It is so crazy that they made those pieces by using walrus tusks, all the hard tasks been thorugh the manufacture for a piece of high class worth entertainment. Now you can just 3D print a whole set in a single day.
I’ve always wondered if chess has been played by the same rules since inception or if it used to be played differently like if queens couldn’t be moved diagonally or something.
The rules have changed quite I bit I believe. At the time this chess set was being used in the 12th century queens could only move 1 square diagonally.
