I got the 3 inch intakes, I had to modify the crash bar (prob not safe but at least most of it is still there) according to the directions on the z1 instruction manual. They sell z1 crash bars for like $300 but modifying the original is cheaper. All in all took about 10 hours for me (had to take a lot of trips to the hardware store bc needed tools) but it made a bigger difference than I thought it would. Engine sounds throatier, idle is a bit louder and clearer, and I might feel a tiny bit more power, I can't tell if it's placebo or not. Either way, definitely worth the $500 or so to me, they look sick and sound sick. Thanks for the video to follow along with!
Do the air filters touch the radiator? I put my cold air intake on my 350Z and after setting in my air filter, it slightly touches the radiator. They say the filters are not supposed to touch it.
Your CCV , comes off the drivers side valve cover , get some 5/8” hose , run it towards the space just in front of the strut bar , on the drivers side , up against the inner fender wall , get a small K/N air cleaner , that has a 5/8” nipple , so you vent your CCV into the engine compartment , on those long silver tubes , use a short hose and a bolt to block it off , you will notice the difference ,
Can you place the intakes above the medal bracket or they have to go under the medal bracket the way u have them? Because I wanted to do above the medal bracket but would my bumper still fit or no?
Sounds great man. I’m curious since you already had nismo intakes was there a noticeable sound difference with the bumper back on? And power difference feel as well?
@@sergnextdoor5213 Damn no wonder it sounds so good! I was looking at MD for a CBE but I am worried about loudness and cops LOL, have you ran it with stock cats? Any feedback on what your thoughts are on as a daily driver?
i got an 07 hr, but that outlet in the radiator support on my passenger side isn’t there, is the wrong radiator support on it? if so should i cut it or buy the support with the outlet?
just get the 3 inchh cold air intakes from z1bro.. u will probably have to modify your crashbar. 2nd best is the 2.5 inch cold air from z1 wiithout having to modify your crashbar
@@sergnextdoor5213 do you think you get any gains with the 2.5” intakes? Just installed them and I feel a little difference. Also, thank you for the install video 🙌 just finished installing a z1 touring exhaust too
Sup brother good video as always. I look forward to a tuning video. I had trouble finding a tune shoop in NORCAL. Keep me posted. For trans//diff oil. Look at redline. Much smoother shifts. Keeps heat lower too.
Thank man! I ended up using redline for both my trans and diff. I’m having issue getting into gear at a dead stop. No grinding … gonna have to take to shop diagnose. Hopefully it’s just the master cylinder or something minor. I’ll def let u know when I get a tune 👍

@@anthonypierson1593 glad you were able to fit in the 3 in intakes ! That’s awesome
Good work bro. Those intakes look amazing, I’m proud of you.
Thanks brother 🙏🏼 they do look amazing

is it bad that ive seen some ppl cap it off instead of vent it with hose?
@@redline350zHR Won’t work , that’s the only place the engine vents , it would blow out of the dipstick , then you would have oil everywhere

The K&N filter is about 2” by 3” , they only make one in that size , try it

Power difference yes. Slightly different noise but not very noticeable… nismo
Short air intakes are garbage bro
Nice jams to listen to while working on car
Thanks man👍
Exhaust setup?
Hey man really awesome Z! Did you perform any modifications to your exhaust or is your exhaust completely stock? Thanks!
Art pipes with motordyne exhaust

That VQ sounds so good bro!
Thanks man !
It helps if you take of the brace bar
So any time you want to clean the filters you got to take the bumper off....nah I'm good. I stick with stock which some say are better.
Yes 😂 but car performs way better than the stock intakes. This short ram intakes heat soak fairly quickly
I wanna hear it soon!
Absolutely bro 👍

Did you ever find out bro I got the same problem
You can also take the strut bar off to avoid scratching your intake piping 🤦♂️😎
That is true 👍
Does anyone know the name of the part that he cut on the driver side
its like a vacuum line
What are best intakes for a stock HR 2008 350z? Untuned and all stock

@@sergnextdoor5213you don't have to tune for the 3in ones?
@@BunnyBUNGALO yes u have to tune to get the best results of any intake. It’s best to get intake, full exhaust, and headers to make it worth it!

How much HP did you get from the intakes (with tune too)
Like maybe 10hp-20hp lol
I feel like these made my hr slower. I actually lost to a de the other day after installing them… if anyone buys these, buy the 3” intake.
U need a tune after installation
almost 1k lets gooo
Yes sir!!! Thanks for the support !
Looked like a pain getting those in but it looks great, I'm sure it sounds amazing in person!
Thanks bro!!! It kinda was but worth it lol
Freaking electrical tape...It's a really clean install....nope
lol I used tape to hold down the plastic film I believe. Other than that the actual intakes had a clean install
