I just bought this drone as a beginner and was nervous about whether I would enjoy flying it. The price point seemed perfect for testing the waters. Let me tell you, I love it! I'm still learning and getting comfortable with it, researching and being extra careful. Yesterday, I flew the furthest I have so far. As the battery began to die, the drone automatically went into return-to-home mode and made it back with 10% battery left. I was nervous because it looked like the battery was depleting fast. I already know I'll upgrade in the future, but for now, I'm just enjoying the experience and learning. Worth every penny. I will say, I had alittle bit of trouble with the DJI fly app, as it it not in the android store, only for apple. They have it to download for Android on their website. I have the Samsung s24ultra.
@@BlueDroneBlues Yes, it's a machine that has most of what you can wish for. Especially for recon / SAR type of work. But it's HUGE and noisy compared to the Mavic 2 EA - with which I have sort of a love-hate relationship... 😅 The thermal imagery from the M2EA is the same quality as the M30T but it's severely lacking in firmware development and functionality. Form factor and speed of deployment makes me keep it Now let me wish for a Mini 2T. 👍😅

Would be nice if DJI or someone would make strobe lights built into the drone. On top and bottom for us lets say older drone flyers to help us see the drone better and not loose VLOS. I think it is possible to put built in strobe light on the rear of the batter with a small push button to turn it on and off. This would also help with VLOS.

As a pilot for many years I could never get used to pushing forward on the little "stick" to go up and pulling back to go down. Opposite of what you do in a real plane! I asked DJI to make a software option where a user could change/reverse the up/down but never happened. Does the software in the DJI Mini 4K allow you to do that?

My first drone was a Mavic Pro 1 when it came out. It was a good unit, and still is, but I upgraded to the Mini 4 Pro. Both drones hit the sweet spot for price/performance when they were released. Hopefully I’ll have the Mini 4 Pro for 8 more years too!

The 44809 exception is for "recreational purposes" only. If you are only flying and posting video for recreational purposes, you can post it wherever you'd like. The challenge comes when you post it to a platform that pays you for that posting. If you have a personal youtube channel that is just a video platform for you to share with friends, that's fine. Anything else (for your church, to promote your business or your kid's school/team/etc) is not recreational. If you're literally only posting it for your friends and family to enjoy, that's recreational use.

DJI keeps on raising the bar! This is a great entry level choice. I do lament their business decision to stop creating iOS SDK kits. I’ll keep my Mini 2 as I can use iOS Litchi to do Waypoint planning on either my desktop (I love having the bigger screen and the stress-free setting of my computer station) or in the field with my controller/phone and use iOS Maven for GPS Follow Me while also offering grand kids a safe training environment with Maven's Geofencing feature.. I see they got rid of the 5.8 Ghz radio due to the mini 2 debacle with the firmware burning out the 5.8 Ghz radio for folks!!! This is clearly a mini 2 in my mind with this removal.... lol I bought one because it is still awesome. Just wish they'd fix the firmware on the mini 2 to remove it as well.
If I’m not mistaken if you fly for commercial purposes the drone needs to be registered and the pilot needs part 107 certification regardless of the weight of the drone.
Only differens with remote controller rc-n1c shorter battery life 4hours vs 6hours with rc-n1
Can you tell me if this drone has a follow me or active track mode?
No
Has anyone successfully been able to get the Google Pixel 7 Pro to work with the Mini 4K ? When connecting the cable to the controller the phone constantly switches between charging and not charging. I updated the FW on both controller and Mini 4K temporarily using an iphone.
I do wish they’d release a non Mini Pro that is RID compatible that has a good price tag like this, but say $350 area.
Are the mini 3 pro batteries useable with this drone?
nop
What happens if you don’t register
the link does not take you to the mini 4k
does this drone have a memory card?
Are you 100% sure it doesn’t have Obstacle Avoidance Control??? I saw a Dutch review and they were testing the avoidance control 🤔🤔🤔
This is the mini 2, what's next the Mini 3 4k, at least they could have added occusync 4, Go forward DJI not backwards
Bruh how you not going to say if it has follow me /active track thats like thenonly feature people want to know abour aside from 4k
It's just missing the ability to connect to the DJI RC remote
will the batteries from a DJI Mini 2 fit the new DJI Mini 4K?
yes
DJI keeps on raising the bar! This is a great entry level choice.
I do lament their business decision to stop creating iOS SDK kits. I’ll keep my Mini 2 as I can use iOS Litchi to do Waypoint planning on either my desktop (I love having the bigger screen and the stress-free setting of my computer station) or in the field with my controller/phone and use iOS Maven for GPS Follow Me while also offering grand kids a safe training environment with Maven's Geofencing feature..
Hope all is well with you and yours. Take care!
Is it not a rehash Mini2? What is the difference?
No SDK no LED don't bother gorillaman
Should I get a mini 2 se £250
Or mini 4k £270
(I have the original se but I’m getting a new one
mini 4k 100% 20 pounds for 4k 30fps 2.7k 60fps whereas the mini 2se is 2.7k 30fps
@@a.xdenn_ I have been watching vids and I rlly can’t tell the difference
Mini 3. Hands down. Same money.
I've been very pleased with the Mini 3 as a beginning drone user, bought it about a month ago and it has been a blast.
This exactly. For another $40-50, you can get a Mini 3 at Costco right now which is a significantly better machine than this Mini 2... eh, I mean, Mini 4K.
🙂
@@jrflyerfpv I have the Mini 3 but the Mini 4k is smaller and the built quality seems better shorter arms and props
@@brucedon1951 Curious on what you mean by the build quality is better with the 4K over the Mini 3. In what way?
Very nice!
