- Chris is the technician you hope is going to work on your Honda when you bring it in for service. Wrenching on Hondas before he ever did it professionally, you can tell he has a passion for the brand. It was a blast to hang out and talk tools, and I loved all the specialty Honda tools he had. Chris, THANK YOU so much for the tour and taking the time out of your day to show me around your box. If you enjoyed the tour Chris took us on, give this video a Like!

Heyyyyy
Thanks so much for the wonderful tour Chris!
@@CBloc757 hopefully you find a couple things in the engine bay to even things out ;) lol
Either tool for stripping 1/0 and 2/0 I use is cigar cutters... I have the tool like you but I don't care for it personally. If you don't squeeze hard you won't cut strands. I think in my system I have 12 lugs from alternator to battery bank in the trunk (not to mention battery to battery and to supercap bank and amps 😂... Cigar cutter comes in clutch)
I don't know if you're a basshead but another thing I like to do is connect my amps and batteries (I build my own lithium banks and supercap banks) I use the 350A Anderson connectors/fork lift battery connectors (expensive but it's nice to rip out amps and I take down my battery and cap banks and charge and test/match cells so worth it to me)
Now that’s a man that has perfected his craft. Huge respect.
I agree mark!
Leaving so many tools in the work 💀
I’m a Honda lube tech so this video was a really good insight on what the flat rate techs have in their toolboxes
Best thing I can tell you as a flat rate tech is buy cheaper tools at first and replace what breaks with higher quality stuff when you're more established in the field.
I've never worked in a dealership so I don't know what the culture is like there, but couldn't you go and ask to see what they've got in their box? In my shop we are always talking tools with the lube/tire techs and literally telling them what they need and what they don't...and honestly that's how most of the lube tech move up- they show interest in the tools and the jobs we are doing and go buy the tools and when we get swamped we ask them if they can do the job and if they have the tools for it, they just sort of move up. Like I said, never worked in a dealership so don't know how it works.
@@shr00m7sounds like he works at a shitty dealership , I worked at Acura and Honda as a “ lube tech “ and all of the techs helped me out in some way .
These dealer techs will go broke every week just to have the best box in the shop don’t be fooled buy what gets the job done and remember all hand tools have lifetime warranty not just snap on lol
Chris was cracking me up😂 cool guy and a no nonsense set up. Thanks for the tour guys.
Lol yeah he was a funny dude! I was also pretty punchy from being up for about 36hrs at that point 😅
Idea for a drinking game - do a shot every time Chris says “acquired”. Seriously though, nice, efficient setup. Thanks for the video.
2 Honda techs in a row! Great video man!
Thanks Jerry! Hope Ferrari is treating you well. Thanks for watching!
this channel should have 100k subs by now. super helpful to newbs and pros in the industry or even just a hobbiest.
Thanks for the support!
Dude, almost 14k views in 12 hours! Pumped to see those kinda numbers on your channel!
Appreciate the support! 🙏
Even now I’m finding stuff from you that will make my job way easier. That stud installer with a ball bearing is genius. I never knew that existed.
Yeah that Snap-on set is super nice. I like that it has the tool to remove and install the stud if you’re going to reuse it.
@@ToolBoxTour I see what you mean the SnapOn one grips down onto the threads, instead of the cheapies that pull apart the threads. I have no intention of ever removing and reusing studs, so it’s a non issue. I’d much rather save the $200 difference and get the no name set to make installing threads a breeze. I keep smashing my hands when using the 2 wrench method, so this is a huge relief.
Another great toolbox tours as always!! So inspiring as I build up my own personal box at home!! Thanks again!
Sam.
Glad it inspires you Sam! Good luck with your build!
Every tech always thinks they have the hardest air Hammer 😂
This is a nice set up, not over the top but everything needed. Personal taleaway from this one- I need a digital clock in my hutch 😂
All the leftover nuts and bolts scared me until Chris said they send new and Xtra so he saves them Lol 👍😎👍
Yeah i scope out the core motors and trans and take all the extras for the "incase ish" scenarios happen. But it's saved many and saved a lot of time. And honestly some times it's nice of me to replace a rusted bolts/nut
@CBloc757 copy that Chris appreciate you sharing your tools thank you
@@CBloc757always take as much as I can off of cores, mostly drain/fill plugs, they often get stripped (by express) haha, but they come in clutch when needed,
The polishing bit was hilarious never heard of a shop fire from brush sparks igniting polish💀💀
Very nice. I’d add the in der klerb option pkg (smoke machine, laser lights, and DJ turntables).
Nice, great sense of humor! I may have to get him to work on my car so I can get one of those pry bars ! lol awesome tool box !
Lol!! Or maybe a pick!
@@ToolBoxTour haha, yes ! Fortunately I’m the guy that would drive back to return them… lol
Outstanding box and tools
I used to get annoyed with my daughter because she used to watch other youtubers kids opening toys and review them , but look at me now. I am watching other grown up man opening their toolboxes and reviewing tool..😅
Great collection of tools and great advice at the end. People starting out these days have it good with all the mid range options. If I were doing it over I'd start by getting whatever I could from Amazon and maybe icon hand tools. The few I have are pretty nice
Yeah Amazon is perfect for tool shopping.
He had what he needs in his box
I had that exact Lisle scraper, and the carbide tip fell off while scraping an oil pan. I didn't even think that could happen. I'm just glad it wasn't on a head where the piece could fall into the engine. I would recommend it, but it's something to watch out for.
