First time comment ever for me so hope it works well. I am new to sailing and have just bought a Sonata 26 and am getting ready to set sail about april in pilbara WA starting with day trips first then when i get a bit of experience will do the overnight stuff. Your videos are very helpful, informative and greatly appreciated. Please keep producing the videos . Any little tips you have will help. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the kind words Rusty. The Sonatas are a great boat. Very roomy for their length. Im sure you will have a ball. It feels great to live off the grid for a few days in some of the most beautiful places without any need to book or pay. Have fun.
Hi Andrew. Thanks for watching. No I dont have a video on lowering it but it is basically just raising it in reverse. And sorry also a no on the spinnaker.
Hi Alexander. Although Id love to be able to launch without putting the axle under there is no way Im moving that boat on its trailer. The only solution was to make sure there was plenty of grease pumped in via the bearing buddies. It seemed to work reasonably well as I never blew out a bearing and I had the boat for a couple of years.
Its called a "Toggle Pin" on the furler.. "Topping lift" holds up the boom at the "clew" end of the mainsail. . 🙂
Awesome video bro well done
magic.. virtually no vids online showing the process from start to finish
Almost reminds me of setting up my camper . Miss that

Very useful, thank you!
great content Dave
Great video !!!
Interesting. I've rigged thousands of TY's and this is the first time I've ever seen someone rig from the bow. It works for you.
Great vid. I have a Cole 23 and have a similar procedure, but need to use an a frame for some additional support. Love to see how you do the reefing?
Where is the keel? Or does it not have one?
Mate do you have a video on how you lower you mast and also setting the spinnaker?

I noticed you bury your wheels when launching - how do you go about doing trailer maintenance to ensure your bearings didn't wear down?
