Vanessa, Today is June 19th and I just wanted to tell you, in case that you feel under appreciated, that we really missed seeing you this week. But please, no pressure. We appreciate just how much work that you put into this project. We just want to say that of all of the narrowboat vlogs that we watch...well you are are favorites. Thank you.
What a beautiful comment, John! Thank you so, so much. It means such a lot to me to know that. I was celebrating my 50th and Mr M arranged secretly for my son and daughter to join us on a short break away to Scotland for the weekend. I haven’t seen them both since Christmas and it was so special. Then India came back to the boat for the rest of the week. Tristan and India are so busy now that I just wanted to take some time to spend with them. All things are back to normal for this Friday. Have a wonderful week, take care🦋🌻

Oh that was lovely Vanessa, we really enjoyed tagging along with you to the Malvern Hills and what views! WOWser, amazing, it makes me want to go there and also do the narrowboat circular trip. Seeing your videos makes me want to take to the water; Richard needs a lot of persuasion so I hope I can win him over. I love your tranquil way of life. We have peregrines nesting on our cathedral in Chichester, which is about 20 miles from us. We visited last month, but sadly didn't see them although I believe they are there. Wonderful to see, you captured some fantastic shots. Zeph is such a good girl, on the boat and around the canal and also in the town. Gorgeous girl 🐕🥰

Your drawings have come on so much since the days I first found your channel. I love watching as the creatures gradually take shape and emerge from the initial lines and then come to life on the paper. I love that shot of Zephyr on the top of the hill looking as if he is appreciating the scenery and the view.
The weekly practice makes a big difference and I can see how my drawings are improving bit by bit too. I often say to people who don’t think they can draw that they will be able to if they draw regularly. Thank you so much for your lovely comment, take care🌻🦋
Lovely vlog and even better because it's on my home turf! I had the pleasure of meeting Zephyr on the towpath where you were moored but I think you must have been busy onboard. I'm also a narrowboat owner and watching your vlogs makes me appreciate more the nature we have all around us when cruising. @@themindfulnarrowboat My boat is "Thistle Dhu" , I was moored at Diglis Basin (my home town is Worcester) but currently moored at "Withymoor Island" on the Dudley No2. "Withymoor Island" is an old converted transhipment depot now a green oasis in the urban and industrial conurbation that is the "Black country". You did motor pass us in one of your earlier vlogs and if you are ever passing again, drop me a note and if I'm not out cruising, I can show you around the island.

Beautiful, Vanessa. Mary always recognises the Malvern Hills and she knows Worcester very well, having lived in the Cotswolds for many years. The Peregrine Falcons are lovely birds. I reckon most tall churches and cathedrals are home to a pair. I believe the Andover peregrines have recently hatched. Got a special nest box up on the tower and a RUclips channel of their own. Hearing that beautiful violin playing and that beautiful scenery along the canal makes me think of the Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams which is so beautiful, paints pictures of the old ways of the country, long summer evenings of youth, a romance, walking through woodland shade with your love, holding her hand the dappled warm red light of midsummer evening and all the beauty of wild flowers and the smell of earth and wild herbs 🌿… ❤

@@themindfulnarrowboat thank you Vanessa, to be honest I don’t know the first thing about poetry, I wish I had someone to teach me about it. Mostly I don’t understand it but occasionally I get a little breakthrough. I do enjoy your poems though as they are composed as to what I believe a poem should be, in that there is rhyme and rhythm … some more modern poetry, I don’t understand but it’s not for me to be critical.
The Lark, is a very special piece as it paints such beautiful pictures in my mind, I believe music should take us to somewhere that we desire that place that can’t be described in words, like some sort of middle earth where life is safe and special and meaningful xx

The peregrine falcon is my favorite bird of prey, and I've visited Worcester it's a lovely city and has a lovely cathedral thank you for bringing back memories of England

Such beautiful colours on the canal Vanessa and Worcester is a beautiful city I used to often go walking there a few years back. I live a bit further up not far from the Shropshire Union along the old disused Newport section between Norbury and Shrewsbury canal. Xx

