I’m a Tattoo artist and this iPad is an absolute dream for work. Procreate and the whole device makes things much easier. Its crazy expensive with the pencil and everything but totaly worth it :)
I completely agree with you that the cost is well worth it. I did the math and for me, the cost of the IPad Pro and iPencil over one year was around $3.61/day. Roughly the cost of a fancy coffee out. It might not be cheap to purchase outright, but with planning it is not unattainable.

I have the new iPad Pro 2021 and on your video it looks different it doesn’t give me the option to pick more it’s just a list so I’m confused
yeah it’s expensive when you first buy it. But as you say totaly worth it right from the beginning. Also if you imagine how long and often you will use it. And things getting easier with it.
Please try using your thumb, index, and middle fingers for the 3-finger gestures. It’s supposed to feel like you’re “picking up” the words to copy them, and then placing them back down when you paste.

I got the magic keyboard and yes, it is expensive but man, it is a good keyboard/protection for the iPad!

Besides that the iPad is attached to the keyboard is the integration superb, i have 2 spots to put a usb-c cable in, so i can connect more external drives or other stuff. tell me about yours? The brand ect.
In what at the time seemed like a complete lapse of reason, I shelled out the money for the magic keyboard. I’m here to tell you that I’ve never had a keyboard that I enjoyed typing on more.
Apple totally NAILED it with this one.
I tried the magic keyboard but returned it for the Logitech magic touch combo. It offers more protection and you can use it as a tablet way easier. It's also cheaper 💪

Also I’d like to note I have the Logitech folio keyboard which is cheaper than the magic keyboard but does everything just as fine. Backlit keyboard, trackpad, and it works really well.

I'm also a student, been using iPad ever since the first ipad ever, always use it at home and now bought the iPad Air M1 for university and home at the same time (running Genshin impact at 120fps lol, this thing is a beast). I recomment the logitech combo touch case, instead of the magic keyboard. Still is expensive, but is better in every way!

With the Logitech Combo Touch case keyboard it’s the perfect device!

I just need more information on hooking up an external storage. I like the ease of how you used yours. Right now I use a Travel Router so I can use my external drive with my various Apple product. I use the original magic keyboard ⌨️ so there were no other colors to choose from but this new white keyboard is just so pretty! 😍 ✨
I've got my iPad magic keyboard recently so I've choosed a black one. It's because a white keyboard will become dirty like a white T-shirt. But you can't wash your magic keyboard.

small clarification for 10:44 1000 Nits of full screen brightness is only achieved with hdr content, 1600 Nits is only achieved in individual areas, not full screen (and also only with hdr content). normal full screen brightness is 600 nits.

I just ordered this from Best Buy and should be here today, but could be delayed because of the ice storm here. I'm looking forward to the 120hz refresh rate. I am hoping the camera will take macro photos. I was going to buy a new computer but opted for this. I can always use my laptop if needed. At some point I'll look into the magic keyboard.

How do you make it so the Dock doesn’t swipe up first when you’re swiping up to go home? When I start swiping, the dock comes up first and I need to swipe really high to go home but you didn’t have the dock pop up when you swiped up
its about speed. when you do it fast it closes instantly but when you do it slow it opens the dock

Okay, Nice video, but only one complaint. Buy the logitech combo touch instead of the magic keyboard and let me tell you why. 1. When removing ipad from keyboard (magnetic) to use the ipad as a tablet, you still have a case around it to protect your (1200$+) ipad [BIG DEAL]. 2. You can tilt the ipad in waaaay bigger angles (almost 90°), while magic keyboard is very limited.. [big deal when Reading or watching videos]. 3. The keyboard had more room at upper keys so fingers don't touch the ipad itself. 4. The touchpad is bigger than on the magic keyboard (easier ofcourse) 4. The material is more modern and sleek and is more protective and endurable. And 5. The magic keyboard doesn't protect te sides, while the logitech one does while still being able to hold the magic pen magneticly.
6. Logitech has function keys. 😉🥳

Max full screen brightness of 1000 nits is ONLY when watching HDR content, when just using the iPad it maxes out at 600 nits just like the 11 inch. Very important detail.
Thanks for the heads up. I don't think I needed it to get to 1000 nits since I use it for drawing mostly, but it's good to know when the 1000 nits are enabled
Wrong, peak brightness is at 1600 nits when watching HDR, not 1000.
1000 nits peak brightness is while you're watching anything full screen. Normal home screen or browsing has 600 nits peak brightness.
Brandon, thank you this video! I am new to iPad Pro so I needed your tips and tricks for sure. For some reason my Settings screen has different items under each item than you describe. Such as under the Home Screen & Dock selection, I don’t have the two selections for “More" or “Bigger”. Also under the Control Center I don’t have but one toggle bar at the top not two as you show. I have the iPad Pro 11” 2021 M1 3rd generation device. I also checked to make sure I have the latest software update which is showing now 15.2. Why am I not seeing the same items in Settings as you have on this video. I really need help from anyone that has an answer for me. Thanks in advance for anyone on this comment thread that may have a clue to my dilemma. Please advise!
My iPad Pro 12.9” 5th gen has the same problem on both issues. It appears they have adjusted the settings since this video. I would love to learn how to get the “more” feature with the new settings.
iPad OS 15 came out in September and this video was done months before that. It could be the reason you see differences.

