What a coincidence. I ordered the exact same bike 2 weeks ago. So your example has maybe arrived earlier. Thanks for the high quality content videos, keep up the work. We learn a lot!
I’m quite tempted by one of these instead of a gravel bike in the U.K. only 2 minutes riding for me until I get off road and then I’ve got miles of forest roads as well as singletrack and a trail centre to play with.
Had the same problem with my headset feeling loose, wasnt sure if it was ment to be on this bike because of the steering stop. Fixed it like you did and now everything feels good, thank you! Still not really assuring that Canyon doesnt seem to know how to properly tighten the headset on their own bike…
Thanks for the video. I have the same bike and also had the same problem with the steering head, but it was quickly solved. The wheels are made by DT Swiss and were true. It has basic components, the weight corresponds to the price, the brakes with ceramic pistons are a big advantage. If you want a 10kg bike you pay twice as much.
I have the exact same issue you had with the headset since I received the Canyon bike. Your instruction on another video on Canyon is priceless, and the first thing I'm going to do when I get home this evening is use your advice, hoping it'll solve the issue. Thanks a bunch!
Frameset fiber quality doesn't look good indeed. I'm thinking how bad are these Exceed framesets compared with the cheapest Procaliber or Scale carbon fiber framesets?
Im surpries that It almost weighs like my Full Aluminium XC bike also with the same groupset and a 4piston m6120 which is around 12.1kg. Maybe because this exceed has a Alloy cockpit and also m6100 cassette is really heavy.
not really they are beefing up carbon frames i dont know if they use cheaper carbon but cockpit is light it only looks heavy ... but yeah for this price to have 12kg it is shame :D but i guess those wheels are taking a lot
Well, have you checked the wheel tension? this may be the reason why it was untrue. The grease is essential, according to the chain manufactureres, the disc legally required. The headset is something you need to have in mind but it is not a problem, there is an assembly video online. The weight is "for M-sized frames excluding pedals", you never mentioned the bike size. It is also an estimated weight, since components, especially tires, have differences in weight due to manufacturing. Your only valid claims are: Disc dummy (could've slipped out while taking the bike out) Tire Bead (Tire usually aren't fully inflated when shipped, they can pop in once you assemble the bike) Carbon Lay-up The latter is the only critique I can not say anything about, as I do not know how important it is in this area on the inside. Your point could be valid. Everything else is not worth mentioning.
wheel tension cannot be same when wheel is untrue ... your anti claim is invalid ... you cannot just tension all spokes to same tension and pretend that wheel is true because it doesnt work like that ... for expensive carbon hardtail to be this heavy is kind of shame but they are making it on purpose so it is beefed up for more harsh terain and to save money from shitty carbon they are using ... ofc weight of tires can range

super video. very smart findings and clear explanation on how to fix them. thank you
Hey Danny
does your uncle have problems with the bike? like a loud creaking noise from the BB Area??
Frameset fiber quality doesn't look good indeed. I'm thinking how bad are these Exceed framesets compared with the cheapest Procaliber or Scale carbon fiber framesets?
Bravissimo, Danny 👏🏼
So good usefull tips 👍 thank you 😊
Did they release a new version of the canyon exceed or nah? Thanks!
Thanks for showing this. Man Canyon sucks for having a not so good carbon frame and shitty untrue wheels.
I enjoy your videos. 😊. The Manitou i bought that you rode is still running 2 1/2 years smoothly! Thanks!
So what's your verdict on the bike?
How much spacers does it come with?
Are those silent hubs?

Hello bro.. Can you please suggest me front and rear tyre for xc marathon
Spec. Fast Trak, I always roll on them.
Are those air fork?
Yes, the Rock Shox Recon is air-sprung.
Even the dork disc is oval when you spin the rear wheel 😂
Didn’t it come with a manual or guide…no harm in reading it first
Let more know every 👏🤞😃
I need the back 😢😢
thx
Removing the dork disc was sooooo satisfying…
And how satisfying will it be, when your chain gets stuck between the spokes and cassette!
@@fpeter01 If that happens means you suck at adjusting your rear mech 😉
12kg😔
11.8 without the pedals
First.
