Rick Parfitt’s rhythm playing is so good. Any guitarists watching this, try playing his rhythm downstrokes and singing at the same time. He makes it look easy. You can tell they are a band who have done the time and played countless gigs. Brilliant
Good for the Quo !!, this really is the best version ever of this song , brilliant sound, great singing by Rick and performed by people enjoying themselves
I know some don't Rate StatusQuo cover albums very much but I think they do sometimes excellent versions of rock classics.... And this live version is one of them. You don't want it to stop ! More solos, please Mr Rossi !!
Those of us in our 60's,,,this is OUR music!!! You young punks can have all of the bands today that all sound alike and have to have a gimmick to tell them apart. Quo is pure Rock and Roll.
These guys really rock! Until last week I had never heard of them and found them on here by mistake. ELO does a really good cover of this song, but no better than these guys. Some of the concerts I have seen on here, show the place packed. Thanks to all who have posted their music!
YOU'RE SO RIGHT 953, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. THESE GUYS REALLY ROCK!!! THEY ARE SO TALENTED WITH THEIR GUITAR PLAYING & THEIR SINGING. I JUST LOVE THEM!!! ROCK ON GUYS ❤️ LOVE KATHY FROM MASSACHUSETTS.
this version by status quo was awesome...very high energy..has the energy that the song originally was supposed to have..these guys sure know how to rock..everything is in perfect harmony.. the guitar work is superb...oh well guess i better start practicing more guitar...after hearing this exceptional band..
@@edmourgagnon1504 - me2 - i was the first from our school to listen to ELO early 70is cause i listend to US army channel Germany on the radio every day…..Cheers from CH.
i think beethoven would be proud that people still listen tto his music and that chuck berry wrote a song about him and status quo is keeping the rock and roll going
been seeing the quo since 1970 and have seen them every year since even got my other half to luv them you know luv me luv the quo keep on rocking lads you are the best
Just imagine summer 1965 at Butlins Minehead. Rick walks in as the spectres rehearse the likes of Rock n Roll Music and the rest is history. Who would agree that the encore is pure 1965! The look on the face of Francis is priceless as he opens up with that classic Chuck Berry intro its like hold tight here we go!
40+ years doing what they love with no regrets, and the punters can see that. Who needs deep and meaningful when you can just have FUN!!! What a life!!! The QUO Rules.
I still think these guys have such obvious energy and enjoyment at what they do, that at age 57, when I feel down, I crank up these dudes and get energized for the day. It is still a mystery to me as to why these musicians didn't at the very least, outsell, now what was their name? Oh yeah! I think it was the aptly named "Monkees!" Circus Boy, Davey Jones, and oh yes, I think one guy could actually play the guitar. What a waste of talent! We in the US have missed out!
Gunwife, they are the absolute best band live. The atmosphere they create has to be seen to be believed. They're all getting on a bit now (about my age) but they can't half get a crowd going still. You've got a lot of good bands over in the US bui these guys are really something !! Long live the "special relationship" and God bless the good old US of A. !!!!! Cheers....
status quo - trupa mea favorita din toate timpurile ! din nefericire ( si pe nedrept ) sint prea putin cunoscuti si apreciati in Romania ( si nu numai ! )
@5CX1500 I grew up in Oklahoma and I heard the Quo on the radio. I don't remember if it was WLS out of Chicago or WKY in Oklahoma City but I heard them. I bought their records at Wilcox Records on 23rd Street in Oklahoma City and Starship Records in Tulsa.Maybe even at Gibson's in Ponca City. For whatever reason there were many people that didn't know of them so chalk it up to thier promotion people and the DJs that didn't play their music.
