Nolly is by far the most talented person ever - plays bass like a beast, guitars like a beast and mixes like a beast. It's ridiculous how much talent can fit into one man
@@demodeiowa how do you know? Talent is a real thing. You may have the will to do it but when you dont have the talent life can be hard. Sure without it you might learn a 4/4 song on a guitar but when music becomes more complex that "will" or "dedication" wont help you.
Oh yes!!!!! I remember years ago when everyone was fumbling about trying to get their POD or Lepou sims even working Nolly would upload these killer pro sounding clips. The man has a very good ear and its great he worked on a product like this.
I return here every couple months to watch that bend at 1:57 at least 5 times in a row. Then I return to my life, inspired by the fact that Nolly exists.
Harrysound I can't wait til I can buy a PRS Core line. I'm a drummer but I've been practicing guitar a lot and have told myself that someday in maybe 4 or 5 years I will be good enough to justify buying a pro-level instrument when I can actually consider myself a guitarist and not just a dude who dabbles. My current guitar is a Jericho Avenger SM which is a Korean-made PRS ripoff
Jacob Smith well if you manage to stick at it but still retain your drumming skills you will be all powerful. It’s like playing darts though, the more to play and challenge yourself the more you’ll learn. I wish I had learned to play drums. Maybe not enough to call myself a drummer but enough to be able to get what I wanted and edit the midi for timing issues....but then in my day it was actual drums or nothing, these days you can do and have everything. Makes me have even more respect for oldies like mike oldfield who were basically the original bedroom musicians
I've tried just about every modern guitar plugin and gave the Archetype Nolly a try yesterday. Within an hour I had to buy it. The fastest I've ever bought a plugin after seeing a few videos and playing with it for a short period. The presets alone are worth it. This is by far the happiest I've been with a guitar plugin. It does exactly what I want from any piece of gear, playing through it gave me inspiration I haven't had in some time. Right away the first few presets made me revisit songs I had been working on but got stuck at a point that I got frustrated and couldn't touch them anymore. TLDR; Best money I've spent on a guitar plugin. Worth every dollar.
Between Nolly's outrageous playing and ear for production, he's one of the most well rounded and talented musicians I've come across. Hope to hear a lot more from him.
@@chhau123 wait are u saying there's no reason to buy 2k$ (or whatever the price is) axefx if you already have some plugins? I just think about this question lately...

holy crap that is SUCH a wicked MIX! AMAZING Playing! You just inspired me with the way you layered the CLEAN with all that headroom then went all heavy AF on top of it!
There's a couple. @1:02, it appears to be a CU22 Private Stock (pickups could be anything). I'm going to say it's likely an early to mid 2000's for a couple of reasons: 1) It's phase 2 locking tuners (see the closed back) and 2) 3 way toggle position likely replaced the rotary selector knob. So, i'd say that one is a 2004 -2008 Custom 22 Private Stock. And, @1:53, it's a Custom 24. This is a bit more tricky. Due to the pickup selector layout, it's above, say, 2013/2014, but, if that's the case the pickups aren't stock as they have rounded bobbins.
@@rnodern First one is PRS Modern Eagle with Bare Knuckle True Grit Pickups, second guitar is a Custom 24 with PRS Dragon Pickups :) - he said it in the mix breakdown video.

You would need so much to replicate periphery's tones but I think this Is a good way to get in the ballpark without spending tens of thousands of dollars.
The opening reminds me of the beginning of some of Deftones' songs, how it starts off soft and dreamy, major and minor melding together before swelling into the main riff.
