Also had Civics and a Honda Wagon using studded snow tires in Vermont but now in altitude of New Mexico. A little concerned about ground clearance as well. as it seems to be 2 inches less than an Outback which may be a problem. We do not always plow or shovel our road in every snowstorm and it can have quite a bit of snow that we plow our Outback through just barely...
I really like this XLE grade. You can get the saddle leather on the cheaper trim! Too bad it’s 8k more than a Camry XLE AWD! The color choices also suck. I’d like to see heavy metal, predawn gray, magnetic gray and especially blueprint on this! It would look stunning! The storm cloud just looks so unfinished!
These are gonna sell way more than their little Sedan thingie counterparts. I would love one but used cuz i know about Toyota pricing these days and Kirk i promise you that these crowns here in North America are toned down compared with the jdm ones. You can tell with something as simple as the logo on the steering wheel. In Japan there's an actual crown 👑 there. The one i had had soft close doors and you could control the radio and HVAC from the back. Mine had a cooler in the rear seat storage box between the seats. Electronic sun shades. there were controls on the top of the front passenger seat so that the driver (or rear passenger) could easily slide the seat forward. It's very obvious Toyota doesn't want to step on Lexus toes with these and in Japan they embraced the toes. Still really like these though.
Just a slightly longer version of the Venza, but with a more "horse-powered" identical 2.5L engine. Wagon, hatch back, SUV (more ground clearance) are just different names to get your $!
The myth that automobiles need to be "totally redigned" "refreshed" (Tesla) "upgraded" "renewed" etc. every other year is just that, a myth. Nice video though.
I love the looks and concept of this vehicle. I was surprised to hear that, behind the 2nd row seats, the RX has a bit more space, though this Signia has more cargo space with the 2nd row folded flat. I'll buy this when they offer the Hybrid Max powertrain, head-up display, 4-way lumbar, passenger seat height adjustment, and some other features. The thing I want the most are the first two. How could they omit the head-up display? Maybe in a future Platinum trim...?
@@LoneWolfSparty Yeah, you may be right. I love this wagon configuration (owned three wagons through the years) but the omission of a head-up display is a deal-breaker. Unless there is a moving map on the instrument cluster (MID, whatever it's called) like Audi.

I test drove one - it was great! Then I did my research .... Just an oil change was $$$$. You can ONLY get the 0W-8 oil from Toyota dealer. Even the parts guy thought it was crazy as oil & filter came in at just under $200.
It looks pretty good but why is the starting price like 3k more than the current 4Runner. I just don’t understand how they’re coming up with pricing lately…It’s a hybrid and AWD but still
Did the HVAC start working good? I'm in South Florida and good HVAC is CRUCIAL for me. My GF has a 23 Mazda CX-9, and while it is a great vehicle, I find the HVAC system to be a tad weak. How do you like this Crown Signa XLE vs a 25 Camry XLE? I'm between these two.
Toyota / Lexus ventilated seats are not very good. I remember the CX9 having a weak AC too. All Toyota hybrids seem to have great AC. Test it out first of course.
I live in Las Vegas and have a 2023 Crown Limited. The AC works great. You can't expect the interior of the vehicle to cool down immediately after it has been sitting in the heat. I also have my windows tinted.
If I were buying (and I may) I would buy the XLE. I don’t care for the panoramic roof, especially since it doesn’t open. The rims are more to my taste in the XLE also. The JBL sound system would be nice but not $4,000 nice.
I have the new RX350 luxury trim, which I like, and I have the very same problem of this Toyota with the AC. In sunny days with outdoor temperature of 80 to 85 the AC failes to cool the cabin. When it is 90 degrees or more, I must put the AC on near max airflow and it is still warm inside. I like the new RX, but it's engine and AC are huge disappointments.
This is a beautiful car. I do have the Venza which I love but it does lacks what RX has. This crown I would love to have but the price is high. I think I have to wait a few years to pay off my 3 other cars first before I can get this one
yeah the Venza is in a strange position, it was too small and the Lexus NX hybrids doesn't cost that much. We don't need the room anymore so my wife bought the Venza for only a few $K more. For those who wants/needs more space will go Highlander Hybrid or GHH.......and now this Venza S.
I don't like paying extra for things I don't want -- like 21" wheels or pano sunroof that you can't open on the Limited... if only the XLE had 360 camera and digital rear view mirror!
