    Follow-up film to Babes in Arms sees Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland crying "Say Kids, let's put on a show!" in service to an imperiled orphanage. The duo and their friends stage a benefit, which includes a hilarious send-up of the biggest musical stars of the time, and their performances lead to success, fame and fortune in New York. Rooney's Carmen Miranda is not to be missed. Directed by Busby Berkeley.

    Its so unfortunate that such a beautiful woman and singer had to pass away so early in her life, but we still have memories of her on film❤❤❤

    I love this part of the movie, especially this number. When Judy comes in it’s perfection!! It’s so sentimental for me I don’t even know why ugh I love them

    You can see in Mickey's performances that he was really into doing a good job for himself and the studio. A great work ethic from a very young age. Instilled into him by his family.

    I like this almost as much as Jimmy Cagney's performance of it in Yankee Doodle Dandy.

      How I wish Judy would have been loaned to Warners so that she could appear in Yankee Doodle Dandy with Cagney. Think about Judy in Frances Langford's spot singing over there

    Mickey Rooney was very talented BUT.... Has no business singing next to Judy. When she comes in at 0:35 it's like going from a Hyundai to a Ferrari . WOW. !!!! . She was great.

      He was great in every single way, but you said it. It isn’t a put down of him, it’s just she is that phenomenal. I’m not sure anyone could stand next to her that wasn’t classically trained and had a true mastery over their voice. I personally think she had the greatest voice in show business history. Hands down.

    It’s a shame that RUclips removed the ending for this movie simply because it had blackface in it.

      Not really a shame for the blackface like it was in Babes in Arms was unnecessary.

    • @adam32492
      @adam32492 3 года назад

      The black face indeed was unnecessary and I agree with the notion that perhaps the reason why Shirley Temple passed on appearing in this film was how it would offended Bojangles
