Today I go over all the best new features shown in the latest gameplay reveal for the upcoming war of the worlds pc game!

This game is based upon the 2005 Stephen Spielberg movie The War of the Worlds, Starring Tom Cruise. This film is based upon the Novel by H.G Wells and I have to say this is probably the best we're ever going to get in terms of a game adaption of the film. Today we take a look at the early gameplay footage.

I hope to see the environment (fields, trees, grass, Bushes etc.) gets another update since it (to me) looks very basic. But every else is fantastic.
Do you have to put in consideration that they haven't done everything. I definitely see a graphics update coming before it comes out.

There's always new improvements graphically so hopefully we'll see more vegetation and stuff
well there is only one dev working on the game put they will probably update it
the fact that some of the spawned abandoned cars have their Engine Hood open, representing how humans have tried to repair the cars is a really cool detail in my sight
I really want to see a call feature or scream button we press to draw attention to ourselves so we can then interact with the tripods by choice and hide from them or fight them

You know a good addition to military is later in the survival mode or story mode the military has a chance of winning a fight against the tripods
I mean it wouldn't make sense in the early days but towards the end of the game the invaders will get sick and the military can start taking them down

or an option to kamikaze them. Ogilvy hinted at it in the film as he said the japanese had figured it out and then to cruise did what the japanese most likely did just without sacrificing himself.
I think they should have the tripods release the black smoke. I get that it’s not in the film but it would be really cool to have references from the book too.
btw f u didn't hear they made new sounds for the tripod also they can kill u in cars and I think u can escape a grounds keeping tripod like if u had any weapons u can shoot the bars until ur free. like in the movie except it was a gernade

The grass and trees look very dead. Some wind sway would really make the scenes come to life. Also the town environment looks too pristine, After the storms, earthquakes, looting, explosions, etc there should be debris scattered about.

I hope there will be an Endless Mode where the aliens never get defeated to diseases like in the movie. They will continue wreaking havoc on the map but you will be the one who'll get sick,weaker and weaker as days and days are passing by
actually i disagree with the red-weed, If you've saw that one picture of the guy's lung blood clot, that's how i'd imagine the red weed to be Thick meaty and importantly Spreading through root's All across, Here it's doing none of that Though i'd presume the area's in which it would be under the influence would have that ""Root Texture" making it a little bit more easy to implement I Do think that it need's to be a small bit redder More meaty and importantly Vein like how it was in the move
I do understand where you're coming from however it's a very tricky thing to program as I've spoken with the developer when he was figuring it out still. There's a good chance it could be worked on more but as far as the "redness" of it I think that's mainly due to how dark it was, I've seen other early footage where it looks a lot redder and it's a lot brighter
I too have the same opinion, however I understood that's it's still underdevelopment and is still in progress, as well as the environment,so for now bare with it

Welcome to this video's essay! Might be shorter! Anyway, question, what would the probe do when it spots you?
If it's a harvester tripod, would it send in one of it's tentacles to just check it out or would the tripod just completely trample the building? Maybe it will just wait around there at that building for quite a bit of time, who knows, but I think it would just trample the building, also, I saw that there were also humvee's, and in a clip in an older video, it showed that you could ride in tanks, would you be able to ride in humvee's too? And maybe on the map, there could be a military airbase that has been abandoned, so maybe you could hijack one plane.
😆Probably not, but it would be cool, also, the red weed looks AWESOME, and same for all the other features. Also, will there be NPC's stuck in the cages? I think that would of course be added, and also, I saw in one video where a tree didn't really stop the tripod from seeing the player, so I'm thinking that trees will be used as cover when a tripod is passing by, also, in the map, could there be bushes? I know, there is grass, but bushes could also be cool, some dense, some not, I think you could hide in them in order to hide yourself from the tripods, anyway, that's all, this was only like 1 paragraph or so, so I hope some of these things will make it into the game, I say that every time, but yea, btw, noice video.
From what I understand at the moment if a probe spots you it just continues to do it's search and once it leaves the tripod would then react accordingly, so harvesters may trample the house to get to you, and heatrays may just zap the entire building to kill you, but again not 100% sure on that one.
I presume you will be able to ride in humvees eventually too, I don't see why you could be able to ride in a tank but not a humvee.
Abandoned military airbases would be sick!
I think that the pod detection has been worked on a bit so they don't just spot you in trees as much, I've seen a lot of recent gameplay and the dev uses trees to hide a lot, the only reason he gets caught is because his curiosity gets the better of him and he has to peak out and look lol.
Bushes would be a good addition just so it isn't just trees you see everywhere, whether you could hide in them is another story though
I saw Raf answer about what the probe would do if it slotted you and he said a tentacle would come into the house and grab you
can the probes be damaged? also it would be nice to create decoy with bombs the probe can grab and bring up and then blow up inside the tripod destroying it
Not a clue would be good if you could destroy the probe. I do believe it will be possible though