So in the XLE, no drivers seat presets, no rear heated seats, no front cooled seats, no JBL sound, no surround view. Does the XLE have rain-sensing wipers - or just intermittent? The Limited sounds like a better deal on everything *except* the 21" wheels....
Looked at one yesterday. Yes, the XLE does have driver memory, rear heated seats, heated and cooled front seats. Yes, no JBL, rain sensing or surround. For me, I'd like the paddle shifter only for safety in our snowy environment.. When coming to yellow light, you downshift (software) and lightly brake to prevent you and the ABS from pushing you though. The XLE has folding mirrors as well. Also like the wireless Android or Carplay so you use as Navigation without hooking anything up.
You technically do get that if you reset it going downhill with the engine off lol Maybe we'll get that average mpg with a few more generations of Toyota hybrids lol
To me a wagon is identical body as a sedan with an SUV-like hatchback trunk, 1997 Honda Accord wagon or 1991 Honda Civic wagon for example. So, this Crown Signia should be in the SUV category since it's taller and has a bit more ground clearance than the Crown sedan.

We do not always plow or shovel our road in every snowstorm and it can have quite a bit of snow that we plow our Outback through just barely...
This should be a a hot seller looks amazing
I really like this XLE grade. You can get the saddle leather on the cheaper trim! Too bad it’s 8k more than a Camry XLE AWD! The color choices also suck. I’d like to see heavy metal, predawn gray, magnetic gray and especially blueprint on this! It would look stunning! The storm cloud just looks so unfinished!
The 2025 Crown XLE eliminates the fabric seats and will be leather (with a price increase).
I would get a different color combo, but yeah - it looks grrrrrreaat!
Damn looks appealing.
I suspect that this model is an experiment to see how well it sells; if it sells well, they might offer more options/trim levels.
@@LoneWolfSparty Yeah, you may be right. I love this wagon configuration (owned three wagons through the years) but the omission of a head-up display is a deal-breaker. Unless there is a moving map on the instrument cluster (MID, whatever it's called) like Audi.
@@jsfbay1 if this sells well, it might be like the Crown and have it available in the tech package in a year; one could hope
@@LoneWolfSparty I'll be hoping A LOT, lol 🙂 because of my love of wagons.
Kirk.. would you pick a completely loaded 25 Camry XLE for 38k over this Crown XLE for 45k?
In a heartbeat the Camry
Completely loaded camry XLE IS NOT $38K. that price is Without the PREMIUM PLUS. package. Which raises the cost to $42k.
I'm really going to have to choose between both vehicles. Test drive will decide. But you Really can't beat the longterm benefits utility of a hatchback
Don't forget towing 2700lbs in the crown Signia which Camry can't.
You are right but I was building the xle with the premium package because I didn’t want the driver monitor feature..38k before tax
A comparable replacement for the VENZA, for the 2009-2016 model year. The out-going VENZA 2024...I say--Good riddance! The V6's VENZA is/was the BEST! Your car review is so practical for the average consumer. Thank you for your RELENTLESS PURSUIT of INTEGRITY!
1:15 Big Smiley Face!
This over the NX or RX. I have a 2011 Venza and maybe one day ill upgrade to this. love wagons
I headed out this morning to compare this vs NX 350h, and never get a chance to go to Lexus The inside has kind of old school charm hard to find in modern day shiny plastic and glass cars design ... Or may be it's just me being old
I’m just glad they didn’t turn the Avalon into a wagon. 😂 I see the new Camry as more of a replacement for the Avalon.
I love the front except they adopted the Lexus thing where the grill looks like someone oversprayed it while painting the car.
Yeah, the Camry XSE has a similar over painting... Still this signia looks better than RX!
@@KirkKreifels I agree
I wish I could get a wagon. All I want is a wagon with 6.7 inches of ground clearance.
My next car for sure! Love it! Thanks for the impressions, Kirk!
Though I think the NX looks better, agree with what u said, value wise, this is great!
Except the transmission vibration that I experienced during the test drive recently.
@@dienduong5445 Yea, avoid first year models. lol!
@@kosanmr2 Yes , it looks like it.
I test drove one - it was great! Then I did my research ....
