I think what often goes underrated in these masterful Mashups are the little extras like having Jimi in there and the closing George Lynch solo. These really help tie everything out into a completely new work. Great job Bill!
I’m a huge Lynch fan but now that that solo is folded into the “new work” I’m having trouble placing which Dokken song it goes with. So you’re right, it’s a wholly new creation.
What I love the most about Bill McClintock is that he takes a well-known fact (classic rock and soul-funky music share the same roots) to create a synthesis which sounds so perfect that is beyond time and space

Bill probably spent more time on this mashup than the band spent making the original song itself LOL.

I've heard him do Marvin Gaye & Ratt, Van Halen & Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder & Van Halen, & countless other genre collaborations which leads me to perceive that he has a strong music education/composition/arrangement background. That is my original pretense concerning his "mash ups".

The difference is I don't have the financial freedom & time to pursue similar avenues. He is excellent at what he does.
Story Time: After I graduated high school, I worked closing shift (4pm-1am) at a gas station. The radio would always play absolute bangers, like Putting on the Ritz, Paula Abdul, and of course The Whispers and Survivor would play; almost daily. This track you put together really brings me back to sitting on the cases of beer in the cooler just to catch a break from a crazy Friday rush. We would get our weekly shipment from the supply company on Fridays, so we were always swamped with customers and inventory. Sometimes, when it's 90 degrees outside, the station is full, and you just finished sweeping up every single cigarette butt out of the parking lot, the only reprieve you had was when you were refilling the drinks from inside the cooler; you got you sit down for a few minutes in the cold. This track feels like when you step out of the drink cooler, the store finally cleared out, the sun is starting to set, and your boss just left for the night. The radio is playing, this track is playing. Great times, considering I was getting 55 hours a week (with overtime) while my colleagues were unemployed. This track really brings me back.
Bill does this every time.. Just when you're coming to grips with how amazing yet an other new mashup of his is, he trows in yet a third track for a solo, in this case Jimi's virtuoze guitar play, to amp it all up even higher.. Bill, you are such a dude! ❤️

Now that's how you do a proper double bill equivalent for mashup musical pieces, and you certainly didn't disappoint in that department, Bill, you really didn't. This is one of the best mashup mixes out there, and while "Eye of the Tiger" may not be one of my favourite Rocky anthems, it was certainly a stroke of genius on your part to have it meshed up so well with the other tune so effortlessly, and now I can appreciate both of them in the process. Need I say more of sprinkling little touches here and there, elevating the final result to new high-rolling highs that the rest of us merely catch a glimpse at best? My final verdict? Awesome with a capital A, and banging to the core!

While watching today's mashup, I was struck by the interrelatedness of the music genres. And that we're watching different branches of the musical tree being brought together.
I never liked the song Eye of the Tiger until now with that back beat and the surprise Hendrix "Watchtower" solo and the George Lynch solo at the end. Great job!
