- Another face recreation project focusing on ancient Egypt on some of its pharaohs and even normal people. This was done with the effort by observing the statues and separating myths, misconceptions from reality.

And also, Im sorry to break your bubble, but Egypt is in Northeastern Africa, and African Americans were transported as slaves from West Africa, which is thousands of kilometers away from the north east. So even if Egyptians were black, they would have nothing to do with African Americans genetically speaking. All black people in different regions are different people genetically speaking, and the only thing they have in common is their melanin. Sorry.

@@ABAddonfromHeLL it really depends on the area, normally near the delta people tend to be more light-skinned, not like really white, but fair, in the southern part of Egypt people get the most sun so they're more black-skinned.
That's in general, but still doesn't mean that north Egypt is white, and southern is black, Egypt pretty much contains a mix of skin colors.

I'll stop replying to various comments and just make a post. Americans are actually insane to think Ancient Egyptians were black (or white) and unable to actually read studies done on mummies or just look at a map. Ancient Egyptians most likely looked what this video shows them as and to deny this is delusional.
Open a map. You see that Egypt is directly next to the Middle East and closer to the Middle East than it is to 90% of black countries.
Furthermore, various DNA studies have been done on the ancient mummies and old Egyptians have less black DNA in them than modern ones. I hope I also don't have to say that they weren't white either. Americans need to stop black- and white washing ancient egyptian history. And to top that all of, if you LOOK at the oldest pharao mummies ever found they have straight hair and hooked noses, they do not look black at all.
In America most think that the Ancient Egyptians looked mostly like Middle Eastern peoples. No one thinks they were YT. That is a Hollywood fantasy and we know it.

They look like modern Egyptians
Misunderstanding of historical facts will be explained. When it was revealed that Kemet in ancient Egypt meant black land it was in reference to the colour of the fertile soil of that part of the nile and not the skin colour of the people.
The claim that the Moors were only black Sub Saharans when in reality the Moors were composed of North African Berbers, Arabs and some black sub Saharans (the latter was comprised of slaves that were castrated and taken by the former two to fight in their armies). In terms of jealousy and insecurity,
there's something to be said for the fact that many more African Americans believe in Afrocentrism than continental Africans themselves. The reason for that is because unlike Sub Saharan Africa (with the exception of South Africa) African Americans live in a nation with a large number of whites who's cultures accomplishments have been most of the world's most advanced. While it's true that Europe only got out of the medieval ages in the late not long before the beginning of the 1600's it's people and their decendants have done more to change the technology of the world in 500 years than anyone else. By comparison virtually all of Sub Saharan Africa was in the stone age and hadn't even created the wheel on their own for their entire existance. Note that I'm stating a fact and not trying to spread hate here.
Many African Americans grow up in an environment which causes them to compare themselves to others and tie their self esteem into attaining certain things. It's therapeutic to the pain of their inferiority complex problems for them to hear these lies and misunderstandings. Many of them have become so addicted to the victim card that it has allowed their emotions to hijack their sense of logic. This helps explain why so many of them believe that anyone who disagrees with their views must be a white racist. Black americans do not know which lineage they come from so they claim anything, we have all seen how they claim to be Olmec, Assyrians, Egyptians, Hebrew israelites, Persians, Vikings, ancient Chinese and native Americans and MUCH MUCH more.
Inferiority complex together with internal self hatred has it's source from not knowing who you are. White americans can trace their lineages to several nations in Europe but black americans can't so they just claim Egypt bcs it is in Africa.
Have u noticed why black americans never talk about Sierra Leone or Ghana? They never mention west and central Africa where they hail from bcs the slave trade took slaves from those areas in Africa.
The distance between Egypt and west Africa is the same distance between Egypt to Moscow, the sahara belt is also a natural barrier that seperates anort Africa from sub Sahara Africa. Egypt is even closer to Norway than it is to South Africa.

Always amazed me how much is going on in the statue of the seated scribe. You can infer a lot from his expression and posture. He looks really relaxed, like he and the sculptor were good friends. His shoulders are posed, but not held rigid, and the hands are like he's looking up after a pause in writing a good idea. The Egyptians ate pretty well by ancient standards, but I expect our friend here also had a taste for dates and honey. 🙂
Then looking at the face: This fellow had a bright personality I think, that's a face that smiles a lot. Recent scientific studies on DNA, anthropometric measurement (measuring the dimensions of the human body), eye, hair, skin, and teeth measurements ... etc.
It became clear that despite all the occupations and foreign migrations to Egypt throughout history, the vast majority of Egyptians today retain the same genetic traits as the ancient Egyptians.

2- As for the genetic traits belonging to the peoples of the Near East, their percentage is about (10.3%), and they are divided into two groups:
The first group: a group (Arabs - Jews - Turks - Kurds - Iran - Iraq - Jordan - Palestine - Syria - Lebanon ... etc.), so its percentage (combined) among the Egyptian people, despite all immigration and invasions, is not more than (5.2%)
This confirms the words of al-Maqrizi, who lived at the time of the rule of the Mamluks (the one who was not Arabs) and died in 1422 CE in his book “The Statement and the Expression of the Arabs in the Land of Egypt,” when he said:
"Know that the Arabs who witnessed the conquest of Egypt were wiped out by time and the conditions of most of their wake were ignored, and remnants of the Arabs have remained in the land of Egypt" (meaning the Arab tribes currently in Egypt)
And the second group (southern Europe, Greece - Turkey ... etc.), its percentage is about (5.1%)
3- As for the European genetic traits (Western Europe - Italy "the Romans" - the French - the English ... etc.), their percentage is about (5.5%)
... and the remaining percentage (6.9%) is distributed on different genetic traits from different origins with no specific origin ... meaning they are present all over the world, but their origin is not known.

The greek philosopher here described a Syrian man with the same description Herodotus used for the Egyptians denoting a fact that the Egyptians looked similar to the levantines.

He used "μελαγχροιὴς" to describe Odysseus appearance after Athena restored his youth.
So basically the Egyptians, Greeks, Cypriots, Georgins and Syrians were all described with the same term.

Some of them use mummies for reference though. Some have the skull. You should look at others too and compare them. For instance Akhenaton and Nefertiti look slightly different in others that (I think) were worked from skull models. To even come close to knowing how they looked is incredible!

I see a lot of people are claiming Egyptians were solely one shade of skin. Come on now, think for a moment. Egypt rests right in the center of three continents people, and it was a hub of travelers and pilgrims for thousands of years. It was a land of mixed races and ideologies with influence from North/South Africa, the Levant, Turkey, Mesopatamia, Southern Europe, and even as far east as India. Not to mention Buddhist monks traveled to Egypt. Egyptian culture is a shared heritage of humanity. Enough with the blackwashing/whitewashing nonsense. Kemet means the black land yes, and that's a reference to the dark soil on the banks of the Nile being Blackened in sharp contrast to the light tan desert surrounding it. Egyptian dynasties spanned thousands of years so they saw many different racially diverse pharaohs over its history. The average Egyptian however greatly resembled the average Egyptians of today. Keep up the great work Panagiotis and disregard all the others who offer nothing but criticisms and false claims to assured knowledge as if they had time machines.

i think you capture Akhenaten spot on. We had an Egyptian co worker with us at work for a while and his face was very similar to what you did with Akhenaten. Better than most forensic reconstructions i have ever seen. Keep going Sir.