Our minds will ooo and ahh us without realizing you’re actually oooing and ahhing at your current screen or TV. I’m loving my 2021 11 inch. I didn’t need to upgrade, id just gotten the 2020 earlier this year. But… i’m happy with the decision.

I have the MacBook Pro. I lug that thing around whenever I travel. My last trip I left it at home and took the iPad and magic keyboard instead. It’s was so nice. I didn’t want to spend the money on that keyboard, but I’m so glad I did.

Nice video thanks for the helpful tips. I did get the magic keyboard and the pencil. Yes I am gullible…. Any ways, I was able to do all the gestures except the triple and quadruple taps. Triple tap just select the entire paragraph not the sentence and quadruple tap did nothing. Wondering if this was a beta feature that never got implemented?

only the camera has a wider angle.
face id uses separate infrared lenses to map your face and unlock the ipad. those lenses do not have wider angle viewing so the angles you can unlock from have not changed.

I got the white magic keyboard. This thing is such a great tablet I don’t know how much I’ll actually use it.
I just want to mention that the normal brightness is still 600nits
The 1000 nits is the brightness of the full display during watching hdr content and with this you can reach 1600nits then

Thank you. Great review and suggestions that otherwise I might have never knew about. Getting the most from my new 2021 11 in. iPad Pro. I love the 11 in. size. They are both IPS LED with HDR 10 and Dolby Vision. Here’s the thing… spending $350 more for the upgraded mini-LED Liquid Retina display is no way worth the difference! I did not want a new laptop, I wanted a new iPad Pro! The keyboards are great, even the $130 Logitech Folio Touch which connects the same way and has a great trackpad. I purchased that on sale for $110. $300 for the Apple branded version? No sir! I know people will spend whatever it takes to get iMore, not me. I am more level headed and conscientious of how quick you go from $799 to $1599 with just a few more boxes checked. I LOVE the 2021 iPad Pro. I love the Liquid Retina HDR screen with great pixel density and a more reasonable 600 nits brightness. If I wanted a new laptop, I would be shopping for a replacement for my 2019 MacBook Pro. I love that beast. No, an iPad should focus on mainly “portability”. It’s a tablet first, always was, always will be. I am aware of the screen size difference literally as my Surface Pro 6 is 15.9. To me, that size is a laptop first. In fact, I always use the keyboard with the Surface and constantly forget it is touchscreen! Again, great review!

Same, I just ordered an iPad Pro 11" M1 and I can't wait to get it. Magic keyboard is too expensive, at that point just get a macbook air. Yes, the screen won't be as nice and neither will the speakers, but you are paying a fortune for that package with the 12.9 plus magic keyboard. Not to mention limited by iPad OS.
Anyone wondering wether the 11 inch will be big enough , trust me it definitely is it’s a perfect size for everything especially travel !

My son showed me today how he could connect a PS4 controller to his regular 10” iPad so it’s not just the M1 iPad Pro that has that capability. He was playing Asphalt 8 with the controller.

FYI folks, do not use the secondary appearance in FaceID for a second person!
The way FaceID works is it tries to make one accurate face map from the two scans you give it. If you do two separate people the neural model will slowly get worse as it’s “logic” becomes a mixture of your two faces! It will actually make the experience slower and less accurate for both of you.
Very true! Only reason I included that is because I’ve read comments from countless people who have 2 users on the same iPad and want 2 different Face ID logins available

How many people could see any difference between the 2 screens when he kept raising and lowering it?
I put the youtube video up to max res on my M1 Mac Air but couldn't see anything. I think you really need to use very specific test images to demonstrate the difference through youtube. I've seen other videos that compared the 11" and 12" screens and you could see how much better the blacks were on the 12" but also the ghosting issues around the edge and on bright white screens with dark text.
Res on the macs is crap!! Max is still dark..iPad is way brighter
I watched Mythic Quest on Apple TV on my 12.9 inch. I was blown away with how good it looked even while on a crappy internet connection. Now that I have my new router set up, I’m sure it will look even better.
The first thing to do is PUSH Apple for serious upgrades to the Operating System of the "Pro" line of iPads so you can actually use all that power. What's really different this time?
There is no REAL difference between the use of an iPad/iPad Air and M1 iPad *Pro*...let alone 2018 iPad Pro and an M1 iPad Pro that shares the same specs as a MacBook and iMac.

Basically, the new M1 iPad Pro is no more capable than the 2018 iPad Pro due to Apple’s limitations.

The remote in control center isn’t just for Apple TV’s. My vizio tv is compatible with airplay 2, and it works with that control center widget. It’s useful sometimes