i cant believe this song is 55 years old and to me it is probably one of the best rock and roll tunes ever besides chuck berry it was covered by the likes of the beatles. electric light orchestra and of course the quo proving rock and roll will never die
Quo covers rock like no other group. Next to always better then the original. Picking up an old Chuck tune and bringing it to live in a way even Chuck failed. Dont get me wrong, I like Berry, but this is intence. The energy is insane. In short, this is what RnR is all about.
Rock and Roll we always said was here to stay. Such a delightful tool the PC is, to bring me these gems. When people share with me, I find those that should be out there on the top like this band. Think about all these greats and the greats that crossed/over joinging together in ONE HUMONGOUS Band, when we begin evolving and experiencing our lives again with no negativity. Peace and Love to you all. :-)
Excuse me I am not making this up and I have been a Quo fan for the last 23 years. Allright I didnt see them in the 70s heyday but I can confirm that I was there at this show, It was playback and they did a live set afterwards. Later that year (2000) I went to germany and saw them do this live much better.
got this hooked up to a SIX SPEAKER SONY HOME THEATRE SOUND SYSTEM and played at 9 it is what hard rockin rollers is all about. thank you VERY MUCH GUITARMAN 9202.......
Rick plays this big hit by Chuck Berry as one of the best! this man is Rock and Roll .. !! And also one of the best rhythm guitarists in the world .. !! r.i.p my dear friend you will never forgotten .. !!
Absolutely fabulous, playing amazing music for more than 5 decades, should be in the hall of fame.
Great version.
Hall of fame is just a sham..Quo, Saxon , Lizzy and Motorhead not in it either.
Definitely should be there
most people in america have never heard of them
100% pure BS they and a few other true rock legends are not. ie The Guess Who. 🇬🇧🇨🇦
72 years old. seen them twice in their early days, never to be forgotten, still can't hear!
saw them 14 times , melbourne , sydney , brisbane , geelong
Rick Parfitt’s rhythm playing is so good. Any guitarists watching this, try playing his rhythm downstrokes and singing at the same time. He makes it look easy. You can tell they are a band who have done the time and played countless gigs. Brilliant
That's what people aren't getting....Rick does virtually nothing except downstrokes.... incredible!!!!
Yes it is difficult.
And to sing wasn't possible for me.
Need to practice.
RIP Rick.
Salute.
Probably one of the best. if not the best, British Rock n' Roll bands.
yes if quo just hit the scene now they would hit number 1 on every hit beleav me
Dire straits?
The greatest rhythm guitarist ever RIP Rick
Queen slade sweet dire straights elo where all masters of they're craft
Status Quo simply the best rock band ever, followed them since the late sixties.( I was born in 1959).RIP the members that we have lost.
A song by Chuck Berry, which suited Rick's beautiful rock voice so well. RIP Rick. Fan of Quo, since i was 13 (I'm 56 today!)
And I am 65 now - Status Quo was my teenage music - how cool is that!! Cheers from CH.
R.I.H = ROCK IN HEAVEN DEAR RICK🎸
I love Rick singing this just fantastic!!
nobody makes music like this any more. Thank God for the great rockers of that era! Pure gold.
Wow these boys rock! I have watched several of their videos now, and what I really like is that they always seem to be having lots of fun.
One hell of a band.Keep on rockin boys.Rick you are sorely missed
Good for the Quo !!, this really is the best version ever of this song , brilliant sound, great singing by Rick and performed by people enjoying themselves
It doesn't get much better than that.
Still watching this in 2024 !!! Long live Quo !
Legends.I grew up listening to them and am still listening to them after all these decades.R.I.P. Rick
I know some don't Rate StatusQuo cover albums very much but I think they do sometimes excellent versions of rock classics.... And this live version is one of them. You don't want it to stop ! More solos, please Mr Rossi !!
They do ! Great driving rhythm, rock&roll voice, solo and band work. My favourite rock band since I was young. Still love it, until these days 👍!
They are brilliant

