WAKEMAN AND HOWE TOUR.......AT THE BALLfield in OLD ORCHARD,. Maine. Wakeman was right in front of me magical evening outdoors. LOVE YES......
Real music, with real band. Not made up from computer crap
Greatest band ever!
these guys do not get the recognition they deserve...
I don't know who this new guitarist is next to Steve Howe but I like him. What a bonus to the band.
Trevor Rabin. Owner of a Lonely Heart era. He's awesome. He just released a new album and it's killer.
I play this song on Rocksmith, great song to play if you want a challenge for accuracy and endurance, feels like I just ran a marathon after playing it.
I love the lack of egos on display here. You have basically not one 1 but 2 generations of the best rock musicians of all time, all on stage for a full display of sonic euphoria. Rabin and Howe really tore it up. They're both so good that you have to see it to believe it.
Damn!... Old dudes are kicking out the jams..looks like a fun show to be at... Has to be from the 80s from looking at the clothes and ol boy being a cross between a sheik and captain crunch 😂😂😂
Good thing when I saw this tour live I couldn’t hear all the stuff Trevor Rabin was playing during the Steve Howe songs. It’s interesting to be able to hear it in this video, but truthfully I only want to hear Howe on the classic Yes songs.
Rabin was overplaying big time and needed to chill out and back off. Howe didn’t do that on Rabin’s songs.
Agree - but little bit of Dance of Maya at 10min mark - can forgive MHO insert.
This is so good... Rabin and Howe together is mindblowing...
rabin is so out of context with the song. Howe is amazing
This is prog at it's best. The time changes are nuts. Trevor and the percussionist are crazy perfect. Steve Howe perfected Blue Grass into prog.
Yes fans were spoiled on this lineup and tour, peerless
Went to this concert in Buffalo 🌟
people may look at the fact at how good a person can play certain riffs but look at the fact that steve howe was in his early 20's when he wrote the music ....the musician ship in that day is un matched ....but rabin was great in his playing ..because the sounds and riffs blended together....there is nothing to argue about ...but there is plenty to enjoy...
Ha..😂 what a guitarist..seen Yes in Birmingham 93..
The electric guitar reached its pinnacle with Trevor.....WOW
I'm a consummate YES fan, and have been since about 1970 or so. I saw YES in the Union tour in the DC area, and enjoyed it quite a lot.
Yours is No Disgrace has a bit of "old and new" competition in the form of Howe/Bruford and Rabin/White, but it is just apples and oranges. Everything is good.
I love how the competing Yes and ABWH lineups unified here. Despite what the critics say, Union was a good CD overall and the tour was also really good.
'Nuff said.
Yes.
***** Fan since 80, saw Union at Patriot Center w/ 2 college buddies. One of my most favorite shows.
Ziggyzag Zi Union was an absolutely outstanding show to see. Anyone who argues otherwise is a dunderhead.
Chris Squire RIP (message from Bangkok 2021 during Covid pandemic)
So many good things about this. Chris is killing at usual. The way he mimics Jon's vocal timing in the last verse is almost comical. Everyone is clearly enjoying themselves. And Trevor and Howe shredding at the same time in the first couple minutes was incredible. As for the Trevor solo section that everyone can't stand, I've heard them do that on multiple songs such as Our Song, Heart of the Sunrise, and this. So it's not as if they were trying to change the song, and you can't really say they ruined the song either. It was more of an interlude that they did in different places different years.
Now now, Trevor did a good job. No complaints here.
To my buds in Tonawanda, NY:. Ricky, Danny and Jim. From Joey

Yes forever!! ❤
Saw the `91 tour twice. Twice was not nearly enough.
Alan White...damn!!
Saw this tour in Montreal
WOW!
I love the dual guitar lead at 1:13
I got chills oh my gosh... Instead of shredding Trevor actually played Steve's part...
