Joe is doing a good job in my opinion. Seems like he’s trying to build something decent here.

@@Chillehhhh I love the MMQB - if Joe Schoen let him walk after that playoff run he’d be ridiculed. He didn’t commit long term, instead, can cut bait after this year and install a young QB behind an offensive line that finally has talent.

@@just908blaze1 again, it’s a lot easier to hold your viewpoint after the disastrous year two. Daniel Jones played like a fringe top-12 quarterback and considering the alternative was Tyrod Taylor or Jacoby Brissett, Schoen made the best decision. Also, all of this is for naught if Saquon and his reps didn’t try to get CMC money. Lastly, as for X, Saquon leaving without getting anything - I’m not sure we can absolve him but I know John Mara didn’t want either to leave.
Why is nobody questioning why X and saquon didn’t get traded the season before… there was no discussion or emphasis on bringing back Mckinnie and look at the money he got your telling me a team wouldn’t have given a draft pick for his rights and the mayb franchise tag x or sign long term ? He got max money basically
Saquon was a captain for the offense and McKinney was a captain for the defense. In football respect in the locker room matters a ton. You can’t give up on seasons half way through and moving on from those guys mid season would’ve destroyed the locker room

the guy has no business running a team. To trust Jones and get rid of a top RB that helps your pass game. They are cooked this year. The line will quit like every other year.
@NOBODYBEATSTHERIZZ Saquon had a game last year with 36 carries and the giants ended the game with -9 pass yards… Saquon was that offense, but also hard to trade cause no team is going to trade for him unless they are going to sign him long term and they know if they just wait until the offseason they’ll get him in Free agency for no picks. Titans did the same thing with Derrick Henry and they were in rebuild mode by mid season but couldn’t trade Henry. It’s hard to trade a RB mid season, most teams already have their long term or 1 year rental
@@kylem6370 bruh using the Jets game as an example of Saquon being the offense is absolutely ridiculous 😭😭. And Saquon had to be the offense because the O-line sucked and had no weapons. We revamped the O-line and have a good WR core. Have to have patience

I have to wonder how Saquon is processing Hard Knocks and basically being camera fodder for Shoen and company.
I think Mara gets it better than even he can articulate. The cameras make him look like a nostalgic doddering old man, but it think he realizes how this could blow up in his face again the way it did in 2017.
The thing is Saquon isn't just another RB1. This guy has had a chip on his shoulder since high school when he was told he was to small and weak to play running back. The problem was that he simply hadn't hit his growth spurt (late bloomer). So what happens? He doubles down and gets bigger and stronger and THEN hits his growth spurt. Shows up in high school with grown-man size and strength without losing his speed.
The point is this could end up being a John Wick moment for the gmen and not in a good way. Your gm basically sees you as a throwaway piece and sayonarra. He tries to make it look like he wanted to keep you, but you were just too greedy to keep. I hope i'm wrong, but this is the 2nd time in less than 10 years we had to drop a top 10 talent (obj) due to having a seriously poor roster overall. Smh

@@AaronMich90 2 years isn't enough time to evaluate a GM because they need to clean up the mess from the man who overdrafted a RB #2 overall then he paid OBJ and told the world he would never trade him 3 days later he was shipped off to Cleveland. That's horrific communication. Joe Schoen is is much better in that department. This will be a pivotal season for sure. Either way Saquon rejected two deals in 22 which is his right. Now we'll see where the chips fall. I believe we have the right leadership in place.

You don’t sit there and tell everyone in your face that you want to be a lifer and then run to a rival. Not only was he already making more than most RBs just being on the Giants and not winning or being a Top 3 in the league, but he wanted an overpaying offer or he was out. ✌🏾
One hundred fucking percent! Hard Knocks showed me that Saquon was saying one thing and doing another. He wanted to dupe the fans but it’s all out there - not only did he burn the Giants over a few million, he went to their bitter rival.
I just dont understand why people seem to have so much faith in this GM!! He has not brought or drafted one pro bowler since he's been here!! And the reason why the offensive online continue to suck it's because of the people he brought in!!

For one, he didn’t have the financial ability (until this offseason) to actually acquire offensive line talent. He was bargain shopping and it didn’t work. However, he grabs multiple starters, a promising edge rusher, a solid running back and a playmaking wide receiver. Give the guy time.