Just an oil change was $$$$. You can ONLY get the 0W-8 oil from Toyota dealer. Even the parts guy thought it was crazy as oil & filter came in at just under $200.
OMG 😨😳 WoW?!!
You can get 0w-8 oil at some stores. Bi-Marts in my area carry mobil in that weight. But 0w-16 is everywhere and can be substituted in a pinch
@@garman7921 where I live, no big box, or auto supply places have it. I checked Amazon and they didn't even have it!
Where do you live? 0W-8 can be found in local auto stores.
Walmart got it
Is there a hybrid awd hatchback out there. I wish the crown sedan was a hatchback then it would be perfect.
Great video!
It looks pretty good but why is the starting price like 3k more than the current 4Runner. I just don’t understand how they’re coming up with pricing lately…It’s a hybrid and AWD but still
I love this wagon
Did the HVAC start working good? I'm in South Florida and good HVAC is CRUCIAL for me. My GF has a 23 Mazda CX-9, and while it is a great vehicle, I find the HVAC system to be a tad weak. How do you like this Crown Signa XLE vs a 25 Camry XLE? I'm between these two.
Another review did state that the ventilated seats could've been stronger.
Toyota / Lexus ventilated seats are not very good. I remember the CX9 having a weak AC too. All Toyota hybrids seem to have great AC. Test it out first of course.
Also the Camry is a far better buy than the Signa unless you need all the extra space and higher entry point.
I agree with weak AC in cx9
I live in Las Vegas and have a 2023 Crown Limited. The AC works great. You can't expect the interior of the vehicle to cool down immediately after it has been sitting in the heat. I also have my windows tinted.
Love it..we should be got a hybrid wagon 15 yrs ago
Only thing I don’t care for are the rims on this XLE. They look alright on the Crown sedan but not so much on this. To me they look like hubcaps.
OK Toyota now give us the Century SUV in North America please!
Looks great. Wish the XLE had the 360 camera though.
Why can't we see these cars in Europe? This car would sell solid here in Sweden and other countries, hybrid family cars attract attention...
It would make too much sense
It would have been nice to hear how quiet the ride was, but he never shut up LOL
Yay, no rear bumper. Just a slight bump and you'll have to replace the whole rear hatch.
Damn I forgot about that issue
Much better than the sedan
This is a beautiful car. I do have the Venza which I love but it does lacks what RX has. This crown I would love to have but the price is high. I think I have to wait a few years to pay off my 3 other cars first before I can get this one
Would like to see a heads up display
Hello Kirk, when is the Toyota Crown Sport coming to America?
Hi Kyle, do you expect a refresh of NX next year?
it´s not bad
Kirk how is the leg room vs Highlander and RAV4.
I have a 23 Venza Limited. The features are much better. The Signia clearly has more space which is the Venza’s biggest shortcoming.
yeah the Venza is in a strange position, it was too small and the Lexus NX hybrids doesn't cost that much. We don't need the room anymore so my wife bought the Venza for only a few $K more. For those who wants/needs more space will go Highlander Hybrid or GHH.......and now this Venza S.
two things to fix on this one - put roofrails and hide the rear whipper and also Toyota - make next gen Sienna Crwon style too.
The “rear whipper”, indeed! 😂You’re a funny fellow. Thank you for that!
I don't like paying extra for things I don't want -- like 21" wheels or pano sunroof that you can't open on the Limited... if only the XLE had 360 camera and digital rear view mirror!
I do think it has the digital rear mirror .
I love that this is made in Japan.
This would be great a value used
Is this the 4th gen hybrid system, or the new 5th generation that's in the 2025 Camry?
Toyota's mpg calculator is so funny...starts out by saying 200mpg hahaha. Wouldn't that be awesome though!
You technically do get that if you reset it going downhill with the engine off lol
Maybe we'll get that average mpg with a few more generations of Toyota hybrids lol
They should make XSE with 2" lowered.
So, what exactly differentiate a lifted wagon from the suv? And why this model is a wagon?
Low roof, long body
To me a wagon is identical body as a sedan with an SUV-like hatchback trunk, 1997 Honda Accord wagon or 1991 Honda Civic wagon for example. So, this Crown Signia should be in the SUV category since it's taller and has a bit more ground clearance than the Crown sedan.
@@matrix-fh9tn exactly my thoughts.