Oh jeez. That’s horrific. Appreciate the info on that. Thanks for watching!
Love it keep it simple right tool for the right job he's a well-spoken knowledge person
Give it hell and let's see how it goes! Good luck!
Hi another interesting tour now i have to spend more money at least it’s under a hundred dollars also first guy I saw with the air cat extended ratchet I have one also
Could you make a video breaking down each different model of toolbox? What’s the master series what’s the epic? What are the features that makes each box different. Also would be good to know the sizes how deep are the drawers things like that?
Nice setup sir 👍💯💯
Currently in express over at Honda building my tool box appreciate the video
Good luck with your build!
This is the kind of dude you want to work next to.
I agree James!
Coast sells a bite cap for pen lights they work on the stream lights to.
Kind of surprised to hear a few guys recently say they didn't have a Snap-On dealer for a few years. Usually they have the best dealer coverage of the big tool truck brands.
Yeah I don’t think it’s very common.
When I was working as a fleet mechanic, Snap On was the only truck around in my area. Rarely did I ever see anything else. I think Mac didn’t have a truck at the time in the area.
Thank you for another great video
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
Til da break of dawn
The CRV rear frame recalls were the reason why I bought the matco drill bits. Tired of having techs that don’t know how to use drill bits burn them up
It’s amazing they last so long. Do they provide you a new bit with every recall?
Another good one ‼️
Thanks 💯
10:50 I bought that unit from my Matco guy 8 or 9 years ago. Works pretty slick !
21:15 I purchased that exact slide hammer set in 1991. It was $130 new 😂. Inflation !
Yeah inflation sucksss
Good setup
Great setup and great advice.
Man I really hope you find a Subaru tech soon haha,
When I was a teenager, this was my dream job working for Honda, but no one would hire me at Honda
Depending on how long ago that way, the industry has changed a lot. They’re hurting for guys now.
@@ToolBoxTourthat’s how it was when I graduated high school in my area 20 years ago. Hardly nobody wanted to train an apprentice, and now they can hardly find anyone.
LET'S GO 🏁 TBT
17:50.. those Coast lights are good..I've got a few..really nice..no reason to spend $100 on a little light. Some do but I won't..don't need to
33:50..so will a Porter-Cable impact DRIVER.. 😅
38:50.. it's a push-pull kit..handy...
The Coast lights are pretty awesome. I always wonder why they aren’t more popular for wrenching.
Another nice tour. Thanks from Cleveland. If youre in town id love to show you my setup
Thanks adam! Send me a message on instagram @toolboxtours. I’d love to see your setup!
Cant beat the epiq 88
Great video!
Thanks Dave!
Can you please do more service truck and welders with tool boxes
Absolutely! More coming up in the future.
Black boxes FORCES you to keep it clean. That's a big plus for choosing black.
It’s like automotive paint so you can ceramic coat it. Then the dirt is less likely to stick and it wipes right off.
I couldnt see the cammo power probe
Guy had an empty power probe box smh
@@jeremysantos4753 hahaha
😂
Professional Tool Products makes the air tools for Matco,Used to be Ingersol Rand that did make the air tools for Matco at one time. Mac Tools, can send them in to get warrantied getting replacement tools in 2 weeks when there is no dealer in the area
That's good to know!
I dont know about those snap on hose clamp pliers but i know matco wont warranty the cable on theirs. Thats one of many reasons I mostly stopped buying matco. It has to be an amazing deal for me to buy anything from them.
That’s a good point about the cable.
"A little over 2 years we didnt have a snap on rep". Im in a rural area. The truck reps are very hit or miss here. The so called service just doesnt justify the cost anymore.
It’s tough to justify it sometimes. Even with no rep, I think I’d still have some snap on tools. I like their ratchets best forsure. Thanks for watching Adam.
What are those black textured strips below the purple handles, Carbon fiber looking? Like a wrap or something?
Where did he get that clock in the hutch? I think the last guy had the same thing
It’s the XUANZIT LED Digital Wall Clock
Amazon has all types.
Just the question I was going to ask I want one for the inside of my hutch
@@GreaseMonkeyDK thank you
Where at on the east coast are you
I was only on the east coast for a day. I’m back in Utah 👍
@ToolBoxTour iso where were you on the east coast
If you can state what the name of the shop and location that would be great 👍
I try to keep the location as private as possible. 🤙
Good morning
Good morning! Glad you’re here!
In my opinion and experience. Those Matco hyper step bits are complete garbage. For 400 dollars I’d expect a little more. Would also expect them ALL to be under warranty like Macs bits are. The Matco hyper steps are only good for wood or aluminum honestly. I have probably 15 of mine broken or dulled. My Mac ones. No issues at all.
It’s crazy how different of an opinion guys have on things! I agree the MAC warranty is miles better.
@ man I know it! I swear. Cause literally every video you’ve done people say those are the best drill bits they’ve every had! But hey maybe I’ve just gotten a bad set honestly who knows
Mac all the way for the drill bits, just because they warranty every single one,
@ i definitely agree man.. with as much money as they cost they should be
Yo I made it early 😊
Let’s goo!!
Morning
Morning 👋

Thats ridiculous 28k for a tool box
Cool enough to spend that much on tools but I will never understand these idiots throwing so much away on a box that holds there tools
Try and find a Porsche technician toolbox
On my list!
