The Blackthorn Stick Jig with Sheet Music! (Recorder and guitar)

- I've been attempting to learn how to play the recorder (and a few other instruments) for about a year and a half. When I first started I thought i'd never be able to play jigs- they just seemed so fast! But then I realised if I didn't at least try, then I definitely never would learn... so here I am... giving a jig a... erm... try(!) with my questionable-but-enthusiastic guitar and bongo playing too.
The recorder: I'm playing my plastic Aulos Haka: www.amazon.co.uk/Aulos-703W-D...
The Music: find it (for free!) here: thesession.org/tunes/702
It's also in this book:

Happy playing!

Fun and lovely
Adorable! I will buy the book. Uri, rio de janeiro.
Getting better and better
Lovely, thanks!
Nice one
Real fun, I like the tune and your version!
Reminds me a bit of some old Mike Oldfield versions he made of Playford tunes, like Argiers or Portsmouth 🤔😁
Lovely one hay thanks so much ,love your creativity.
Would enjoy a video on all the instruments you now play, portion of time devoted to each, and others you may take on.
I love irish tunes, Thank you for the score
That was fantastic, Lauren! You’re really good at this. 😀
Aw, thank you!
This was amazing! Your speed of improvement is really crazy! You should do a video on how you practice (if you've not already done that)!
Second that!!
You sound quite good and improving at a wonderful rste.keep up the good work🎵❤️🎶
My goodness! How you have come on in the time I've been following your progress. Very well done, lass.
Beautiful! Well done.
That was really good!!
I like your style. I can play along with you, that’s very nice 😊
Hey Lauren, nice job! Jigs are so fast and your timing was great. I’m currently struggling with learning one on piano-practicing s l o w to get it fast is taking forever, 😂. Oh well, back to my practice….
Is there a spoon version planned?
Very jolly tune and well played! How do you put together the parts that you play?
good playing! i have a question, are you completely self taught with method books, or do you have any form of teacher?
I've watched all her videos back to back since finding her - she started off self taught, then started going to a teacher, I think when she did Grade 2 exam? She explains in the earlier videos.
I was promised terrible guitar playing, but that was great! You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself; this whole performance was very musical and I really enjoyed it. 🎶
Why I see B-52s ? 🤗
Is it from Playford?
oh ignore me, you've left a link doh! sorry
oooo! the book of tunes is part of my Amazon Unlimited subscription. Cool!
I wonder why my comment was deleted?
I’m jumping on this one before it vanishes! Your comments have always disappeared when I try to reply. I don’t know why it happens, but I’ve been hoping you don’t think I’m ignoring you! I see your comments in my emails but they often don’t appear below the vids 🤔 Could it be something in your settings?
@@ClaythorpeMusic This guy has a link to the flutes I've been tying to tell you about ruclips.net/video/_-6SLL_XD1g/видео.html
I enjoy your videos, including this one. You sound great. The Aulos Haka is also my favorite recorder (but I only own the alto). I can play the Blackthorn Stick Jig in the same key as you on the alto (without transposing) without using my knee for the high F# and A because I added a bell key to my alto recorder ruclips.net/video/NKiLo3_f73U/видео.html.
