This was shot in a much more interesting way than most dream bike builds on youtube. Additional points for the less monotonous music.
This felt like watching a tailor work on a bespoke suit, but on a mountain bike. Amazing worksmanship on the build and the video itself.

Had that experience a week ago as I had changed the drive train, breaks, laced a backwheel and all that jazz... somebody tell me why its so damn good for the soul to build your own bike.
Hey whizkidd the reason its good to build your own bike is simlpy bike shop mechanics are crap triust no one but yourself.

What you mean just putting a clear lacquer on top of the carbon. It's easy to do. Bike companies don't bother as there not a lot of point. Carbon is fine without and weights less which is usually why it's left raw carbon.

It’s a,ways funny to me how a premium bike like this is built out to precision parts lovingly put together and then whacked with a hammer if they are part of the fork.
Rich's Park Tool inventory must be devoid of torque drivers/wrenches.
Bit of a miss there to get even more product placement shots....
Torque wrenches are only necessary for the amateur and the manufacturer to push more tools TBH, a well experienced mechanic has a good feel and is unlikely to over torque Carbon. I used one all the time for a while but now not so necessary. Unless it’s Schmolke, then use a torque wrench, I do still use a torque wrench for my brake rotors and stem clamp though
we learned from Doddy that 2 compunds are needed for a pressfit assembly , but here in the build seemed to be using just one , Am i right ?
The primer is applied at 1.53 and left to cure, before the retaining compound later in the video 🔧

has anyone heard of Tektro TKD 143 Hydraulic disk brakes? I got them on my new Giant Talon 1 29er medium and I would like to know how they compare to tektros M275s or just other budget hydraulic brakes in general. I ask this because I have never seen or heard of the TKD 143 brakes.

Alright guys, how good are Canyon bikes? Are their frames pretty durable and well made? I'm looking at the hardtails semi-pro level. I'm more interested in Scott bikes but they don't seem to be in any rush to produce hardtails.

Anyone else bought a canyon bike and major issue's? Eg: paint chipped down to base coat..paying $30 for extra for shipping protection. 3rd ride and my bike started making the dreaded creak sound. Turns out when i took the pivots apart the piviot mounts had alu filings and thread was ucked. Canyon gave me credit to fix paint chip then 6weeks later they sent me threatining emails saying i owed them money. Not having a go at gmbn.
I don't think I'll ever buy a canyon because of the other 1% of cases where issues like this happen.

Of course. Canyon is ridden by top pros in all cycling disciplines.
Are they better than other top brands? No, but they're just as good and often considerably cheaper. I have a previous model exceed and love it. Recently took ownership of a cannondale scalpel, full sus xc bike.
