Was an early VIP for the MACO, but in the end went with the Clayton Shaw CALADAN. I could not see 2x's for the MACO.
Caladan were good as well. 👍🏼👍🏼

Maco vs Caladan comments?
Different animals and goals. The Maco are far superior in sound quality and realism. The caladan are awesome for the money and the bass was surprising.
The Maco were the only baffles at Axpona that got me close to our ABX/LDA baffles. All the rest were kinda appreciated, but didn’t make me consider moving on from them. But the maco also didn’t do the bass that our ABX/LDA baffles do, but the vocal and instrument realism was a notch up… Both amazing. The Caldan was just a decent baffle for the money. 👍🏼
@@abxaudiophiles I would have expected the opposite given the maco is using a huge fullrange to try make some highs. Hopefully somebody will make an in depth comparison.
@@abxaudiophiles You got a cool project going on there! Perhaps try the Lil 8" to get that lively/vocal magic from fullranges? It should also get way better than the 15" maco is using into the highs... But then I really just described one of the pure audio project :)
@@PaoloCaminiti All great options, the baffles space is super fun and very intriguing. Haven’t heard a PAP that I’ve preferred our baffles from an overall standpoint. Yea those li full range do vocals so dang well but really need to be isolated from doing full range as they fall apart pretty quickly when pushed. But man are they spooky good on vocal and acoustical stuff. I’d say from a 30hz to 20Khz and an overall not genre limited open baffle, I’ve yet to hear one that performs better than our DIY. Even to this day…. Outside of DIY space, I think for me the Caladan are the bang for buck winner of 2024. Tough tho as if you order you can expect a six month back log I believe. 😉.
