I think part of what makes OotSA is that they have some inspirations you don't find in most other rock/metal bands. Tom Waits in particular I think, he's got an extremely unique sound, and is also one of the best lyricists ever. Josh Homme loves his puns. The last album, In Times New Roman, is full of song titles like that. Emotional Sickess, Obscenery, Paper Machete, Carnavoyeur for example, all brilliant songs. It's a pity the QotSA reactions aren't getting as many views as they deserve, they don't have a "The Warning Army" behind them that obsessively watch their reactions (like me).