What a sight are the malverns. The closer i seen them was from glouester . One day i will visit them . That cathedral is quite unique worth a visit last and ot least the wildlife thanks for highlighting it in yours video take care

13.02 the lamp post from The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe =-) . You can see the inspirations for writing in the surroundings. The peregrin chick had too much down still. I watched a nest in Australia through live cam last season and it was so much fun watching the chicks grow. Thanks once again and have a fun week. =-)

On a summer evening I often walk my dog on the hill above Hawne basin (where i believe you stayed over when in the Black Country) and watch the sun going down over the Malvern Hills, a stunning sight. Once again you have produced a breath taking vidio

Those Peregrine Falcons and their chicks atop Worcester Cathedral are so majestic! You captured them so beautifully in flight near the spire, which showed its wings and fanned tail feathers beautifully. Walking along the same path that Tolkien and C.S. Lewis did must have been delightful, as seeing the very doors that supposedly were the inspiration for Lewis's 'Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe.' You got the Peregrines!! Absolutely stunning footage Vanessa - thank you! So happy to see them thriving unlike the poor Market Harborough ones without a nest. Sparrows used to peck the mortar on my old Victorian house too... never seen them do it on modern brickwork so maybe it was something they put in or didn't put in the mix.. probably less concrete (???) and more natural materials used during that time but no idea why they do it. Percy has not been seen for a couple of weeks, but I can hear him about.. probably happy with the food he can find in the fields but I have had a new bird come and call my garden home... a homing pigeon (I swear there's a sign somewhere saying bird lady lives here!). She's adorable with a pink iridescent collar of feathers and big eyes. Last exams are tomorrow, the boy is home at the weekend for the summer, then prom and dance show, then holiday and I can breathe!! That is so lovely to have a visiting homing pigeon. That happened to me when I lived in Lanzarote. I was very homesick and Mr M and I were trying to run our own, little English school whilst bringing up our two babies. I started to get very bad anxiety and I wasn't sleeping or eating; then one day, this racing pigeon arrived to our home and followed me around the house and school ( we had converted the garage into a school). It was such a wonderful distraction and it reminded my of my late Grandad- he used to keep budgies and they used to mimic his voice! He loved birds and something about this pigeon reminded me of him. It stayed with us for about a month and in that time, we made the decision, that after 3 years, it was time to return to England and start to build a life there. I felt a huge sense of relief at this. One morning, I woke up to find my pigeon had gone. I will always remember how much it helped me through that difficult time. I hope the last exams go well and that you can start to enjoy having your children back home for the summer. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Take care🦋🌻
Just watched this latest episode after my return from holiday on part of that section of the canal (where I was lucky enough to bump into you and Zeph "further up stream" lets say - twice! It really was the highlight of my trip to have those chance meetings) . . . and another beautiful vlog too, it did not disappoint! You really are so very good at this Vanessa! We actually had to shelter on the "2 hour only" section when we got caught in the thunder storm on Saturday, just coming out of the 2 big Diglis Basin locks! The spot you had used was taken already :-) I giggled at you guzzling the spring water (something I would have done too), and loved the shot of the heron flying. Next time in Worcester, you must visit the Commandery which tells of the battle between Cromwell and Charles 2nd. A wonderful medieval building just by the canal. You might have glided past without realising. 😎

Great video, i enjoy your drawings & poems at the end of each video. In the perigrines nest, it looked like there was a birds leg with a blue ring on it, i could see it was not a chick that had died because they had orange rings on. Did you notice this when filming & have any info on it ? 👍💚.
Good question, I noticed that too, but I am not sure which bird had been caught, but you are right, it was important enough to have been ringed. Racing pigeons are ringed, so it could have been something like that? Thank you for watching and commenting. Take care🦋🌻

We have peregrine falcons that nest on the spire of Norwich cathedral and have a live web cam 😊

When we were last in Worcester Basin there was a notice that unmarked moorings were for 48 hours. If you are concerned and want to stay there longer there are more moorings on the river - turn right from the basin and they are upriver by the racecourse and rowing club.
Then enjoy your trip down the Severn - it should be lovely by now.
