IKE you really hit a home run !! This is the best info I've seen!! Just recently went fishing here in Kansas water temperature was 39 to 43. The only way I caught fish was with the Slobberknocker. I hadn't thought of turning the craw style bait side way will definitely try it. Thank you so much for sharing.
I fish at night a lot and 90% of the time I'm throwing a 3/8 black and blue Chatterbait. 7 foot MH with an 8.1:1 reel because I find that a lot of times they grab it and start running at me and I need to pick up line. My favorite rig to throw by far.
I took all my Chatterbait Elites and changed where the bend was in the blade because I noticed that the only difference in the Jackhammer and the Elite blade was where the bend was, the Jackhammer has a bend closer to the top of the blade so when I did that to my Chatterbait Elites I noticed that the Elite Chatterbaits started vibrating just as fast as the Jackhammer! It’s amazing how it changed the startup of that blade!
I love all your “In the Shop” vids. This one was super informative as I had no idea I could modify or alter the action by bending the blade or thinning the skirt. Great stuff. Can’t wait to try. I’m wondering, would you still lessen the vibration in cold water if it’s super dirty? Thanks for a great channel. Appreciate all you do.
Bass hunt using their lateral lines almost exclusively here in the north during winter or so I'm told also try out fishing a chatterbait with no skirt it darts and hunts much better.
Well maybe I should give this a try, I bought 3-4 chatter baits a couple years ago and aint caught a fish on one yet LOL! I've fished all kinds of baits but I think I have caught more fish on a yamamoto sinko than all other baits combined
Do you really throw the power stinger or do you throw a different trailer ? I gave caught any with that yet ? I always catch fish with the strike king blade minnow. But I’m always tying the paper stinger in first because it looks so good
Mike, when you thinned the skirt, it looked like it was all taken from the outer portion of the skirt - is that correct? Question. I like to use the rod to impart some erratic action, a jerk now and then and withe the reel to slower it down now and then. with the exception of dirty water, I've found a more constant retrieve works. Thx Mike I enjoy your shop talk.
Ike's medium action slow power moderate action reel has me cracking up lol. 🤣 must be a jersey boy talk.. just kidding Ike. I can't say anything cause you could outfish me any day. Use whatever vocabulary you want cause you're IKE! I'd like to know who came up with the name slobberknocker? It's quite the unique name.
Take a bite out of it man haha. I tend to use a fluke when the fishing gets tough in that clear wata. I've never tried the skirt ordeal ima have to try it if it makes it dart. I along with others appreciate it man !!
Chatterbait isn’t one of the best lures created. I’ve spent hours fishing with it at my local pond and have never even gotten a single bite. Then I tied on a jig or a swimbait and start catching fish. I wasted $$ on the chatterbait. I was suckered into the hype. It must work at some lakes for some people. It just doesn’t work where I fish. It has been a giant disappointment
Best chatterbait video ever
Thanks Mike for showing me otherways to fish chatter baits.god bless you and tight lines
MAN…those tips are killer. Exactly the type of stuff I’ve been looking for as I’m just getting into chatterbaits

Folks at home, folks at home! 🤙🏻
The Spunk Shad is awesome trailer!
Thanks Mike🎉
Good stuff brother 😎🤙🏽
Great video Mike. The crawdad trick really makes alot of sense. Thanks
Imitates a baitfish but with more vibration
Great tips Ike. Will try this on Bull Shoals this winter.
Thanks Mike! Great info
Best chatter bait mod vid .😊

Great video as always, a lot of good info
Great tips keep them coming loving it
Great tips Mike thank you.
I've been fishing them with a D Bomb as a trailer. Cut about a 1/4" off and it fits perfect. Having better luck that a single tail trailer.
Thanks for all the info.
I've never thrown chatterbaits I'll definitely save this video, thanks!
Good stuff homie 💪
I just want to thank you for passing your knowledge off to us. Your video's give me so much more information to add to my way of fishing.
I caught one chain pickerel on a black and blue chatter bait in June. Our smallmouth has ended yesterday November 30 here in New Brunswick Canada

I use a black Zoom Fat Albert Twin Tail Grub on my black/blue Chatterbait at night. Works well!
@@robertbrost7777 I'll have to give that a try. I'm bouncing between the Baby D Bomb and the Yum Spine Craw.
Try a 3.5 Hog Farmer spunk shad. You will love it.
Great video. I want to see you catching fish with neko rig
I use a Craw style trailer a ton, here in the north it gets bits!

Great stuff! Thanks for the video and I looking forward to diving into more of your vids! Just subbed!
Great info
Thank you mike witch chatter bait setup would you use on the Potomac river thanks

great mods... been proven effective for me for years...

Will these tips also work on swim jigs?

I LOVE the stinger!!!

What are your thoughts regarding blade color and water clarity?
SlobberKnocker is #1
Hey Mike great stuff as usual. Stupid question of the day: do they have to be fished with a trailer?
Man I never thought about using a medium power rod! I’ve always use a 7’2” Medium heavy! Makes sense though
I like the pliers on the string. You now if you put it down you’ll never see them again 😂😂
How well does a chatterbait fish with no skirt at all? Ive tried it and noticed it hunts real well but havent caught anything on it yet.
Ike's medium action slow power moderate action reel has me cracking up lol. 🤣 must be a jersey boy talk.. just kidding Ike. I can't say anything cause you could outfish me any day. Use whatever vocabulary you want cause you're IKE!

Still trying to catch my first bass on a chatterbait 😉 so far, the bass in my area have shied away from chatterbaits
Same here! And I fish one for at least a couple hours each time out!
same here!
One thing to never forget is the chatterbait blade after catching a few fish it makes cuts on your line so don't forget to check your line and retie .
Take a bite out of it man haha. I tend to use a fluke when the fishing gets tough in that clear wata. I've never tried the skirt ordeal ima have to try it if it makes it dart. I along with others appreciate it man !!
Don’t use the Molix lover anymore?
Strange too me. Bend towards the hook or tighter angle. More vibration. Something about Physics. 🤔🤔. Good too know
Michael....talk a bit faster. Love you tips and videos but there's alot on RUclips theses days and time is of importance. Love ya man. 👍
I bet your wife and family have to wear earplugs, LOL 🤣
I catch way more fish on a spinner bait than a chatter
Spinnerbait or a rooster-tail style?
You are missing out on hog chatter bait fish especially at night

Why. Why are you yelling lol
I use them on redfish in dirty water they crush them. Flounder are fond of them too.
