I saw the review of the Lyngdorf Model B which has 6 x 12 inch open baffle drivers per speaker (three normal orientation, three in reverse to reduce distortion) and I thought that should be possible for DIYers as well. E.g. with six SB Audience BIANCO-12OB150.

      @abxaudiophiles  2 месяца назад +2

      @@riccitone Yea. Most people think the baffle is super critical. It’s not. The drivers and crossover components are about 90% of the goal as the drivers would be fantastic in 4’ baffle or no baffle at all. Jump in the discord to have a real time conversation with all of us about how we’re building baffles, but everyone will be doing something slightly different based on personal taste. Mine will probably end up being about 30” tall and 12” wide. And yes beveling all 90 degree corners is key and the thicker your go the more important that wave guide is on the front face of the baffle.

    Ok, I’m intrigued. I’m building my first set of speakers and I also picked up some Paradigm Titan v3 speakers the other day. Hard to say if they’re better than my DCM Time Windows…but I haven’t plugged them back in. 😁
    So let’s say I wanted to make these speakers to really blow my hair back. Where would I find the plans? Also, you mentioned in another video that you can make these and use Dayton speakers to see if you like the style. Which ones? I love clear, transparent sound with tight, quick bass, so I’m pretty sure I’d love these. My living room might get a little tight, but I can work with that. Also, would there be any value in bi-amping these? Not sure what the efficiency is on these, but I’m fairly certain it will take a little something to drive them. Anyway, thanks…I’ve already got the wood for these. Reclaimed old-growth redwood…it would look amazing.

    If a 2 way 10 inch open baffle can sound that bassy it is pretty remarkable. However I suspect it is a 3 way with 10 inch COAX (open at back of tweeter) and an 18 inch LF / Woofer.
    Either way sounds amazing. Are these drivers available in Europe / UK too?