How about an invisibility mode as a reward 4 surviving a certain amount of time before either getting blasted or harvested? That’d be a cool incentive. And maybe a mobile friendly version of the game 4 people who don’t have laptops 😉

man! seriously you were able to upload 2 videos in a row, the new content looks great!, only that I would like is that although the military are constantly looking for tripods, there are not so many everywhere, because if not, it will feel too repetitive, it would be great if the military concentrates more on a tripod that has already been spoted, to represent the fact that they are calling for backup, and so it doesn't feel like every tripod you see has military activity around
I don't think you'll see military around every single tripod, especially as the days go by as the further into the invasion you get there will be less and less military to stop the tripods as they will all be getting obliterated
@@Uberkit That is undoubtedly great, it will give you a greater sense of insecurity and it's going to make the game much scarier
any one can answer . If you were given the opportunity to drive any tripod which one would you choose and why. Personally I'd put the Uber pod. It has both the tentacles and the heat ray. So yeah a bit of a longer comment than usual.

I love The idea of 6 or 8 soldiers and 3 vehicle attacking some one tripod
But What more epic Is that this event can only happen rarely, You can encounter a whole Army of soldiers
Many military vehicles fighting 4 tripods Like I said it can only happen rarely also Everytime you the player encounter a battle like I said there's a chance you can see some jets and helis flying around and mostly people running away from the battlefield That would be a epic feature

This is very nice looking. Have you considered in tightening the story overall? Both in the book and the 2005 film the main character has a brother. in 2005 we followed one story arc of the book involving the main character played by tom cruise. We havent seen the other story from his brothers point of view. This in the book is the chapters involving the thunderchild scenes. it would also allow for more interactions with the NPCs.
As for the birds following the tripods they are following the scent of dead meat from the humans they trap and consume and the decay of teh pilots starting in.

Who made the tripod
It would be interesting to add a small possibility to somehow capture one of the tripods and use it against other tripods. For example, capture their tripod while the aliens are outside for search of people
@@Mr-Ducc The tripods do have pilots, the movie showed that in the news reel scene. I'm sure it's impossible to break in through normal methods though.

I am not in the discord server and i can't join at the moment or i'll have a lot of servers at once and it'll get hard to navigate in them all, but in his video i actually suggested he should take inspirations from the Stalker Franchise, as those games are sorta the same theme as this one and it's a good reference of ideas and different aspects for the game that would suit War of Worlds, so if you could pass the idea to the devs, i'd appreciate it

Here is a question to maybe ask the dev...will there ever be steam workshop support cause it will make the game have even more replayability and will help the game keep it's players engaged for a long period of time

@@Uberkit Shame but I hope that when it blows up on steam, they’ll then have enough funds and support to have it on consoles possibly as I sold my last PC if the devs will do in the end I know for a fact I would buy this game no matter of a price and most my friends would but I’ll just have to watch your videos for now.

I have an idea which will make the game lord of the world really good We should be able to create our own kind of tripods so we'll be able to make bipods we'll be able to make any trip by really cause that would be fun cause then you will go to make it at the lowest amount of light will be able to put on the tripod that we create would be only 2 if we put only 1 on then the thing 1 fall so we will have to only we'll see you next or we can make even 4 legs on a tripod well I also be able to change the head Of the tripod it will be fun if we could do anything to our tripods that we create if there's a mod called create your own tripod is that will be fun we can create our own map or tripod or we can do it about