@@w00deey12 yes, he made a wise investment that could be cut to a two-year deal if he flops. The market is what it is - he could have gambled and lost, and a team coming off a playoff win would have had…Jacoby Brisset or Tyrod Taylor. John Mara wouldn’t have allowed that.

85 sacks indicates the 2nd worst o-line in NFL history. How do you think a rookie qb would fare? For that matter, how would a superstar qb fare? Why would anyone in their right mind bring a qb into this? To have even given consideration at trading up to aquire a qb, further depleting future draft resources, without first creating a safe environment in which for him to work, proves to me this GM is not only a piss-poor evaluator of talent but doesnt have a grip on his teams most primary need.
The GM's ineffectiveness at shoring up the O line over a decade has destroyed careers. Theres no excuse for this. None. Mara is a hubristic clown. He'd rather his team burn than have to fire yet ANOTHER ineffective GM and staff. Literally, he might be the worst businessman still in business world over. 15:07

As a Giant fan since 1952 (not a typo) one thing I do not understand is why the Giants have had to pay 9:03 one star and no super star and never have had any cap space as other teams do
Remember Joe inherited bad bad bad contracts. In the NFL usually you can cut players but then there is dead cap attached to it. Joe had to restructure and cut players just to get under the cap. DG was a horrible GM and Joe has to try to fix it.
Its odd for sure. We dont even have that many massive contracts. Look at some of the qb numbers. We dont do anything in free angecy and give big contracts to players that dont deserve it. Sadly this front office is cooked as well.
If the GM keeps drafting this poorly, regardless of his business accumen, he has to be replaced. You cant build a team on free agent signings. His drafts havent yielded close to adequate results. Matter of fact, 46 of the 52 players on the roster are Schoens adds. The only pro bowlers were drafted prior.

I’m not a giant fan but the giants totally fucked up. And Barkley will probably go for between 1500 yards easily and beat the breaks off the giants.
Interesting that Don said Daniel Jones ineffective first then said can't stay healthy. He made sure to put ineffective first with the little pause he gave before saying it. I've said over and over the reason the Giants would draft a QB is more concern over Jones staying healthy than his performance but evidently La Greca doesn't think that way. If the O line protects him so he can stay healthy you'll see what DJ can do and all the critics can say WE DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING NOT FROM DANIEL JONES. That will be their excuse which I'll just say is bullshit and pathetic.
@stephennixon9609 giving Jones $45 million a year is crazy. Saquon got him that money, and Jones was playing horrible last year even before getting hurt, some of those sacks he just wouldn’t throw the ball away and try running around like he was Lamar or Fields. Tyrod Taylor and Danny Devito looked significantly better than Jones and didn’t get sacked nearly as much behind that same offensive line. Jones can look better but he won’t look like $45 million a year, especially if he still has his fumbling problem if his passing gets somewhat better
@@kylem6370 First of all I think you mean Tommy DeVito not Danny. And 2nd Tommy was accused of the same thing holding the ball too long and getting sacked. 85 sacks were enough to go around for all 3 QB'S. Jones is getting 40 million and compared to what other QB'S are getting like Kurt Cousins it's pretty low. His fumbling the last 2 years has gone down considerably so that's not a big factor anymore either.
this all for the most part sounds really good but you still have to win and the giants the last couple of years haven't done that and joe chuckling and saying to john after going 6-11 and your starting highly paid qb throwing just 2 td passes we're okay i don't get that

@@nard1000 Do not understand what happened to their locker room last season? There's a reason they started 10-1 but finished 11-6. They were flying high as a team and AJ went nuclear because he felt he wasn't getting the ball enough. The rest is history

This is the insanity of Giants Fans. In breath they Rationalize let Saquon go because of Daniel Jones and his contract. In the next they want to trade up from the 6th pick to get a QB to replace the guy in year 2 of a contract that this same Gm gave him. 😂 and everyone is on their knees for this nonsense
The fact the GM made the contract that has an out after two years should have already told people how they felt about DJ. They know the QB situation needs to improve, but choices are slim. That contract was a hedge bet.

If people have not noticed Saquon's decline since his great rookie year snd after all the injuries to his legs, it's because they weren't paying close attention. His GPS top speed #s have declined. Almost all his advanced stats metrics have declined. Eagles probably overpaid for a fading star. Plus... pressure to give him his touches just takes the ball away from Brown, Smith and Goeddert.
What stars do the Giants have?
Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns are two.
