I love this video. I have a brother in Christ who has been very hurtful to me and my friend lately so I tried to talk to him today & his sister joined. I was respectfully trying to advise him to show grace, he wasn't listening & asked me how my relationship with God was... I was honest with him & told him I'm struggling a bit. His sister added "only iron can sharpen iron" & "aluminum can't sharpen iron" as if I wasn't not good enough to help him. I've never felt so judged by another christian.
WOW...Drew's harsh lol, but I can relate to him. Sometimes when I pray to God I try to give Him specifications and when these aren't met, I cast them aside!!! But when we do this we are missing out on some great blessings!!! WOW! Keep being a BLESSING guys!
"11 A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. 12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. 13 For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. 14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression." 1 Timothy 2:11-14 As much as I agree with the begening of this video; the Bible is crystal clear about women preachers. I know it is hard and we all have a rebelious heart who wants to follow his own whim but we need to trust and obey the word of God. Even when we do not understand it or think it is unfair. (in which case I would recommend praying sincerely about it God is faithful to help us understand and accept)
I agree with this video, and I have a hard time knowing what to say when people claim that women should be silent, etc. considering they have a Bible verse to back it up. I think the issue is context, that Paul was writing about a specific problem and not about women as a whole for all time. Am I right or wrong or is there more to it? Help!
I don't know if after one year you even still remember posting that. I felt like I was supposed to answer though. I do not think there is a general answer to that topic, but you might wish to read 1 Corinthians 11:5 - where, to Paul, a woman praying and prophesying doesn't even seem to need an explanation. Also, in 1 Corinthians 14:36 he asks the men (well, he doesn't say "men", but in the whole paragraph he addresses them) if God's word came only from them or was taught only to them.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