I still have their early album rocking my pioneers. Like 50 years and they still. Great
Those of us in our 60's,,,this is OUR music!!! You young punks can have all of the bands today that all sound alike and have to have a gimmick to tell them apart. Quo is pure Rock and Roll.
Status Quo is for all ages in my opinion! :)

This is called talent. Rick had the voice and all the rest.
Probably the best cover of this venerable rock&roll song ever made!!!!!!
The band is tight as hell, grew up with them.
Unstoppable honest rock and roll!
They're just so damn good. I just can not stop listening to them.
Rick’s vocal is outstanding, really strong. He is sadly missed. Jeff Rich was a great drummer, probably the best the band ever had.
Just class all around , like they say , never be another
I think the same of you....!
Don’t forget the great. John. Coghlan. The original and the best
this version by status quo was awesome...very high energy..has the energy that the song originally was supposed to have..these guys sure know how to rock..everything is in perfect harmony.. the guitar work is superb...oh well guess i better start practicing more guitar...after hearing this exceptional band..
Gave me the shivers as when i first heard it from ELO back in the 70's...
@@edmourgagnon1504 - me2 - i was the first from our school to listen to ELO early 70is cause i listend to US army channel Germany on the radio every day…..Cheers from CH.

Anna
It's a great cover Status Quo will never die!!!
Yes! My favorite! Pure rock'n'roll!
I was this concert.....unforgettable!!!!
Super bon ce groupe 🤩 j'adore 😉 quel rock waouh quelle interprétation, encore encore 😱🔥😉😀
These guys are terrific and they are keeping the "status Quo"...
Along with the Beatles, the Quo does this song better than any group of musicians ever. They had talent and a lot of enthusiasm !!!
Rhythm song with one of the best rhythm guitarists ever, was inevitable
George Harrison loved this track, Beatles truely ROCKED IN HAMBURG AND THE CAVERN doing this.🇬🇧
This is a great rendition, but to me ELO's cover is the best ever.
RIP one of the best rythm guitarists in the world, Rick Parfitt. How many legends are gonna go before this year is over..
He WAS the best....
THE best.
too damned many! R.I.P. Rick you were the best!!
Don't forget Malcolm Young. Wish I could be up there to hear those guys jam.

Awesome performance...R.I.P. Rick...you were a machine
30 years and they still rock my socks off =]
Wow, love this version. This and ELO have to be the best. Long may they rock!
Great singing here. Just cuts through everything - pretty effortless too. Solid as Rock.
Best rock song ever.. Thank you Quo, and thank you Rick wherever you are bud..
OMG.....this is real music and talented guys.....❤
I'm Happy I can Watch this Old Song with One of the groups we had any time before - I'm thankful
I love and like Status Que .... I have seen them 11 times live. They are excellent...
Adoro ouvir música maravilhosa os meus parabéns pela excelente música maravilhosa com alma
Nobody plays it like Quo. It's the incessant single-note on the bass and Mr Parfitt's chord hammer-ons that define the Quo sound. Wonderful!
Just imagine summer 1965 at Butlins Minehead. Rick walks in as the spectres rehearse the likes of Rock n Roll Music and the rest is history. Who would agree that the encore is pure 1965! i saw them in worcester last yr....one day after my bday and they were awsum, loads of energy and they are true masters!
Fantastic Band! One's that keep your heart beating!!! Salud!
If your ever feeling down in the dumps then watch and listen to this.
A great version Fantastic.
This is the best version. Chuck would be delighted.
They should be in the hall of fame. There are some who should not be in. D toll hall of fame is a joke. Real music is dead. 2:41
Brilliant, it's not possible to sit still with this great rock n roll thanks chuck and quo 😊

Excellent la reprise de " roll over Beethoven" de Chuck Berry... eternel ce moment...😊. Thanks 👍🤩.
Yeah, Chuck Berry wrote it. And E.L.O. did it to, BUT this is a rockin version and I think one of the best covers of this song ever done!!!
The Beatles also did it to
And Matthew lee did it too
And yes pal it’s 14 years ago

They can all try it but no band will ever compete with Quo and Rick loving every second of it👊🏻😍
