      Still, I would have rather for them to make a smaller one. To have the option to choose because sometimes I don't have the space in my sims house to put a cage so big and I have to create it. Maybe a smaller one that you could put on some surfaces like in the sims 1 did would be perfect, even for big ones too that could be a good idea. That way it's not taking any more slots of space in the house. Basically another option would be nice because from personal experience not everyone can have these huge cages for them. Mostly, people live in apartments ( like myself) so yeah, that would definitely have been nice. So yeah, Just another option, not everyone uses these and it would be nice to portray that in the game 😂

      @@iamkomorebi Ever look at the face of a happy Sim in Sims 4? They look like they are on way too many drugs. Have a really happy sim do something they like doing like painting and they will have an ear to ear grin the whole time, Sims 1-3 and they will lose the grin and have the "I am working on this" face normal humans do, as in not overjoyed lunatic smile. Happy Sim watching TV in Sims 3 it is resting face with occasional grins and laughs, Sims 4 it is more Lunatic grins abound. I wouldn't point at the cages when the humans in the game are way too happy when happy and if something goes slightly wrong they turn into Mr. Droopy McDroop the melting sim. It's not the cages but Maxis, they could have had the rodents in Sims 1 singing "Having the time of our lives" song from the movie Dirty Dancing in squeaks and doing solo dancing in the cage. Point is Maxis chose to overdo emotion in Sims 4 until it was extremely overdone. It isn't the cage but the developers choice to make a very happy rodent alongside other overdone emotions.
      *Edit, not even Maxis, EA killed Maxis before Sims 4 was even done and it's zombie corpse finished the game to EA's desire.

    Honestly the animations in Sims 4 and the experiments they do in the cage were super cute, but the winner for me is Sims 3, without a doubt. The liberty of finding wild rodents and having them as your pets is fun as hell. There's also the collection panel which lets you see which animals you've already encountered (if my memory serves me, been a while since I played it).

    It's sims 3 for me. I had a werewolf sim who ended up catching a wild rodent (I think it was a squirrel) home for his son. That son brought his friend everywhere. Being able to find pets just did wonders for sims who want rescues, collect insect, practicing hunting, or they're a scientist collecting data before releasing them. I also tend to build a pet store with small pets, next to a pet friendly cafe or park too, so all of animal lover sims have a spot to hangout in. I had a sim dog that liked to bark at his owner's snake friend. I love how large the enclosures are! I just wish TS3 had an autofill for community lot enclosures, so my sims won't have to catch or buy small pets for community lots.

      @@afairyist9981 Anything can run the sims 3. It's an older game.
      The sims 4 is a very light game for modern pcs (anything past 2014 really) and depends how much dlc you have.
      The sims 3 brings modern pcs to their knees without the ram usage unofficial patch/mod due to how computer architecture has changed and how the old game utilizes ram. By default it doesnt use over 2gb and new hardware basically doesn't know what to do so it runs like crap. Also TS3 doesn't recognize new gpus - anything after the gtx750 I think so modern gpus will struggle to run the hame without a mod.
      But yes, older games will generally be easier to run lol. The sims 4 chose an art style, and I do think in comparison to the sims 3, it is less demanding than the sims 3 for the hardware gen the game released on. I remember my old pc in 2010 struggling with the sims 3 and it was decent at the time, but even with my old 1050ti system back when TS4 released I had no issue running that.

      I wish I could agree, especially since the sims 3 used to crash time and time again when I got it at its release date... but the sims 4 has this horrible lag between interactions that just makes it so slow to play... you can't fast forward through a day at all. Everything going so slow makes progressing in between key moments a chore, and makes me dread doing actual fun stuff like taking my sims out, hosting parties ect. So right now, for me, sims 3 is the winner.

    But sims 4 gets an honorable mention for its wackiness and humor (Bubalus design lol), bonus points for the big cage as well. But it's a let down that you can't change their name or color, also the fact that it's from a stuff pack instead of the pets expansion.

      @@GabbyPlaysGames02 No small mammal, hamster, rat, guinea pig or otherwise should be living in a tiny cage, on mesh flooring (it hurts their feet, they get horrible sores) a single terrible hide and no way to burrow and some horrible tubes. The Sims 3 one was bad too (at least sims 4 had a solid wheel) but there was at least bedding (even if there wasn't enough) and multiple hides (though still not great) and compared to the size of the pets it was bigger than the Sims 4 one. Sims 3 wasn't great but at least it was a huge upgrade compared to Sims 2. So it's just incredibly disappointing that Sims 4 made it worse.
      To do a long rant on appropriate hamster care:
      3800cm2 or 600in2 of continued floor space, meaning that tubes, shelves and second floors don't count
      30cm or 12in of bedding, the bedding can't be scented or pine shavings as they are toxic
      They need a sandbath
      Multiple big hides
      Wheel shouldn't be smaller than 25cm or 10in (that's minimum if your hamster is small)
      Food needs to have the proper nutritional content 17-19% protein 4-7% fat 6-15% fiber, absolutly no colorful kibble for food, pellets in general are bad, they need a lot of variety
      Water bowl not bottle
      Sorry for the long explanation, I am just really sad about how common bad hamster care still is, especially in the US, even though we have the information available

    The Sims 4 death is grim 👀 it was truly shocking when I first saw it. Funny how one of the most gruesome ways to die is a rodent, lol. Love that they included consequences for neglect. It's terrible how small the 1 and 2 cages are, especially in 2 when compared to the animal itself, that's a transport carrier, not a living habitat. But it's good to see how in 3 and especially 4 it's much better, even if it's still quite bare, and the nod to changing the substrate. Shows a better societal understanding of a more adequate standard of keeping these often neglected animals.

    • @Jhud69
      @Jhud69 Год назад +7

      I'd say 3 had the best cage. 4 might be big but it's really not that good, plastic tunnels are proven to be dangerous to hamsters and especially not recommended for hedgehogs and also they are on a wire mesh instead of substrate which is terrible for hamsters.

    • @biblicallyaccuratecockroach
      @biblicallyaccuratecockroach Год назад +6

      @@Jhud69 Yes, mesh isn't great, but I put 4 above 3 because at least it's got _some_ enrichment, 3 is just bare bones. Us arguing which one is better is kind of a losing battle since neither is great, we're both wishing we had better terrariums.

    • @nardalis4832
      @nardalis4832 Год назад +2

      @@Jhud69 I was surprised to see that they walk on a wire mesh BUT the sims clean the substrate that is UNDER the wire mesh. I think it might be a design choice to not make the animation so complicated, but I mean... even if it was like this, it still won't mean that you also doesn't have to clean the wire mesh as well xD

When I was a little girl playing The Sims.1 back in day, I made my real life family; my parents, my brother & myself. I always begged my mom for a hamster and so of course I had to give my sim-self one. I still remember playing and how my sim-dad got up from watching tv and just dropped dead 😂 then my the rest of the family dropped like flies and I was so confused as to why lol
